There is a group on here specifically for IF, you'll find more info there. What method are you following? As far as I'm aware, most people who are following Eat Stop Eat fast all day and have a 500calorie dinner, otherwise you don't get the health benefits associated with 24 hour fasts from eating snacks throughout the day.

Well you arn't really are you. I'm guessing you've got your intake set to "want to lose 2lbs a week" or 1.5lbs etc. This pretty much means MFP has taken 1000 calories from your "Maintainance" level of eating. This means that you actually only overate by 400, which for one day, isn't going to make much difference at all.…

Both. Morning cardio I always do fasted, followed up with a shake and a high protein meal an hour later. Evening weights, I would have eaten 3 meals by then...

For me, heavy lifting is where I can do a maximum rep of 8 per set and generally can't do any more than 3 sets.

Instead of this.. For breakfast: homemade smoothie, with Greek nonfat yogurt, 1/2 banana, apple juice and frozen strawberries (203 cals) For lunch: chicken, sliced carrot, lettuce, lite Italian dressing, 1/2 banana (404 cals) Plans for dinner: quinoa, grilled salmon fillet, steamed broccoli, raw spinach (280 cals) Total :…

Same! WW practically gave me an eating disorder! I didn't eat for 2 days straight before a weigh in because I'd get asked if I had had a binge during the week if I was the same weight or higher - then I'd stuff myself after the meeting. Such a waste of money..but I have to give WW credit for making me find a better way of…

Bump, simply amazing!

My favourite meal is.. Turkey Roulade, stuffed with mozzarella and basil, wrapped in trimmed bacon on a bed on smashed new potatoes mixed with spinach My favourite snack is.. Non fat Cottage cheese with honey and blueberries with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. Just loooove food!!! Darn I'm a good cook..

Eat Burgen Soya and Linseed Bread - it's AAMAZING, packed full of protein, good fats, fibre and only 14g carbs per slice

I'll reward myself with smaller clothes when I go down sizes!

I have had a similar experience. Not eating enough NET calories put me in a 3 week plateau. It is extremely vital that you consume at least 1200 calories a day - I was doing this and exercising 600 off, so my weight loss/fat loss stalled. Only when I started consuming 1400 net calories a did the fat start coming off again.…

I'm on here to help myself primary, not other people! Also, I don't track most days - because I'm in a good eating routine eating mainly cottage cheese, turkey and a variety of fruits and veggies. I know if I've eaten enough or too much. I also don't fancy smart alecs, people who don't know my training and eating schedule…

How long did you do each of these for and in what combination? If you open your food diary, we can give you advice on where you might be going wrong. There isn't an optimal calorie or exercise because you have to keep changing it depending on what you do in the the day, the time of month etc..

How does your body process food differently than other people? All my family is skinny, but I'm not. Genetics is not really an excuse. If you ate 1400 calories and walked for an hour every day, sure as hell you'd lose weight!
-
Potaotes and whole grain rice are clean foods, organic is a farce - in the UK it is anyway, I think it possibly has more gravitas in the US
-
For me, I don't see it as a "thing" - it's just normal eating!! But then I've never really eaten ready meals or much processed stuff. You can get fat from eating too much clean food!
-
If you've been eating like that for years then you probably don't need to lose any weight and your body would have adjusted to compensate for it. Why do you want to increase your metabolism?
-
Since when? It would do everyone some good supplementing green tea, omega 3,6 & 9 and some vitamin D and B vitamins into their diet.
-
It's healthy - like anything eaten in moderation. It's a very clean food if you buy the right brand, it should contain only peanuts and salt. High protein and fat, good on toast, pancakes and it has a natural sweetness without containing any sugars. It's good for people who find it hard to get to their daily intake as 1…

Miracle noodles - ugh! Any low fat butter or margarine - does not taste like butter, what's the point? Aubergine/egg plant, the only veggie I don't like

^ this. The exact same thing has happened to me, has been bothering me for over a month. I spoke to a trainer yesterday who said to keep my cardio minimal i.e. don't do anything which causes pain, and massage the muscle every few hours, especially before and after exercise. You can use a roller to massage the calf or just…

^ this, and all the thin people i know have no idea how much they weigh and 90% don't exercise.

I have difficulty stopping drinking so im often up 3 times during the night having to pee. But if I drink less than 3 litres, i get swollen ankles, retain water and my aerobic and lifting capabilities decrease. The peeing is worth it.

It sounds like he's a root veggie person. Try sweet potato, carrot and leek dauphinoise, or anything covered in cheese sauce - you can make it healthier by using cottage cheese, blended till smooth, mixed with salt and pepper and a bit of mustard to enhance the cheesiness. Otherwise...tell him that's what he's getting and…

"I've lost 2% body fat and gained 2% muscle since exercising but everything else is going in the wrong direction" Errr...how is this going in the wrong direction? Would you rather have the same bf% with a lower number on the scale? Is this is trick question? :-/
-
I do too, and have the problem that I can't wear cute boots. After -50lbs, they DO get smaller, because of fat loss and my health has increased so I don't get swollen ankles as much or water retention. I now have 2 pairs of boots that just about fit them :-) Persevere and it will pay off!!

Have you been using a tape measure? Weight loss is not linear.. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Elleinnz/view/weighing-daily-don-t-believe-the-scale-135325 http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html

This is a 5:2 "Eat, Stop, Eat" method of intermittent fasting. If you want to know more, visit the IF forum and read Brad Pilons Book

Yes, totally normal!! Because of my heavy lifting routine - it changes week to week - I find myself putting on 2lbs some weeks, then losing 3 or 4 the next. Weight loss is not linear, but consistency is key. Some people see that they have put on a lb or stayed the same and get the "oh this isn't working, i'll try something…
