I eat 75% clean, just because I enjoy cooking from scratch and knowing that I'm fuelling my body with clean energy. You can lose weight, burn fat eating mcdonalds every day, but that would make me feel like crap.

14lbs... google it! What is significant to you may not match another persons definition of significant. Body re-composition starts in the kitchen, 90% of fat burning is the result of what you eat, not how hard you work out.

Really, no. I took this for a couple months last year and I literally **** myself in public, more than a couple times. And I didn't even know it was happening until I felt it running down my leg. Why did this happen? It works by stopping up to 30% fat being absorbed by the intestine. Don't want the nasty effects - simple,…

I injured both my ankles with Insanity after just 3 days! I've dropped over a stone this January from walking and using a kettlebell. All the DVD's, with the exception of Pilates and Yoga get your heart rate going by doing high intensity exercises like jumping etc.
-
And if you know that it's calculating double, then walk 20,000 steps.
-
How do you know that it's giving you the wrong information?
-
p.s. Wear a pedometer and aim to get AT LEAST 10,000 steps a day.

I have very bad balance too. I spend an hour every day, walking 5-6 miles and using a 7.5 and 12kg kettlebell when I get home. My balance has improved once I got under 200lbs, so now I run for 15 minutes 5 days a week too.

These medications did not "cause" you to gain weight - from a therapist who was on 4 different antipressants in her teens. Read this book "The Feel Good Factor" by Patrick Holford.

It depends who you are. Excess sugars make *me" fatter because I am sensitive to sugars. If I ate 1200 protein and 1200 carbs, my body would be effected in very different ways. But really it is more about calories in - calories out.

Hrdroxycut made me take 2 ovrdoses and go bulimic. It only "works" as a placebo and due to the amount of caffeine. Drink 3 litres of water a day, eat clean, exercise, have a few cups of tea. It really is that simple.

Red wine and Carrot Cake followed by drunk sugar high sex :-)

Well done!!! And I really mean that. I'm a walker/runner on the treadmill, I so alternate 6.9kmph walk and 11.2kmph run for 14 minutes. I do know how you feel, because only a few days ago I ran for 5 minutes instead on 90 seconds! Congratulations!!

Where are you from?
-
Nope, I do not restrict any type of food as a rule. I have only stopped eating white bread and rice because of this strange response!
-
Eggs, nuts, extra virgin olive oil. Simples!
-
Depends how fast you walk :-P I walk 2.5 miles in 30 minutes to my gym, when I take my jumper off, I already have sweat patches and a red face!

Thank you, very sweet of you to be so informational :-) As a therapist, I know some things about dopamine, but mostly related to certain behaviours. What I find interesting, is that I seem to have the surge/downer with only certain processed foods, not all. I've just been thinking about it, and it might have something to…
-
Ah thanks, I didn't know about the dopamine, I'll look into that!

I think wholemeal is just what us british/euro people call wholegrain. Any types of bread etc with grain in is usually called "seedy" bread.

Err, 2lbs a week for 4 months is 32 lbs, not 40..

I did lose weight eating 5/6 meals a day but I came obsessed with what I should eat, the quantity, the cost, timings, eating out, socialising, it almost put me into an eating disorder! I'm not saying this doesn't work for everyone, for some people, clearly you are one of them, it works perfectly. But not for me. Squashing…

Also, when reporting on your experiences, source books, studies and scienfific articles you've read to back up your points. e.g. I have had great success through intermittent fasting. I was drawn to this method after reading the books The 4 hour work week by Tim Ferris, Eat Stop Eat by Brad Pilon and watching the Horizon…

Say what you want to say, but two points of advice before you go any futher 1) Don't call people morons 2) Don't assume or infer that your way is the only way. You are free to have your own opinion on here. There are lots of METHODS for weight loss, different methods work for different people. I am very insulin sensitive,…

These things only exist because they know desperate suckers with more money than sense will buy into them. IMHO... Feeling desperate? Exercise an hour a day, continue to eat your 1500 calories a day. Fill your meals with ONLY with eggs, spinach, vegetables, nuts, seeds, baked potatoes and turkey and chicken. This will be…

Hi! This has happened to me too the last few days - i've just come on today so definitely water retention, I've gone up inches everywhere and I'm more hungry than just being a bit peckish. Keep with it and it'll go away soon!

The scale means nothing, especially in the first month. Get a tape measure.

^^ this. "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent" - Eleanor Roosevelt. Toughen up, there are always going to be unhelpful people out there making snide comments, it's your choice whether they affect you or not. It was your choice to go to bed hungry and mope about it. I personally ask my partner to say…
