It sounds like you're doing it right to me! She sees Pop Tarts as a treat and that's why she asked for them! I have a place I order from in the UK that ship to France if you need them quickly: http://www.americansoda.co.uk/ They actually sell the goods manufactured in the US, rather than the European versions of items you…

I'm in the UK, so firearms are illegal to carry for civilians, as is pepper spray. However, when I arrived at university the female students were given rape alarms (I'm in a really safe city, so most of us found this unsettling). A good rape alarm should be enough to disable your attacker as the noise actually stops people…

The majority of my initial weight loss (first 65 pounds or so) melted off my upper body. So, I went from being an hour glass shape, which I had always been, to having less boobage and large hips and waist. Thankfully, the next 20 or so pounds seem to be coming off my lower body to even things out, as I was a very unusual…

I've had the most dreadful cold symptoms for 14 days since I had the flu jab and have felt exactly the same! Chew my own arm off hungry!! I presume it's because our bodies need the extra energy to fight off the virus, although I can't back this up with science. Sneezes, yes. Science, no!

You sound like you're on the right path to me! I second the food scale as a necessity. Weigh everything in grams as it's more accurate. I would also set your macros to 40/30/30 (carbs, protein, fats) if you haven't already, as MFP sets carbs quite high and protein quite low. Best of luck on your journey! :flowerforyou:

You look amazing!! Fantastic job!

Prednisone puts on weight for 2 reasons. Firstly, it causes you to become so hungry you could chew your own arm off. And then someone else's. Secondly, it causes water retention. If I had been tracking with MFP all those years I was on large doses of prednisone, I don't think I would have had as many issues with my…

I would take that test. However, a lot of women find their monthly cycle can be affected when they begin a new diet and exercise regimen. It usually regulates after a couple of months, but if you're concerned see your doctor.

Although there are genes that determine, for example, our predisposition to preferring high fat food, I don't believe they can really be blamed for people being overweight. Families of overweight individuals pass down their predisposition to poor choices as an environmental factor, rather than a genetic one, in the vast…

You can get Quest bars on Amazon

A few of those supplements will have significant calories in, especially the fish oil, so I would definitely count the calories in them! My coffee calories alone come to 150-200 a day, and that's using 2% milk, so I would count those too, unless you take it black.

I second the recommendation of getting allergy tested. A lot of women with PCOS are sensitive to sugars and certain types of carbs so it could be related to that. I have an allergy to certain grains that causes breathlessness too.

I take a new photo when I lose 7 pounds. All face shots up till now (I have only just plucked up the courage to buy a full length mirror). I then add the photos to my profile. I understand how you may find it all a little cringeworthy at first but honestly, it was one of the best decisions I made! When I couldn't see the…

Honestly, doctors know very little about nutrition. On a more pertinent note though, your TSH level is a little high. It could do with being nearer 2 or a little lower, so you should discuss your thyroxine dose being adjusted. I think seeing a nutritionist may be a step in the right direction as well.

Fruit and vegetables are 'free' in the Weight Watchers program because they have already calculated the calories onto your points total. They assume 5 servings of fruit and vegetables and automatically deduct it from your daily points total before they give it to you

Losing weight is all about calorie intake. I lost the first 40 pounds in a wheelchair and the rest not being very mobile at all. The one piece of advice I would offer to you is that your tracking has to be immaculate. Every single calorie counts when you aren't able to exercise so be extremely strict. If you don't have a…

Are you in the UK? What we call juice isn't the same. The diluting juice (the equivalent of using Crystal Light) doesn't make any difference to keeping you hydrated. If you find it difficult to drink water without the flavouring, just account for the calories and it's absolutely fine

Huge congratulations!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

The geek in me is overjoyed!! Thanks for sharing this!! :drinker:

The Fitbit is absolutely as accurate if you are sedentary. I am truly sedentary (I have mobility issues following ankle surgery) and rarely reach 3000 steps a day and find it is as accurate for me on those days, as well as days when I am a bit more active. I think you will really benefit from using a Fitbit!

If you go to My Home>Check In - there is a feature to track additional measurements. I would add them in there! ETA: If you track your steps using this feature, it will then give you a graph in the Reports section

   You got in there before me!! :flowerforyou:

I would highly recommend the Fitbit to measure your activity. Like you said, it wouldn't know how much weight you are pulling and so on, but would give you a good guide as to your general level of activity. I have the Fitbit One and love it! Have worn it constantly for 10 months and find its calorie estimates to be…

I have nothing to offer to the breastfeeding debate, as I have no children. I just wanted to say what a wonderful woman you are for being a surrogate! :flowerforyou:

The Fitbit isn't a HRM, it's an activity monitor. Which, I think, is more what you need. It will work out your actual TDEE more accurately than guesswork on a website. You may find you are more active than you think in which case you could eat more  I have the Fitbit One. Love it! Have used it constantly for 10…

Luckily, the weather isn't too bad for walking in Scotland yet so that 3 hour walk to Loch Lomond will be beautiful. You'll have to find some fun activities in the area to keep those calories manageable. It's time to be creative. And, you may not find it as difficult on 1200+ calories this time you are a different size…

Batch cooking is your friend as has already been suggested. I cook up 4 servings of a meal, whether it be spaghetti bolognese or curry and freeze 3 servings of it. That way, when I am busy, I just defrost a serving of it for dinner. I've already calculated the calories and saved it as a meal on here, so I don't even have…

Although WW allows you to eat unlimited fruit and vegetables, the expected calories from them are actually built into your daily points total. So you have that buffer already built in. When calorie counting, you need to count everything including fruit and veges. The calories, especially in fruit, can add up quickly!
