I would trade everything to be able to say this.

Congrats on dropping the 65! 1. What exactly is your primary goal? I think that is important to establish before heading down one road or another. Drop more fat? Gain muscle? 2. After eating at a deficit for nearly 2 years, reversing into a bulk was tricky for me and my binge habits. I do NOT want to scare you, but it is…

Hi all. Jeff here. Here goes the cramming of 44 years into a few lines.. Born and raised in Mississippi. Been in the Dallas area since '98. Yes, I am old/44. Sports was pretty much my life into my 20s, so the activity kept me pretty fit despite lots of beer and crap food. I settled into a desk job (software development)…

I am hungover. Don't even want to think about this topic. :drinker:

I do not get that many FRs, so I accept all. However, I do prune my list. If someone is not active or never interacts.. *snip*. Definitely prefer quality over quantity.

I hit Chipotle 3-4 x/week for lunch. Recently moved from double to triple meat. Is Chipotle "healthy"? Not sure that is the right question.

Great post, OP. Yep, heavy weight in my hands or on my back.

I started at nearly 230 at 5'10" with a medium frame a little over 2 years ago. Have been in the 170s for about 9 months, and I do have a binge happy sweet tooth. Pretty much what Ben said..eat at a slight deficit. Weigh, measure, & log everything. Do some sort of resistance training.

175% of BW for a double. Have not tried 1RM. Been squatting 6 months. Recently switched from high to low bar and still getting comfortable. Hope to hit 200% BW by end of the year but currently fighting a quad strain.

I am so confused now. Am I on a diet or not? I better start a thread to get this sorted out.

Agreed..Congrats on the progress. I like the no BS success stories. Control calories and sweat.

Fantastic, Charlene! You should be quite proud.

Yep. I just completed my first 6 months of 5/3/1 running on a 4 day split with accessory work each day. Limited accessory work on squat & deadlift days..more on bench & OHP days. I like swapping out assistance work every 4-8 weeks and sometimes even day to day depending on how I feel.

I pulled 385 yesterday @ BW of 180. According to http://www.strstd.com/ elite level for my weight is 433. I have only been at for 6 months, so maybe I can get there before long.
-
Yea, just check out some powerlifting videos on YouTube. Lot of guys out there that are not that big moving huge weights.

I struggle with pretty much the exact same thing. I have not solved the problem, but I am in for hearing what others have done to cope. Removing the problem foods from my home is not an option for me. I have made progress despite these episodes, but I could be much farther along.

Meal timing does matter, but there is no one size fits all. Experiment and see what works best for your goals.
