I'm running the Chicagoland half on May 18.

How often do you run? You shouldn't run every day if speed is your goal.
-
There is a good book that will help, Run Less Run Faster. If I don't have a race coming I train for an imaginary race, with appropriate recovery, you should rest for a few days after your half marathon and do light workouts for a week or two.

Veganism uses less farmland. The majority of farming is for animal feed.

i think it is different for those with very high body fat. Below BMR is fine if your goal TDEE is below BMR. You are, after all, going to live healthily on that many calories for the rest of your life.

Sometimes I will eat a piece of fruit or a fresh vegetable to delay the craving, and then make a deal with myself to decide whether to eat the food I'm craving after waiting an hour for it to digest.

Calories are calories, there is no difference in fat loss. But, it is much easier and better to eat healthy, High volume, low calorie foods are more satiating and good nutrition will reduce your body's craving for more calories. Also, you are less likely to die prematurely of a chronic disease, which is a nice bonus.

There are gender differences, men lose fat faster, but also I suspect your husband may have had more to lose, which makes it seem easy, but you are better off not having drunk too much beer in the first place.

They should do a study to see which group kept the most wieght off. Better to lose 17 pounds permanently than 22 pounds temporarily.

It takes time. More than 9 days. Also, your scale can be off by 5 pounds if you eat a meal or think heavy thoughts  . thats 25% or your goal. For you wieghing is essentially useless. Consider using measurements instead. Don't get caught up in scale tricking strategies, wieghing when dehydrated etc. Just eat healthy…

I practice IF myself, there is evidence that is beneficial, but one guy not dying doesn't prove anything. IF is not a magical path to perfect health, you still have to live a healthy lifestyle and genetics will still have a role.

Intermittent fasting is beneficial, but only if you make up the calories and nutrients when you are not fasting so that you have enough energy to live, without excess calories. There is evidence that fasting is healthful, but your guru's claims of health benefits sound exaggerated. This may come as a shock, but sometimes…

This is what it feels like to be hydrated. It's a good thing, keep it up. Otoh, I wouldn't force feed water just to get a certian amount. drink plenty, never let yourself be thirsty, and don't worry about it.

I'm in Ada

I'm training for a half marathon in Chicago in May. It'll be my second.

You don't need as much protein as you think you do. Proponents of plant based diets believe that lower protein is a benefit. People who think you need massive amounts of protein (some will probaby comment) usuaslly don't reccomend a plant based diet. It's kind of one or the other. Same with calories to some extent. You can…

Eat healthily, enough calories to maintain your weight or a little less Gradually increase the intensity of your exercise Forget about how much you weigh.

I'm a vegan for 20 years. There is a vegan group here as well.

All that complete protein crap is a myth, disproven for decades. Protein is protein, you don't need to worry about combining.

I think Japanese style is a better texture for smoothies and mixes.
-
Chinese style tofu, it's better than you think.

Don't be concerned about losing weight, lose body fat. Scales are bad at measuring this, tape measures are better. Keep it up, it sounds like you are on the right track.
-
What are your goals?
-
Yes, well said, and protein shakes don't make much sense for someonte who does not exercise.
-
Hold on to your wallets everyone.

Get a new doctor, then get tested for celiac disease.

Calories are calories, it won't change your fat loss. An extremely low or high amount would be bad for you, but if your calories are moderate that is unlikely.
-
Calories from dairy are identical to calories from anywhere. Moderate amounts won't "make you fat." But, eating less calories dense foods like that will make it easier to control overeating, and eating more diary to lose body fat makes no sense at all.

"You have to eat complete protein or you'll die painfully," or some other 30 year old psuedo science.

It depends on your goal. If your goal is to lose body fat, then no. Best I can tell 1800 is a good deficit. the lower your body fat gets, the fewer calories you will need and the more you will have to ignore the scale
