Thanks for the advice :-) I do feel it after 3 sets of 20, just not as much as my shoulders do! I think I'm just not lifting heavy enough with the squats, as I do feel it with my dead lifts. The 141 kgs does feel like hard work, I was puffing and sweating like crazy, but it just doesn't hurt..although now from what I've…

1) Eggs 2) Green vegetables - Broccoli, Spinach, Cucumber 3) Turkey - cheap and lean 4) Real butter, none of that "light" crap 5) Burgen Soya and Linseed bread, because I like sandwiches and it's full of protein, fibre and healthy fats, and low carb.

I didn't mean literally butt to floor lol... Just a deep goblet squat! I was doing "normal" squats with a barbell and yet still toppled over, the weight just doesn't feel right when not central to my body.

Who the hell do you think you are? You know nothing about me apart from what i've written here about squats...you have no idea what my workout looks like.
-
Awesome, thanks! I'm going to see how squatting "hugging" a few plates will work and do a 5x5 routine instead.

I take Cellulor C4. I have to do it wide legged because I have a mild case knock knees and I have bad balance. The only pain/discomfort I feel after workouts is in my shoulders/upper arms. I increased my leg press yesterday from 79kg to 141kg and still feel nothing ;-/ When I hold the plate, it feels like it's not making…

I have actually unintentionally done this the last 3 weeks. Eat perhaps 200 calories under maintenance, lift heavy, do a little HIIT.

I have streamlined my routine to be as efficient as possible - I'm a busy person and I don't like to do things which have no point. My visits are 1 hour max, including the 10/15 mins it takes to shower and get changed. Lifting routine - Dead lifts 4 x 10 Squats 3 x 20 Shoulder press 4 x 10 Tricept Dips 4 x 15 Press Ups -…

If you could please open your food diary, it would be easier to advise you where you might be going wrong. Remember to log everything you eat, and drink.

Ok, so I just changed my MFP settings to "lightly active" and it still reccomends 1200 a day..weird, am I doing this wrong? I can't find anywhere to change my TDEE

Ok thanks, I'm studying which is why i'm sedentary and I don't own a tv :-P What's a toque?

I can only speak for myself when I say that heavy lifting using free wrights has been a god send. I am now the same or less measurements as I was this time last year, but 16lbs heavier! Just shows how irrelevant the scale is! I suggest googeling a lot, and finding out what other people with similar goals to yours have done.

This!! You're still alive aren't you?

Scrambled with a pinch of salt and butter in the pan. Ham or bacon on the side, roasted tomatoes and chives sprinkled on the top. http://yummygalley.tumblr.com/post/39842257984

It's better than processed sugars. I have a teaspoon in tea and coffee instead of sugar, it's slightly lower calorie too.

^agreed! Here are some articles I have written about how eating breakfast to "stoke the metabolic fire" is nonsense and the health benefits of intermittent fasting (skipping breakfast) http://yummygalley.tumblr.com/post/41859144184/myth-eat-frequently-to-stoke-the-metabolic-fire…

^^ this!! Do NOT listen to the people who are saying to lift lighter for more reps. Your muscles are only bigger from water and glycogen retention. I have lost 30lbs, my arms look "bigger" but they are actually now 3 inches smaller, just more defined due to a lower bf%. Trust me and the experts, keep at it and it's improve.

There is nothing you can take that will increase your metabolism, the main ingredient in "weight loss tablets" is caffeine. There are good herbal supplements you can take though that helps your body work better, providing you with vitamins and minerals that you can't get from food (unless you eat a lot of it). Ecgc - green…

Hes's not saying that you can't do it another way, thousands of other people obviously have, but this was his choice (and mine) of doing it, because that is what works for him and I imagine he actually enjoys it and doesn't see it as "dieting".

To anyone who is interested, I have written two in depth articles about IF and it's 3 main methods - lean gains, 5:2 (eat stop eat) and The Warrior Diet. What is IF? http://yummygalley.tumblr.com/post/42541710879/how-i-lost-15-3lbs-in-28-days-with-intermittent Health benefits of IF?…

I walk to the gym, which takes 35 minutes so that is my warm up. I think it depends what your goals are. Want to run faster or longer as a main goal? Do that first. Want to lift heavier with more reps? Do that first. I condense my workout so cram in a lot of intense exercises. I lift heavy first for 30 minutes then 2 x 10…

No way...it's expensive and although "healthier" than a bag of crisps and a mars bar, the box will set you back no less than 600 calories. I'll stick with my fruit and veggie sticks!

Measurements changed?

Yep, which I have written about in the second article. Dr Michael Mosley spoke about this in the BBC Horizon Documentary "Eat, Fast and Live Longer" - Calorie restriction and IF is a recipe for a longer life reaching the possibilities of living 30% longer than an obese person, the body fat of an athlete and it becomes…

Pasta, rice and bread. My stomach becomes bottomless.

I time the end of my workout to coincide with the start of my eating window. I walk home (30 mins) and eat 300g cottage cheese with berries and 100g chicken. You don't have to have a shake, but you should eat a decent amount of protein with carbs within an hour of your workout to replenish your muscles. However if you have…

I'm really surprised that nobody had brought up that there are different types of elliptical machines. At my previous gym, I loved the elliptical, I would use it for 2 x 10 minutes and found it a tough workout when doing HIIT. When it was on a "rest" minute I would push it with just my feet and use my arms in a running…

Wow, you are really beautiful :-)

Incorrect. The pills are only effective when you eat 15g of fat _in each meal_. Around 50g of fat per day in total. If you take a pill with a meal containing less than 15g of fat, you might as well have just not bothered taking it!
