  • Killeen, TX! It's basically Ft. Hood...45 mins from Round Rock, 1 hr to Austin. Also did my undergrad at Rice in Houston. Feel free to add me!
  • Love that race analogy!
  • I also weigh myself every day, but only try to record the weight once a week. I don't let water weight fluctuations demotivate me. I basically just do it every day because I'm inpatient lol
  • I definitely heard great things about Couch 2 5K like very one else has mentioned.
  • To answer your question about lifestyle, think of it this way. The lifestyle pertains to how active you are not including added exercise. It's easier to think of it in terms of your job. Does your job require a lot of activity? A teacher may be considered "lightly active" and a kickboxing instructor would be "very active".…
  • You've lost 4 lbs in a little over a month. That's just under 1 lb per week, which is perfectly healthy. You can actually lose 2 lbs per week and that's ok. If you are worried about muscle, do more strength training and make sure to refuel properly after the workout. Chocolate milk is the perfect protein drink for muscles,…
  • I agree! Alcohol is not my problem, but I like to eat everything except the kitchen sink afterwards. I just can't drink while I'm trying to lose weight or else it turns into a pizza delivered or some cheese-sticks at the restaurant! But to answer the original post: wine, light beers (or Guinness), and liquor +…
  • Try to up your calorie intake by 100 cal. It sounds counterintuitive, but your body is holding onto extra weight because it fears starvation. Increasing calories will restart your metabolism and your body will begin to burn again. And as the previous person mentioned, watch your sodium intake. Best of luck!
  • I've started many times, but I'm going to start again in February. Running a half marathon (my first!) in April and it's so much easier to train without alcohol in my system at all. Feel free to add me so we can support one another!
  • Feel free to add me too! I'm a graduate student wrapping up my Masters by this August. I like to do Zumba, but have put that on pause to train for my first half-marathon. I've never run more than 4-5 miles, so I'm nervous but excited. Hoping to lose a bit of weight in the training process too
  • 26 years old. Last year of grad school! Trying to lose 20-25. Add me!
  • Hi everyone! I was at my lightest when graduating fro college, but 5 years, 2 career changes, and one wedding later I have put on some pounds. My husband is currently deployed, so I'm using this time to whip myself back in shape! Name: Montoya SW: 150 CW 148.6 GW: 125 Goals: Fit all my old clothes that I'm still hanging…
  • Yes, track everything! Drinks can be a hidden source of additional calories. Those calories are treated no different than food calories in the body. Good luck with your weight loss journey!
  • One pound of muscle weighs the same as in round of fast. The fistprt commenter who mentioned this, bphowever, says muscle weight more than fat (not that it's a 1:1 ratio). They probably meant muscle is more DENSE than fat. Meaning that if you look at the same volume (physical size) of muscle versus fat, the muscle will…
  • I''m on 1200...I usually have a big breakfast (~400 calls) of foods like steel cut oats, eggs, or greek yogurt. I do need snacks between meals to keep my blood sugar steady, but I taper down to a smaller dinner (~250-300), which usually incorporates a lean protein or fish and veggies. I exercise, but don't use up those…
