Nobody to ask other than the scary buff men on the next station. I can try and take a video at my next session. Can you explain what you mean by foot rolling out? I may need to check this. Thanks.

Just want to say GOOD FOR YOU - Going from couch potato to a gym newbie takes so much courage and I just want to wish you well on your new regime. The machines will help and you will still smile and feel pride when you make progress with them. Enjoy!

thanks for the feedback guys. Really helpful stuff :) Cant wait to try it again. My shoulders have been sore since that workout. Hopefully improvements will be made, if not, i will keep at it.

I currently weigh 192lbs. I have been lifting heavy (SL5x5) on 1500-1700 calories but also doing some HIIT on treadmill and crosstrainer for 20-30 minutes 3 times a week depending on how I feel. I have been losing a lb a week still. I do the cardio to help with my deficit. I would have another look at that 1200 cal diet of…

^^ This! Beginning of the year, i couldn't squat my body weight even (was over 200lbs). Your strength will build up quickly if you dedicate the time. I was squatting 25kgs this morning (also new the weights section.... yes i get looked at, no i dont care!). I get the intimidation. Congrats for being bigger than that. Never…

Have you been allowing yourself some down time to recover (days off)? Rest is as important as exercise.

Hmmm starting to think the kettle class had a bigger impact than expected then. I believe at one point i was grunting to finish squats and other moves. It was quite brutal.

Thanks for the feedback. Just been feeling so amazing this year to get kicked down again the last few days. I am on the pill which should stop my periods but I still get one every now and then. Never had problems with managing my food around this time though so guess I am just lucky lol. Literally just a bit bummed that I…

May be a case of over training? (warning detail coming up) I have very heavy periods which may have an impact? Its not so much about motivation or food cravings. I just feel achy and exhausted :(.

Ahhh wish i had the space. Good for you!! When is workout #2 and what will it be? :)

Add me if you need a friend. I am nearing 100lb loss (this time round) but from my heaviest weight, i am over 100lbs down. I still have another 50lbs and some to go :'(

I listen to Spotify Running - recommended for you. It picks up the tracks you like based on what you listen to at different tempo's which can be picked up as you run or a set pace. Love it. Really makes me smile while I am running.

I started exercising at 286lbs. My knees, feet and back hurt horribly to the point i wanted to cry on the elliptical. Stationary bike helped loads with my knees - alignment and developing supporting muscle. It does get easier. Every lb that came off made the difference so I'd suggest keep it low impact (elliptical, bike,…

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the feedback and advice. I will do this! I am determined to.

There is an app you can download called drivebit. It stops my Charge HR counting but you do need to remember to turn it off and on or it assumes you are still driving while you are in fact stepping.

update: I ended up using machines to mimic the SL5x5.... that free weights room is just too intimidating :( really really don't know how i am meant to even get the courage to step in there. Not even sure what i am scared of. May just sort my membership out and get an induction and force them to show me the equipment. That…

Amazing replies. Really appreciate your time in getting back to me - thanks all. An interesting debate about best way forward and I totally agree with the being able to build muscle in a deficit. It might just be because I am just starting but I have definitely got more muscle than I did 3 weeks ago and have got a lot…

Thanks for your comments. I will do some more research on SL5x5. I am on my own with this and really want to make sure i read up about correct form etc as best i can before i start. Will keep on body pumping until then!

Thanks for the input guys. Really like lifting and pushing myself - I have found out in the last year that I have a remarkable ability of kicking my own backside. I guess I should just get on with it and see how I get on. The only problem is.... getting the confidence to go into the 'free weights room' where all the big…

I am 30 with the same complaints. Would be interested to hear what others think/suggest...

Thanks! I have the strong lifts 5x5 app and was set to go with it until i got confused about if this was the right thing to do. Current goal is that I need to lose fat - basically continue my weight loss but mix it up because cardio is boring me now. I read building muscle helps to raise metabolism and burn more calories.…

I have lost nearly 6 stone and I am always cold now :(

im a massive snacker during the day. Its ridiculous. To keep to my calories, i just make sure my breakfast and lunch are low calorie alternatives. I.e. just a yoghurt for breakfast (100cals), snack on grapes and crackers until lunch which is usually 250 cal or lower, snack the afternoon then have a nice rounded 500-600…

Thank you so much for your kind replies guys. I have taken it all on board (including advise to log not hide my indulgences). I guess I do need to relax a bit. There is enough going on in my mind to worry too much about my diet. I know keeping up the exercise is going to help. It has always helped me to deal with stress,…

Its a great app! I used it between Jan and September last year and lost 5 stone. Did some maintenance and had a break due to illness until 2 weeks ago. Just come to the forums if you need any helps. These guys are all great.
