I had forgotten how helpful it is to meet fruit and veggie goals in keeping calories under control. By the time I fill up on those I don't have as much room for the sweets I love. 😊

This looks like the group I need. I'm determined to lose 20 pounds. I've done it before but let the weight slowly return. I have started logging my food again and have set veggie/fruit/water intake goals as well. The work I do keeps me busy but not too busy to cheer others on and receive some cheering as well. 😊

I really love the "Designer Whey" proteins for taste. It comes in at 100 calories, 2 grams fat, 18 grams of protein. Variety of flavors available as well. (pretty sure I have seen banana) I add soy milk sometimes to up the protein. I also like to start with vanilla flavor and add fruit of my choice to change flavors.…

So I did not meet my goals I set yesterday. I got involved in a big organizing project in my basement and went too long without eating and then binged. Rookie mistake, right? Today I will only set the goal of allowing myself only one after dinner snack. (Hubby and I have a dinner out planned) And I will meet my water goal.…

So happy I found this thread. Much of what has been posted on the last couple of pages could have been written by me. I made my goal weight 5 years ago and then let it slowly return. I have been struggling for the past year to really finally get it off! I feel like I am spinning my wheels. I know what it takes but allow…

My name is Shannon. I am 47 years old. I live on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. I love to hike in the woods and dunes near us. I also like to bike. I love, love, love to laugh. I have no children of my own but spend loads of time with my nieces and nephews who live nearby. My husband is my best friend and the…

My why is "why has this question stumped me"? I have sat here for the last 10 minutes pondering the question. I keep going back to the thought that I want to feel like me again. I have spent most of my life fit and trim. About 8 years ago I slowly began gaining weight; I did gain control of that for a short while…

This is my new favorite salad: Shred carrots and beets, add chopped apple, a few walnuts and dried cherries (or cranberries), then add a little lemon. This stores well in glass jars in the fridge. When it is time to eat I place the shredded veggies on a bed of green lettuce, or kale, or spinach; add feta and homemade honey…

My cats name is Pepino but hubby calls him Keely McAlister. (which I actually like better). He is gorgeous and knows it. I love how as I am waking up in the morning he sits on my chest and purrs and then as my husband comes in to say good-bye for work Keely looks at him as if to say "oh, YOU'RE still here?" When it is…

Leida! So great to see you here. I am Shannon from BS. Remember when we did the forum on "what's for dinner?" After a while we were the only 2 posting! Anyway, I will send you a friend request and we can keep an eye on each other and cheer each other on! :)

I met my husband when I was 35. We met at our place of worship. He was recently divorced and my first thought was, "he looks really sad." We ended up working around each other and I quickly picked up on his sense of humor. We became friends and fell in love. He is the best thing to ever happen to me.
