  • Yes. More friends pleas
  • Do you have a fitbit? Surprisingly enough, some people do better eating some exercise calories. With being that active, your body may be needing those. Do you constantly count calories or have a few good days then have some days where you completely blow it? (I'm not judging, I do this and can tell you its the reason I…
  • weird! Did you work out? Do you have your devices set up to sedentary? If they are set to inactive, it is likely that you did earn some of those because very few people are truly inactive. I sometimes earn that many after a day of work, working out and a walk. If I eat them (and have it set to sedentary) I still lose…
  • anyone can add me. I have had the same friends for a while and would like to get some new ones :)
  • Thank you for the advice. The back problem started when I was a teen. We got rear ended by a pizza delivery guy. They pain didn't even start for months so I didn't have immediate attention to the problem. It tends to get better sometimes but football bleachers def don't help and neither does walking for extended periods. I…
  • someone may have said this before. You may have to up your calories, at least that is what helped me. I started researching BMR and TDEE and I learned that I could eat more and still lose. I then bought a fitbit which amazes me how much I can eat and still lose. I have had that same mental battle though and I agree with…
  • 1500 will be too low. Do you have a fitbit? That has been a life saver for me on my higher burning days....btw...did you mean to put 50k? I have never heard of one but that sounds like a lot, if so.
  • Im much heavier than you but I can lose by eating 2500+ on my very active days. Im not sure what my maintenance would be. I think if I'm not active at all its usually 1500+/-. This is why I hate rest days because I like food lol
  • Love "quit switching between plans" - story of my life. I need to give this time to see if it works. I have a habit of switching from MFP to WW. I know I can lose quickly on WW because of the low calories but it is never sustainable long term. I wish I could just quit! I need to stick to MFP, it works!
  • underestimates for me. I only set mine to sedentary because i have it synced to fitbit to give me more calories for fitness level
  • I personally don't log any exercise and just have fitbit do all the work. If I stay within fitbits allowed calories when I have MFP set to sedentary, I lose.
  • I agree with Kalei. My husband has lost around 40 pounds in 4-5 months because he ate back what fitbit said he could. He rarely goes over but sometimes does eat 3,000+ calories because of his activity level. It has been really accurate. I think its all about finding something you can stick to and trusting the process.
  • Im glad you posted this even though it is old. I binged last night because I had way too much junk in the house and I was tired of eating within calories. I have always wondered how to manage this especially with hormonal fluctuations (sometimes I stay in calories easy and sometimes I can eat every bit of junk I see). I…
  • When I get in the 180’s I’m going to get my hair done. The ends are awful now and it needs colored really bad but in order to motivate myself, I’m forcing myself to wait. After that we are going on vacation in July where they have an outlet mall. If I get to the 170’s, I’m going to buy myself 2 outfits. I don’t really…
  • Along with getting the calories up, make sure you are getting in enough water
  • nope, I just don't count those steps. I wish there was a way for them to update and make that problem better but Im not sure how. I feel bad for people that try to walk pushing a stroller or something.
  • you don't have your diary open so no one can see what you're eating, that is even if you track. Vegetarians also get on this site...I have a hard time believing that a vegetarian that eats NO processed foods would have any issues with weight.
  • holy cow kcmsmith, it says to eat 2300 for losing 10%. That is pretty awesome if true!!
  • heybales, thank you so much for being so willing to respond and help to understand. Im going to try eating fitbit for a week and see where that takes me. I think I should be ok because sometimes it is low on my less active days. With that said, it may be low for a few days because I got injured on my last weight lifting…
  • I looked up reviews on that scale. The only problem I see is that some people are complaining it has gone downhill since Nokia bought them. Do either of you have the newer one that could say one way or another?
  • Im with janice. I bought the first one and it quit syncing. Im thinking of trying the next one hoping that they have improved it. If not, and something goes wrong in the first year I want to make sure to call fitbit and get it corrected before warranty is up.
  • I’m also learning all calories are not created equal. I ate cookies last night and I could barely do the work today :(
  • Please dumb this down for me a bit. Are you saying it would be best to set my calories to 1.5 pounds lost, whatever that is and then on workout days just log them as an hour of calisthenics and eat that?
  • exactly!! It has taken me 4 weeks of consistent exercise and my weight is FINALLY starting to slowly go down. You can't use the scale for motivation because its not always a good indicator of success. As far as the person that says they only weigh in once a week and never gain, I find that very hard to believe. Either that…
  • lost more this morning. Seems like 4 weeks was the magic number that finally sent me downward :)
  • Thank you heybales! I am 198 pound female that is 5'7 so I have a ways to go. They did a body scan of me it said I have only 122 pounds of lean body mass at this time. She is hoping that will increase and my fat will decrease in the next three months. With that said, I am not sure HIIT is exactly. That was the closest thing…
  • if you ask me that is really good. You have to give it time. If the scale is your only motivation you will never last. You have to enjoy your work out plan and be motivated regardless of the ups and downs of the scale. I say this because I have had to say the same things to myself over the last month. I have fallen in love…
  • I do HIIT style workouts an hour a day 3-4 days a week and walk every day for at least 30 minutes until Winter lets up and then I plan on restarting C25K outside which I greatly miss. My fitbit would give me just for walking 1700-1800, on HIIT days, it gives me up to 2500 but Im going to try to stay around 1700-2000. It…
  • Oh ok. I just started getting more strict with logging. I went through a while where I just didn’t care. I hate those phases because they don’t get me anywhere. Thank you for your response. Maybe what I need is just more consistency whatever I choose.
  • Oh sodium sodium... that’s a huge challenge but I know true. I woke up to swollen fingers this morning. Why does the salty things have to taste so good
