  • Thanks everyone. I read the thread about the fix to the adjustments. I am going to go with the default of NO negative adjustments. I have my profile set to sendentary and am alloted 1200 calories a day plus exercise. This works for me and I don't want it to change. Tena
  • Don't be discouraged. 5lbs is 5 lbs. Just resolve to do something about the failure. Have you really been faithful about following your weightloss and exercise plan? If not, make up your mind right now to become faithful to your plan. You can do this and it will be worth it in the end If you have then just keep at it. It…
  • Another good choice is Cardio Trainer. I use the free version. It is also GPS based, but can do step based if you are indoors and it plays music while you walk if have it on your phone.
  • Wow!!!!
  • I am really sorry that you lost your Mom and at such a young age, but I commend you for making the decision to make different choices. Your Mom would be (is) proud of you! I know you can do this! I suggest including exercise - even if it is just walking. It makes the journey easier. One it raises your metabolism and two,…

  • Why do so many people on this site give unsolicited advice? The OP didn't ask for advice regarding how many calories she eats a day. She is just venting.
  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Well, many claim you will go into starvation mode and your body will cling to your fat if you eat too few calories. I know you will eventually lose weight regardless of how few calories you eat. This is evidenced by those with eating disorders and those starving in third world countries. However, you will lose a lot of…
  • What he said. I read an article that indicated the need to drink 8 glasses of water a day is a myth and it was never grounded in any facts or study. However, it has been what people are told for so long now that no one really bothers to look at the true science about it.
  • I have now walked 19.67 of my pledged 24 miles.

  • I think you may have to go through a period of withdrawal where you are more tired than you would like to be while giving up the energy drinks. I would also recommend a good multivitamin. I know for me, this is crucial to any weightloss plan or else I am always exhausted. Beyond that, if you are tired, your body is sending…
  • I would say stop obsessing over what the "right way" is. There are far too many opinions for that. Why not go with what the program recommends and give it a chance to work. If you have already lost an inch on your waist I don't see how you can say this isn't working! Obviously it is! After you follow the program for a…
  • As long as you don't eat a lot of <20 calorie items each day...
  • Fruits and veggies are only free if you follow the "new" weightwatchers points system. If you are counting calories, they are not free. I track everything.
  • You seem to be losing weight so why not just do whatever you have done so far?
  • I can't use a lot of resistance because I have bad knees. However, a fast pace will help get the heart rate up.
  • The problem I have is if I cheat I don't get back on plan. I agree with you that one day does not matter, but for me, one day usually means the end.
  • My husband and I are also going out tonight on a double date with some friends. We are going to a place known for its ice cream (Kimball's Farm for those in Massachusetts). The other couple chose the venue. We are going to the one in Lancaster, MA that has a classic cars show every Friday night. I followed the advice of…
  • Of course it is still anonymous. No one who has received anything from me anonymously knows now either. It has remained anonymous. I didn't give you or anyone else on this site any details. Simply demonstrating that you rushed to an erroneous judgment. I am done arguing over this though. The OP was simply venting. I happen…
  • Whatever... A bit judgmental though, aren't you? I never said I wouldn't do for someone else if they didn't do for me. I have done quite a few things for people completely anonymously. That does not mean it is acceptable for others to lack simple courtesy and manners.
  • Not an acceptable excuse in my view. No matter how bad her day was, a simple thank you was in order.
  • If he is lying the praise will eventually die a natural death. When he doesn't become smaller, people will notice.
  • I was born in Portsmouth, NH and raised in Greenland, NH. In my early adulthood I lived in South Carolina, Okinawa - Japan, North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia. I now live in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
  • I have found that on this site, you will definitely find a number of people who are less than kind. They are like the proverbial former smoker. However, you will also find people who are supportive. Choose to befriend the supporters and ignore the others. But, at the same time, consider you asked a question. Were you just…
  • I have heard (not actually read the studies) that studies show that those who exercise as a part of a weightloss program are more likely to maintain the weightloss. In addition, for me, when I have killed myself exercising on a given day, I am much less likely to overeat because I don't want to feel like my effort was…
  • Because I am trying to lose weight, I use the scale because it is more accurate. However, since you are trying to gain weight, I see no harm in using measuring cups if your nutritionist feels it is best for you.
  • Congrats! You look wonderful!!!
