I don't track water because I am not convinced it is essential I get 8 -8 oz glasses a day. I believe the liquid in my food also helps hydrate me. However, if I did track water, and when I am thinking about how much water I managed to drink in a day, I count water whether it has MIO or lemon. I don't drink it any other…

I do not track my water. I don't drink nearly as much as everyone says you should. I never have and never will. I take a diuretic for my BP. I already pee constantly. My urine is always light in color so I know I am not dehydrated.

I think you need to figure out what works best for you. For many, starving during the day will make them more likely to overeat at night even given the balance they have left. For me, I know my danger time is the evening. This is when my body wants food. I don't know why that is, but I really struggle at night. So, I…

I am not convinced this is true. The program only issues a warning if you eat less than a total of 1200 gross not net.

Have you considered that you may be building muscle. Because the same volume of muscle weighs more than the same volume of fat, if you lose fat but gain muscle the scale will not move as much as it would if you were not gaining muscle. You are still losing in such a case, though. Personally, I eat at least 1200 calories a…

I did, but please note that I said IF. I went to your first link. The studies don't all agree although the prevailing thought based upon studies is that there is no effect. Of course, I also know that what was discovered today can be disproven tomorrow which is why I said IF... In any case, diet soda itself will never make…

Since I don't see any way to edit my original post, I will update here. I have now walked 8.12 of my 24 mile goal.

Are you counting calories or some other such thing to be sure you are not eating more than you should?
-
Yes, you can lose weight without exercise. It is usually harder though. If you are not exercising you want to be sure you don't lose too quickly or you will be losing muscle which isn't likely to be replenished without exercise. Including exercise is a weightloss program is the best way to do it, but it is not the only…

I have read that artificial sweeteners cause your body to react the same way as sugar by increasing your insulin which can make you more hungry. If this is true, it is your response to that hunger that will make you gain weight not the artificial sweetener. I mostly stay away from artificial sweeteners because they…

My suggestion is to log how much you will eat as your snack before eating it. Then set aside just that amount. If you eat from a large bag, it will be very hard to control your portion.

It sounds possible, but will be a challenge. It requires you to lose almost 2 pounds a week. You can do it, but even if you only manage 30 or 40 by April, you will be well on your way to your ultimate goal of 50. Soooo, just begin today and see how you do. Tena

Don't let someone else control your behavior. To yell negative things at a stranger is really a sign of extremely poor character. It takes all kinds in the world, but don't let some baboon get in the way of your success! You CAN do this. Tena

When at the gym, just introduce yourself to people. Say hi when you see them each day. In the locker room, ask them about their workout. Move on to asking them about the things they like to do or their work. After a little while, ask them if they would like to get together for lunch, dinner, a drink whatever sometime. If…

If you know you are doing what you should, then just keep at it and you will eventually see results. The more we weigh, the faster we seem to lose (at least in the beginning). As we begin to see results, it is normal to see the numbers slow down. It is my understanding that for most people, a healthy average is 1/2 to 1…

I am going to set a small goal as compared to everyone else that I have seen, but for me I think it is realistic. I hope to walk 2 miles three times a week for a total of 24 miles. I will do other exercise such as aerobics, but that can't be counted in miles. If I make it back to the gym, I will easily surpass this by…

My goal is similar. I was thin my entire life. Until about 45 or so. In the past few years (since 50), I have really packed on the pounds! Good luck!

I think you only need to weigh it before cooking if it says "raw." If it says baked, or broiled, etc., then it means the cooked weight. At least for my other diet program that is how it works. Tena

I would love to be a dietbuddy, but I am not going to give up sweets. If that is ok with you, send me a friend request. If you only want those giving up sweets, I guess I am out. For me, that is just not sustainable over the long term. Tena

I would like one of the spots please. I am assuming you haven't already got your max number so I created a post in the other thread. If I am wrong, just delete my post and I will wait for next month. Thanks. Tena

I also weigh myself every day. I know everyone says not to, but I will continue to do so. If I see an uptick one day, I don't let it worry me. I also don't enter into my weight tracking (it is a mental thing for me). However, if the uptick lasts several days it gets entered and I know I am not doing what I need to do. Your…

Welcome. I am also new. I find this site incredible. I especially love the mobile app. It makes it so easy to track foods. Good luck on your weightloss journey. Tena

I don't drink coffee, but I did when I was younger. I started out sweet and light, but gradually weened myself to black with no sugar. If you just put in a little less cream and sugar every few days, you will gradually get to black no sugar without really noticing the change over time. I did this back in the day to save…

I'm in, but, then again, I don't drink anyway. For those who do drink, consider how many calories you will save. Why not set a goal not to drink until you lose X amount of weight? Say 20 pounds. Then have one drink and get back on for another 20 right up until you reach your goal.
