I like what it does to my breast, hair, and penis. Oh, and let's not forget the benefits of drinking soy milk that my wife enjoys:

This is excellent except I think those erect nipples are just over the board. I mean, I've never met a woman who gets sexually aroused from drinking craft beer!

Seek medical help.

1. Toning takes time. If you start now, when you lose the 70 pounds, a beautifully toned and shaped muscle will appear. 2. It's not only about aesthetics. Resistance training helps with weight loss.

-1 I used to think all those things. Then I started lifting, in moderation, and now I enjoy it. And I like the changes it's making to my body. It really is kind of like eating healthy. If your *only* goal is weight loss, eating healthy or lifting is not required.

Very informative! Thanks.

You confused everyone by asking a question. Seems like you have all the answers, so what are you asking?

Weight loss - counting calories. Except for many, if not most, the weight loss journey expands and includes health and fitness, at least to some degree.. For weight loss, calorie deficit remains the only thing that matters. For satiation, what you eat matters. For general health, what you eat matters. For creating a…

I'm in the same boat - for the most part. For me it's the complex carbohydrates that cause me to gain weight - but as long as I stick with sugar (preferably brown sugar, but honey is even better - wholesome and delicious) the weight comes off with virtually no effort. I'd like to join the group...

That's a great start! How about drinking? Do you have the strength to abstain and to get healthy? Or is it going to be more of the "It's drink drink drink dance dance dance drink have sex pass out" routine?

I think everyone's different. Some people feel tired and exhausted, others feel energized. In my own experience, for the first few months of consistent daily workouts, I feel drained. After about 2-3 months I get to the point where I leave the gym and feel supercharged for the rest of the day.

Some healthful tasteless crap that I've had. Should've had something that I enjoyed instead.

Most importantly, you need to give up all sugar, especially being Portuguese. And be sure to eat breakfast every day. That will kick-start your metabolism.

Clearly, there are two schools of thought. One is, hey, you're losing 3-5 pounds a week, that's great, I'd like to do that too! The other is, what you're doing is unhealthy and even dangerous. I would suggest that you read the fora and get familiar with the arguments, reasoning, and science behind those opinions and…

Make sure you build new habits that are sustainable. I'm not saying it to sound cool - that has always been my problem in the past. Try to do too much at the time, until I burned out and given up. Now I'm shooting for 1 pound per week and a lifestyle I enjoy, because that way I know I can do this long term and succeed.

I'm with you - no loggin' no poopin'

Unlike many other posters, I DO get on the scales after a cheat day. Even thought it is mostly water weight, to me, the extra pounds provide additional motivation...
-
Oh, do you? Why would you, if you have to ask the question? Also, I don't think anyone assumed you need convincing - we simply made a very reasonable assumption that you're uninformed and ignorant, and we tried to help. So there!

You are most welcome, and yes - you are 100% correct. If your goal is to look like an undernourished skunk, then, by all means, stay in the basement, eat rice cakes, and count calories.
-
You're looking at it all wrong. You just had a great week full of events with people you love. What's a head of you is a week when you'll work your *kitten* off to make sure you keep up with your goals.
-
Of the "craft beers," the worst I've had has gotta be Rogue Donut, with some not so subtle bacon and maple syrup flavors...

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Personally, I turn it around and I use all negative feedback as a source of motivation. Instead of feeling hurt, or angry at others, I get that much more determined to make the changes I need to make.

Definitely worth watching. Like another poster, I too was surprised to hear the subject was on 800 calorie liquid diet for months which seems a bit low. But then, that's what Medifast does, and apparently there are lots of people on the program. There is another issue that I have with the experiment. The subjects were kept…

I can empathize - I though my **** was 10-15 pounds until I put in on the scale and found out it was 20 pounds! What a pleasant surprise!
-
My goal is to "lose weight slowly and gradually to get from the "overweight'" to the "normal" category, and to do so by creating a lifestyle that is sustainable during weight loss as well as maintenance, and do do so in a healthy way." I have managed quite well I think - I follow a consistent exercise schedule and I eat a…

For crying out loud, why would you want to marry a loser who will put up with that crap???
-
Personally, I don't. I prefer my women petite and subservient. But, to each their own!
-
Awesome!

TL;DR... being with a low maintenance woman - after having been with 3-4 high maintenance women before - the answer is unequivocally, YES!

Good post, thanks!
