I stopped even looking at the main forums. Folks there, are straight-up hostile towards paleo.

Nutritional content was all a mystery before I started paleo and in that way it was all a surprise... which itself made none of it a surprise really. I guess I was a little taken aback by how sugary milk was but then I thought about it for a second and was like, "Ah! LactOSE... Like sucrOSE, fructOSE, and glucOSE. I get it…

I log it, but I have stopped doing any thing resembling a structured IF. Should the calories count as a break in fasting? I should think they do, physiologically so I'd say yes. Then again, I'm no expert.

Man, y'all are lucky... I am a binge eater, no matter what it is, unless I consciously stop myself.

Welcome! Remember: eat your bacon.
-
I eat an unreasonable amount of both. Actually, when I was losing the most weight, I was eating between two and four pounds of bacon a week. I eat nearly that much now, but I'm much closer to goal and so I'm not losing a whole lot in general, even when I cut out such things entirely.

Of course, I imagine that there is no one number. It depends on activity levels, degree of fitness, and probably a billion other things. This article below, by Sisson, is the best I could think of to post. In it, he does mention some people suggest that paleo-era humans ate probably around 80gr/day but whether that was all…

Haha! Luddites, you all! ;) I saw this a few days ago. I'm super excited about this, actually. This is just another small step toward Star Trek-like replicators. I can hardly wait.

Ha! Excellent timing on this post. Sisson's blog entry today: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/how-to-overcome-the-naysayers-in-your-life/#axzz2aQqjZnKi I immediately thought of this thread when i saw it just now.

Welcome! The good news is that I think you'll lose weight pretty effortlessly even with regular "cheating" with that much weight to lose. I used to eat pasta and bread for the first sixty or seventy pounds, probably two or three times a week. Never as a primary dish, mind you, but I wasn't nearly as strict as I am now. The…

I have no advice or insight but I would like to express my condolences for such a tragic development.

If they're actually "naysaying", there's nothing you can say. If they're just incredulous and/or ignorant of the subject, then I just try to explain it. I'm not good at it, though. In the end, I just think, "Screw 'em. I lost 140lbs while eating 2-4lbs of bacon a week. I know what works. Who cares what they think?"

Thicker than coffee, of course. I'd say maybe its mouth-feel is kind of like drinking a V8, as far as just the thickness goes. Smoother than V8, though.

I topped out at ~325lbs. I'm now at ~180lbs. The first 100lbs or so, I didn't hardly exercise at all. It was completely effortless (I was eating 2-4lbs of bacon a week). I started exercising only because I had too much energy to go to sleep at night if I didn't do anything that day. I still have a few percentage-points of…

I did three whole eggs. I figured this would be ok because Sissons recipe called for two for whole eggs with one cup (8oz) of coffee. My Klean Kanteen is 20oz. Three Jumbo eggs are estimated to be a little over 6oz which means ~14oz of coffee. So, this should make for a slightly less egg-rich concoction than what the…

Last Friday, and this morning, I beat three eggs and put them in a 20oz insulated Klean Kanteen and then fill it the rest of the way with coffee ("Island Coconut" flavor Green Mountain) and then shake to mix. Friday, I used salt and cinnamon, this morning just salt. Three eggs is a bit much, I think. Both Friday and today,…

My Home tab > Goals > green "Change Goals" button at bottom.

I have mine set for 60% fat/30% protein/10% carb. I tend to nail it, if averaged out over a week, when I'm eating the way I'm supposed to. It seems that those ratios are fairly close to what many others do, as well.

Haha! Nice, man. I hardly ever go to the doctors office. This may be in part because almost every doctor I've ever HAD to see (LASIK, broken ankle, etc.) was a colossal a**hole. My primary care physician is a personal friend. I still never go to her office either, though. But I do want to schedule an appointment for blood…

Welcome! That's great about your cravings. I wish it were like that for me. I crave almost any food all the time... I've been really wanting some almond butter (all of it, actually... I have a problem), all day. Or pork rinds. *GASP* HOLY SH... I'm totally going to eat some pork rinds WITH almond butter, someday. I am a…

Pork rinds typically have only two ingredients on the label; fried pork skins and salt. They are deliciously paleo. Like almond butter, I can't keep 'em in the house or I will smoke the whole container in one sitting.

Yup.

I've bought these: http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Chlorofresh-90-Softgels/dp/B00016AGBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372165050&sr=8-1&keywords=chlorophyll I actually do notice a huge difference. If I drink a cup of coffee in the morning, my breath is awful after. If I take one of those softgels, it takes care of that problem…

I have a six-hour eating window, usually between 12:00pm and 6:00pm. I typically eat two meals within these two times and try to make them as close together as possible. I don't snack in between. Has this done anything for me? I haven't noticed any real differences. Fasting isn't anything magic. At least it hasn't been for…

Welcome. I lost an f' load of weight when I went paleo. I'm never going back now. You could fairly say that I recommend it.
-
I've been stalled in the 180- to 190-range for, like, eight months. My goal for the last four months or so has been 1,800cal/day. I have a Spartan race on the 30th and so have gone on, what I consider to be, an almost crash-diet of 1400ish, some days, to go into it as light as possible.
-
Yes, I was talking about myself. But, let's be honest here: I am insufferably obnoxious, also. So, every one is right. Yeah, high-five!!
-
I don't know your vitals but every calculator I've used for myself give me right around 2,500 or 2,600 for "light exercise". I'm 6ft, 185ish, male. If I put it up to "moderate" it's about 3,000, usually. Yeah. I don't know if that'll help you or not, but there it is.

I use an obscene amount of garlic powder and onion powder. I use a lot of salt and pepper, too. This is pretty much how I spice all the meat I cook. I typically scrape the spices up off the bottom of the cast iron and keep them stirred in to the coconut oil as everything is cooking. Then I pour the mixture over everything…
