No, haha a mock-Oktoberfest in Columbus, Ohio. Our famous Schmidt's sausage house has a food stand and I can't resist!

Yes I've seen that, but "thick" is relative to what you might think "small" is. With that being said I can't find out how thick a 130 calorie piece of bologna is.
-
Yes I understand that google solves all problems, however, it doesn't tell me how many calories are in a thick cut piece of bologna

Make sure you are spacing your water out. I found that when I crammed all of my water in a different points throughout the day it would eventually lead to a hungry stomach, starting to think my stomach was stretching.

I'm a big fan of almonds. But they can be expensive... my favorite snacks are yogurt, pretzels, and hard boiled-eggs. Bananas are a great hunger killer too I find.
-
I find them around $1.50-$2, which is about the same at any coffee shop.

Focus on what makes you happy! Kicking yourself on the scale every day is not a good start, but remaining healthy for your family's sake is important.

Does it do calorie content???
-
That equation is giving me a huge number.

how do I figure it out knowing my heart rate?

What about peeing outside at a party or tailgate or something? :-D

I'm going to have to try the yager and monster! Sounds yummy!

Oh also, tonic water has calories, so you might steer clear of vodka/tonic.

Any highball made with diet sodas are good. That is 80 proof whiskey or plain vodka with diet soda. Stay away from fruit juices and sweetened whiskey. Also, if its more low key (not likely!) dry red wine is about 120 cals per 4-5oz serving. You can also do wine spritzers which is wine mixed with diet lemon-lime soda (or…

Wow everyone! I'm overwhelmed with support here! Didn't think anyone was listening. Maybe I need to learn a lesson in patience first. I have been looking at the success stories and they are wonderful! But everyone is right, the one thing that is similar in each story is the amount of time it takes, which sadly, is longer…

Elliptical is a total body workout, even though the impact is low and you don't feel like death (as you do when you run). If you want to really burn calories then swimming is another good option.

Have you ever thought about going on a detox? Not something crazy like whatever that spicy lemonade thing is, but a raw vegetable and lean protein only detox. Forcing yourself to eat "plain" food (no salt, no sugar, no processed anything) for a few days helps to "reset" your tastebuds. I was able to kick my sugar addiction…

Hey! I know how to cook! My wife thinks I should have been a chef :-)

The article below fits my scenario. Yesterday I ran the farthest I'd ever run since high school (8 years ago). So maybe I'm experiencing the water retention deal. Also, combined with too much salt and I'm a recipe for the michelin man effect.

I've been counting cals for a few years now, so I don't think I'm making errors. My clothes don't really feel looser, so I'm thinking I'm taking in too much salt. Salt is so freaking hard to cut out of a low calorie diet! The foods that are low cal have no taste, so salt is added, the foods that are high calorie don't need…

I do the early morning thing too, and I've found that a glass of fiber does the trick. Then I eat afterwards. The fiber not only keeps you full, but helps to keep you.... regular :-)

What does bump mean?

@msf74 hahahah! I kind of felt the same way about. The only thing he didn't talk about was when to do cardio in that mix. Almost made it seem like it wasn't necessary, but I find that hard to believe. I admit though, I rode the elliptical machine, but only because I didn't feel like trying to breathe in freezing air while…

I'm just realizing that I am taking in way more sodium then I should be. Kind of disturbing. Thanks so much for some ideas!

I admit that my diet is higher in salt. I find it very hard to eat foods that are low in calories and not high in salt, otherwise they really don't seem to have a taste! I take fiber powder everyday, but I have heard that can make you bloat too. I try to drink at least a gallon of water a day to flush the system, but I'm…

You may be building muscle in place of the weight you lost, especially since you say that your clothes feel loose... this means your shedding inches!

Ok, sounds like I need to get back on the bandwgon! I posted this only 30 minutes ago! Boy this site is supportive :) Thanks everyone for their thoughts. Dieting alone is hard. Dieting AND exercising is double trouble because the exercise makes me hungry. I'm going to do my best today. Thanks again everyone! Have a happy…

It does tell how many calories, but I don't know how much I should trust these fitness machines. I really don't think that I'm burning almost 500 calories in 30 minutes on an elliptical machine! Otherwise I would be as skinny as a rail! This machine is killer though, like a combo of strength, anaerobic and aerobic workout…

As far as I can tell you can drink as much as you want, but at the end of the day its calories taken in vs. burned. I'm in the same boat, I love my happy hours! But the problem with drinking is that it packs a lot of calories. HArd liquor and diet soda or no calorie mixer is the best bet. Also, the eating while drinking…
