  • I've made myself a pasta salad to take with me on the train tonight, instead of eating the unhealthy food available on the train or getting room service in my hotel later.
  • Again for leftover cold rice, or even just cooked rice, you can fry some chopped onion witi a little bit of oil, add the cooked rice and chopped coriander , I think it's called cilantro in the US. Make sure all is warmed through and serve.
  • I think I'd rather have the migraine. Yesterday at the top of my news feed it said: Coffee Enema How do you take yours? I nearly took a screen cap.
  • Do you think you sometimes finish off the children's food when they haven't eaten it? That has made so many of my friends put on weight! Anyway, you wanted something that could fit around looking after the children and a busy lifestyle without too much calorie counting. What worked for me was a meal planner I found online,…
  • Don't panic, you won't lose it all in the 7-10 days it takes to get over a cold, you might lose a bit, but just start gently as soon as you start to feel more yourself and you'll soon be back into it. Believe me, I had flu over Christmas, but my running hadn't been badly affected when I got back to it.
  • Maybe someone had the same question and actually, for once, searched the lists for other posters asking the same question! A miracle a I know, but I feel we should encourage this.
  • You should be able to lose the fat off them, but not the muscle. I have big calves and they did get smaller when I lost weight, they are still pretty big though and I think you just have to accept that it's the way you're made. There was another discussion about this a while back and someone pointed out that it's down to…
  • I got it for Christmas and it's definitely made a difference, I can feel muscles in areas where there used to be soft squidgy bits. I got up to about 7 x Level 2, but I've had to stop as I've got RSI in my elbow and the Dr has banned exercise of the elbow, nothing to do with 30 Day Shred though, it pre-dates that! It will…
  • I have always wondered how exact they were. Given that some are over estimated and some under we probably work out about even in the end! Also, when you put in recipes on here, it's taking the calories in the raw food, that could be changed by the cooking process, I've also wondered how that actually works out. I don't…
  • I'm vegetarian. Channa Masala is my favourite. I started being vegetarian because I was against factory farming. Now organic meats are more freely available I could go back to eating meat, but as my partner is also vegetarian because he doesn't like meat it's just easier. I'm used to it now anyway, and don't miss meat.
  • I would go to a specialist running shop and get them to look at your gait and recommend something for you. They usually get you to run/walk on a treadmill for a bit and generally find one that 's good straight away. Don't worry it won't necessarily be the most expensive! I had been wearing Nikes, but when I went to the…
  • Not me, the last thing I can do is exercise as I find it affects my limbs and they feel really heavy. I do find that going for a walk helps and getting some fresh air so maybe that gets the blood circulating? I get them with auras, I used to get nausea and vomiting, but as I got older than stopped and I just get the…
  • Yes, when I ran up hill, cross country across moorland to a local landmark, through the mud and ice and when I got there I was the only one up there and could see over the countryside for miles. It was an amazing feeling.
  • Psst he's a bloke - I think wearing heels might not be the answer he's looking for. It made me laugh though, which is a good thing for a Wednesday morning!
  • Not without losing the muscle, and I think you need that for your cycling. I have the same problem, and I've never found an exercise to decrease them. You could try making your thighs bigger possibly? Some of the lifting people on here might know more about that than me.
  • I find this guy's website useful for protein information for a vegetarian diet. http://www.nomeatathlete.com/
  • Yes, this.. I wouldn't want to waste the yolk of a perfectly good egg. Besides, my chickens went to all the trouble to lay it!
  • These look great, my main gripe with store bought tortillas is the amount of salt in them - usually about a quarter of the daily allowance or more! I'll definitely give this recipe a try, thanks for posting it.
  • I've lost the weight that I wanted to lose, tracking with MFP made it easier to keep track of what I was eating and to not overeat. However, I've carried on using it now because it's useful for maintaining my weight as well. It was mainly reading about this US study…
  • Running definitely, doesn't need much equipment and I can get out into the country for some fresh air and beautiful views.
  • That's fantastic, so good that they are into outdoor activities. Are these organised park runs or just something you guys do? Only my friend is on the look out for fitness activities she can do with her little boy as he gets older. He's only 2 now, so a bit young for running, but he's got a balance bike which he really…
  • Same here. Though obviously not your toothbrush, but mine.
  • I have been being a "fake" newbie - with travelling for my job I often turn up at a gym attached to a hotel go once and then disappear. Mind you, I'm a "fake" newbie at all times of the year.
  • I've always had large (and muscular not fat) calves even when I was in my 20s and weighed 135 lbs. I'm at 144lbs now and they are still pretty large at 15". I put it down to genetics and the fact that my Dad had us cycling loads when we were kids! My thighs on the other hand are rather thin in comparison - but I'm working…
  • M/F? Female Age? 46 Height? 5/9 Start weight? 169 Goal weight? 147 (got to 145) Time it took? 6 months (but I took August off and maintained due to holidays) Aloted daily calories? 1500-ish Did your aloted calories change with loss? Nope, just stuck to around 1500, until I reached my goal and then I went to maintenance of…
  • I just can't get my head around US clothes sizing at all. When see people talking about being a size 6 or a size 4, yet they can't be much smaller than me I don't get it. I'm a UK 12 and when I look that up on a conversion chart it says it's a US 10. Are these sizes that sound really tiny actually vanity sizes then? That…
  • No problem because of Cerazette, just a lifestyle change that caused an increase in the opportunity to feed my greed. I've lost the weight I put on now and I'm having no problem keeping it off. I guess you just have to be aware that Cerazette can cause an increase in appetite & water retention and see if you notice this…
  • It's like when a dog has an itchy bum and it scrapes it on the carpet.

  • When I joined a gym years and years ago, I got an induction session with a personal trainer who showed me what to do. I think it would be a really good investment to do that because they can advise you on your form. Then you can have a session every so often to check that you're on track. That's what I'd do if I were…
  • Actually I'm quite interested to hear why he thinks this is wrong. There may well be more to it than what it looks like on face value, and I think it's going to be about healthy eating and exercise and making it sustainable, but I could be wrong! And I lost 24lbs putting less in and more out, and feel that it's…
