Age, genetics, rate of weight loss and your total weight loss all have a part to play in the loose skin you may be left with. I am not having a major problem with it so far. Ultimately, however, I realise that after losing close to 200 pounds at my journey's end, I will probably have some loose skin. But I would rather…

It's vacation time. There's usually an increase in 'OMG - Summer is approaching and I NEED to fit into my bikini, has anyone tried raspberry ketones mixed with fairy dust to lose weight while cleansing' posts, from late May till about late July. Then, there is fewer posts in general over the summer when everyone…

Run away. Even with a bad foot! Run as far away as you can! :noway: Your gut instinct says this is dodgy and it certainly sounds that way to me too. You know you can lose weight the safe, healthy way. Recommit yourself to using MFP and stay away from unsafe, unhealthy programs! Best of luck! :flowerforyou:

I have tried both WW and MFP. I did lose weight on WW, but about 8 times less than I have using MFP. I think the success of either really depends on personal preference. If you are doing WW online, you don't have the motivational side of getting weighed in front of a group of people (that was not motivational for me,…

When you add in your exercise goals (eg 1 hour/5 times a week), they are just a reference point for you to keep track of the amount of exercise you are doing. They don't actually affect the amount of calories MFP gives you in a day. So, just stick with the calories you have been given and you won't have any exercise…

I have CFS and wouldn't do any sort of liquid diet. If I didn't eat, I know it would sap me of energy completely! You don't need to exercise to lose weight, just eat within a calorie deficit. You already know what you have to do as you have been successful. Please don't look for any quick fixes, there are…

I am wondering this as well. Is it just that you always had the offers of these things, but only realise now you have embarked upon a new regimen how often it actually happened?

I also have an electronic Salter food scale and I love it! I weigh everything religiously now, after not weighing my food for 2 weeks (after all, I had measured everything for 9 months, I decided I knew what my portion sizes looked like, right? WRONG! I was 25-50% out on some items!). I would recommend a one with the…

I also grew up in Asia. At 6 foot and 140 pounds I was considered fat. Of course, I wasn't, I just looked big compared to everyone else because of my height, meaning my build was obviously larger than someone who was 5 foot 1! You know that you weren't fat at all. Try and get rid of those ideas and move forward. How I wish…

I wouldn't recommend this. The only form of allergy testing that is reliable is either the skin scratch test or a blood test.

Thank goodness the dog seems ok!!

Bumping to find out how the poor dog is!!

That is truly brilliant! Well done! :flowerforyou:

Every Saturday morning, first thing after morning ablutions. Naked. On the same square of flooring in the kitchen (my bathroom floor is really uneven). With the blinds firmly shut so I don't scare the neighbours! I used to take 3 readings and go with the repeated one, but now I have new scales, all 3 readings would…

I would stick with what you're doing. You are losing weight at 1700-1800 calories, which sounds about right for your activity level. You KNOW this is working, whereas the best guess of someone else is just that, a guess. ETA: I couldn't live on 1200 calories a day either!

I honestly don't think your tummy is due to your thyroid problems. I think it's a direct result of being in a wheelchair, as your core muscles are not being used to the same degree as if you were walking. My closest friend uses a wheelchair and it's the one area of her body she has to work on religiously. I would suggest…

I would begin by focusing on the calories alone. The rest, you will learn along the way! :flowerforyou:

As others have mentioned, LidL and Aldi may be the shops to go for. If you buy fresh fruit or vegetables out of there, they don't tend to keep as long as the produce from the supermarkets. But to eat that day or the next, they are much cheaper!

I have fibro too, as well as a few other chronic conditions, so know how you feel. As others have already stated, you don't need to exercise to lose weight. All you need to do is stick with your calorie target. I lost the first 45 pounds sitting in a wheelchair not even able to stand up, simply by following the calorie…
-
I would just follow the calories you've been given on here. I felt full too at the beginning because you suddenly become aware of exactly what you are putting in your body. 2000 calories of nutrient dense food fills you up better than 2000 calories of less healthy food (I hate the term junk food) and soda. You sound like…

The scales in my local Boots are off too. I got weighed twice in a row and it gave me two different weights, that were 8 pounds different. And 4 stone (56 pounds) heavier than my scales and the doctor's scales weighed me! It also measured my height at 5 foot 4. And then 5 foot 7. I'm 6 foot! :noway:

They work on the same principal as Alli, being fat binders. My experience using Alli was not pleasant at all! You get greasy, horrible, uncontrollable anal leakage. Even following a diet that was not high in fat. Honestly, I would steer clear of these pills. Follow a calorie controlled diet using MFP, throw in as much…

Freddie Mercury. I was a teenager and was devastated.

Have you set your activity level correctly? 1200 calories is not enough for the vast majority of people but definitely not enough for doing your job! With it being that low, I wonder if you have your level set to sedentary. I agree with the poster who suggested lowering your goals as long term, 1200 is not feasible.

My goal weight BMI is 19. Although I'm 6 foot, I have a tiny frame for my height! Of course, if I feel I look good before that point, I'll happily stop losing!

Once a week. After morning ablutions. Same day, same time, same place (down to the last tile on the floor), naked (I live alone, so nobody has to witness this  ). I couldn't weigh myself more often. I realise that other people prefer to, and record their daily fluctuations and are happiest doing this. If I weighed…

I lost the first 45 pounds sitting in a wheelchair unable to stand up, let alone exercise, for months after surgery. Just stick to your calorie target and you will lose weight! Best of luck! :flowerforyou:

Could you leave a few calories for a small snack at night? Maybe if you have something light to take the edge off the hunger, by the time the tablets kick in you will be able to drift off. Before the sensation of needing even more food does!
