  • So glad you found out what was causing your troubles! But Hashi's isn't your root cause. There is something causing the hashi's...and once you find that, THAT is your root cause. For many people it stems from a food intolerance causing issues in your gut which creates permeability in your intestines and wwreaks havoc on…
  • You are welcome :) ZInc is up there... :flowerforyou: As for brands, let me do some research this weekend for you and I'll see what I can find. I can vouch for the brand my crossfit box owner also owns called Competitive Edge. His supplements are clean and high quality...and more affordable for the same name brand stuff…
  • Kettlebells are amazing...but I agree the ones you got are pretty much useless. I use 12 and 16 lb bells and love them. Great for your back, abs, shoulders, thighs, butt....you get a good quick all over workout. :) Depending on the weight I use, I feel it in any combination of the areas I listed. One thing to watch for is…
  • Welcome!! :) I'm glad you are here, and sad at the same time...I hate that so many people struggle with hypothyroidism. Hopefully your doctor can help you, but I must be the pain in the butt to tell you - don't get false hope. Tons of people struggle to feel well even with doctor treatment as they only focus on giving…
  • you are so very welcome :) Post back after a week or so and let us know how switching to night helps your sleep!
  • These threads always make me sad for people. I could wake up tomorrow and decide I wanted to join the circus or something equally as bizarre and my guy would be all for it and be my biggest cheerleader. I wouldn't have it any other way, otherwise he wouldn't be my guy. We all need support from our partners. We should want…
  • so glad I didn't have anything in my mouth when I got tho this page (considering I just finished eating lunch), because it would have ended up all over my laptop screen!
  • I drive at least 2+ hours a day....never count it as exercise. That's like counting cleaning your kitchen and bathroom as exercise. Nope.
  • we're already super awesome amazing best MFP friends :flowerforyou:
  • Everyone already gave fantastic advice, so the only thing I'll chime in on is this: Don't blame a thyroid disorder (that's undiagnosed) on your inability to lose weight. This is coming from someone that has autoimmune thyroid disease. A messed up thryoid will not make it impossible to lose weight, I don't care who you are.…
  • Sorry I didn't see his before now! But yes this will be my first TM as well. Let's kill it!!!!!
  • Thanks guys :). I appreciate the input! I've been toying with the idea of getting a myofascial release massage (even before my legs were hurting), but haven't gone yet.
  • You look friggin incredible!!!! Congrats on your success. Hard work will always pay off. :)
  • I don't have the kind of rest days where I Iiterally don't do anything. On days I don't lift, I'm either out and about all day walking around/running errands, or go do some other activity (like last weekend on a "rest day" I went to an indoor trampoline park). I plan to go for bike rides on rest days now that I have a bike…
  • ^^ this....hip thrusters, deadlifts and walking lunges for the win to build a booty
  • How gret to have such supportive family and friends. Most of us aren't that lucky and suffer alone or in silence for a very long time before family and friends will finally realize it's a REAL issue. You are most definitely NOT crazy! :) Glad to have you with us :flowerforyou:
  • I workout after work, because I get up at 4:30 as it is to get ready for work and getting up earlier than that sucks pretty bad. But I also schedule anything else I want to do around the time I want to go workout, for example if I have to go grocery shopping or clean or laundry, etc. I've made my fitness a priority, and…
  • Everyone's goals are motivating me. It's exciting to see the things you guys are all working towards. :)
  • Ok, I think I got everyone! If I missed someone just shoot me a FR. You guys all got me even more excited for my own event!! This is just great :drinker:
  • Holy crap I did NOT expect so many replies! haha awesome!! Thanks peeps that already sent me FR's. I'll work on going through the list and requesting the rest of y'all. :)
  • First, congrats on finishing the C25k program :). I wouldn't bee too worried about the weight loss. It can speed up or slow down temporarily when you start a new workout program. But if something doesn't feel right along with the rapid weightloss (as in rapid heart beat, shortness of breath, insomnia, shakes, headaches,…
  • Defintely keep focusing on nutrition for weight loss. You lose weight in the kitchen, and get fit in the gym. Use exercise for fitness. Keep up the good work.
  • I'm a working furbaby mom...does that count? :) I'm not selling anything either. I still have quite a bit of weight to lose, but have a fitness goal to complete a Tough Mudder in October so I have shifted my focus from obessing over losing weight to training to get my fitness in line for the TM...and letting the weight…
  • Did you think you'd lose 8lbs a week every week until you reached goal weight? Two weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of losing weight. You didn't gain it all in two weeks. Give the process time, and every one offered great advice as far as watching sodium and weighing food. Stick with it, results will come.
  • I struggle with very low vitD as well. I have a very hard time absorbing it, even with high dose supplementation. It's been a long slow journey with trying to get it up. But I'm hopeful with now living near the beach again I'll be in the sun more and hopefully get my levels up this summer :)
  • I couldn't do it...I've tried..several time to "diet" that way. Then I tried to do the 1200 cals and eat back exercise cals - but then on days I didn't work out I'd feel like I was starving. I much prefer TDEE method so I can eat the same every day :D. ALL THE FOOOODZ!
  • Lots of people have thyroid issues, welcome to the club! One of the ones where membership isn't really wanted.... >_< Anyway, I have Hashimoto's and know your pain when it comes to losing weight. But don't give in - it's still possible to lose. :) ETA: Just realized I didn't really answer the question I manage by staying…
  • It is only a progressive disease as long as the underlying cause remains unchecked. Once the root cause is found and balanced or corrected, we can go into remission. Good luck to you as well! :)
  • Oh I really feel for you :( I hope it resolves itself for you sooner rather than later. Time in the sun always helps me...it's know we Hashi heads have chronicly low VitD (most of us anyway) and that can also affect our energy as well as aggravate many other symptoms.
  • The reasoning behind this is to balance out the T3 since it's the "available for immediate use" hormone. If you are taking NDT or compounded meds, you could try splitting the dose. If you are taking T4 only meds splitting the dose won't make much of a difference in my experience. Personally, I just take the whole dose at…
