  • Thank you all for the adds! We got this! :)
  • I am in LOVE with my fitbit! I would be so lost without it!! :D
  • No problem! The link to the group if you are interested is http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/9244-pcos-fighters-we-fight-we-win-we-survive-
  • Hiya! :) I just recently came back to MFP too and I am looking for active friends :) You can feel free to add me if you'd like :) I have a long list of health issues including PCOS so I can definitely relate to what you go through! Did you know there is a PCOS group on mfp? :)
  • I am starting over too and from what I've seen of some of the replies- you're not alone in this. I love my fitbit that I use. We all have our reasons from straying, but the important thing is that we're back! ;)
  • Hiya! Thanks for reaching out for help. Since you were just diagnosed, I'm assuming you are type 2? I am a type 1 Diabetic and I have been so for about 14 years or so :) I would suggest seeing an endocrinologist ( diabetic doctor) and a dietician and follow what they give you. But generally what they do is suggest no more…
  • Welcome!! Although I don't have any kids, we are close to the same weight and I can relate to those struggles and feelings. I'm going to add you and maybe we can support each other through our journeys! :)
  • If you follow what MFP tells you to eat for calorie goal... whenever you excercise you are supposed to eat the calories you burned. That calorie goal is what you are supposed to "net" Meaning if your calorie goal is 1600: and you walked enough to burn 400 calories. If you eat 2000 calories that day you are still eating at…
  • ooh, bump-a-licious~ :)
  • Best thing to do is use your common sense :) I'm type 1 diabetic.. and my Endo ( diabetic dr) & dietician told me to ignore the sugar content as well. Fruit has sugar in yes, but its also good for you. Instead, we go by total carbs, and I have a total carb goal to be under for each meal, snack, etc. Since starting here I…
  • Welcome!! :) My goal weight is alos over 100 lbs from where I am at right now also. There is a group on here if you are looking for more support with others that all have 100 lbs or more to lose. You can find it at : http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/702-100-lbs-to-lose Best of luck to you :)
  • Hey Courtney! Welcome :) I just recently came back to MFP, so guess I'm am just re-starting over :) I sent you a friend request. I hae a long journey ahead of me as well, so I would be happy to be of any encouragement to you that I can :)
  • I would say exactly this. I seen on your profile your total goal to lose is 46 lbs. You've already done 9lbs in two weeks. That's amazing. How long would it take you to gain 46 lbs? It should be the same or longer to lose that weight. None of us got overweight overnight, you don't get healthy overnight either.
  • I have recently come back also... had some real life stuff going on to where i could get here, but getting back on track again. Feel free to add me :)
  • Feel free to add me :) I too have around 100 lbs i want to lose also! There is actually a group on MFP for people with 100lbs + to lose, so know that you are definitely not alone! :) Try not to look at the big picture, it seems to overwhelm people, especially when first starting out! Instead focus on a day at the time, or…
  • Welcome to you both :) I was recently away from mfp for awhile, but I'm back again. Feel free to add me :) I'm always looking for friends:)
  • I am type 1 Diabetic so I feel your frustration! :) But not all sugar is bad for you. I personally go with a carb goal, since the amount of carbs in something includes the amt of sugar. But back to your question of fruits.. your lower carb/sugar fruits are your berries. Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries,…
  • I found this article interesting... http://sizeandsubstance.com/2011/11/28/body-mass-index-bmi-where-it-came-from-and-what-its-good-for/ Crazy that the BMI system was started that long ago!! Times have changed, maybe that system of measuring and judging people should too.
  • But what I'm asking... is when I eat just a little over my BMR... I'm more then satisfied even with being that busy and active... will eating at that be okay for me, since I am still "obese" ?
  • To explain a little more... I'm a CNA. So I'm always moving.. lots of walking, bending, lifting etc. From the time i go to work until i leave the only time im still in on my 30 min lunch break lol. Today on my shift... i reached 20k steps. thats just at work...lol. I work at least 5 days a week, the last few weeks its been…
  • Device I have been using is a fitbit. and when I said I burned 2k calories, that was not including my bmr... so my total reading was over 4k calories, 2k of them being my bmr.
  • Welcome! :) Glad to see you here. Although I don't have "bad knees", i do have a leg that is amputated below the knee. ;) Everyone's progression is different, but the important thing is we are all here and changing our lives for the better. I would just make sure to start out slow. Pick a distance and go for it. If its too…
  • I don't think it really matters as long as your consistent for example, same type of clothing, always with the same pair of shoes or no shoes and the same time of day.
  • Hi and welcome!! There are lots of us here :) We also have a group on MFP......> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/9244-pcos-fighters-we-fight-we-win-we-survive- So anyone with PCOS looking for further encouragement there are quite a few of us in that group :)
  • OP- I would suggest knowing all your facts before posting advice like maybe the actual name of those hormones, or some scientific studies to support your statement. Also, try those ridiculous 17 rules you posted with some progress since you just joined MFP. If you have sucess and can STICK with it long term, more power to…
  • My husband got me a tshirt that says "I may not always be right, but I am Never ever wrong". Enought said? LOL,
