I weigh myself about 3 times a week. In the morning. I don't get too concerned with small fluctuations.

This is probably wrong on so many levels - but for me - when I'm in a rut and seeing no results and getting crabby about everything.... 1. I plan a 'cheat meal'.... something I have been missing or craving. One meal isn't going to set me back much, and it is possible my rut and mood are simply because I haven't allowed…

It depends completely on how bad of a sprain. 6 years ago I had a bad sprain that required a boot and crutches for a couple weeks... then wrapped and limping for a couple more. That sprain it took me nearly two months before I could jog without shooting pain, and nearly 6 months before the numbness in my foot went away.…

I had FINALLY decided to give my box of skinny clothes to a women's shelter.... and also went out and bought new jeans that actually fit..... then, you guessed it, finally found the right combination of nutrition and exercise... and the weight started coming off. Now? I wish I would have kept that skinny box of clothes a…

Very true.... but just like everyone who has made positive changes and has worked hard to do it.... I think it is nice to know when someone notices. :)

At this point, I would like even a back handed compliment! Granted, I've only lost 19-20 pounds... but that is a big difference. It should be noticeable in some fashion, right? I wait and wait and wait to hear someone say SOMETHING. Seriously. Either the people around me have noticed and they just don't want to say…

LOVE the C25K program! Actually twice. The first time through, I had to repeat a couple weeks. But it got me to the point where I could slow jog a 5K. Then I took a break from running - and when I started again, decided to do the program again. I searched for podcasts to download where the song tempo changes for the walk…

I am 5'5" - 5'6" and started on here at 148. My original goal was 135, but I have since adjusted that to 125. Right now I am at 130 and would be very happy even staying this weight. :) I still have my boobs (although I have lost one size).... and I still have a 'figure'. For me, 125-135 is a decent range. :)

By the way... 41 minutes is a great time. If a 'fast walk' is considered 4mph and 15 minute miles - you were going faster than that on average. Great job!

Go for the 5K!! Running is a great activity. Even if you are still run/walking by April - who cares? :) I have been running for a year, and am slow like a turtle.... and even my last 5K I ended up doing some run/walk intervals. The important part is to have fun with it.

I have done the C25K twice. :) Went through it the first time - loved it - and completed a 5K (not fast - but jogged the whole way).... then took a break. I just wasn't quite in the 'running' mindset. So I started again.... and then moved to a 10K. Winters for me are really tough to stay motivated. I second the comment…

Mine is pretty general.... I try to go for a run 3 days a week. 2 days a week, I walk a couple miles over my work lunch break. I ride horse one day a week. And I NEED to start working in some weight training. As to which days a week - it really depends on what all I have going on. :)

1. What is your eye color? Blue 2. What is your favorite season? Spring, summer, fall. :) 3. What is your favorite Holiday? My birthday. Yes, it is a holiday in my world. 4. Have you ever been arrested? Surprisingly enough, I have not been arrested. 5. What are 2 things with in arms reach of you right now? Water bottle,…

Congratulations on your running! And your journey into being a healthier/better version of you! I like reading and hearing about people's successes. Thank you for sharing. I, too, never counted myself as a 'runner' - and started with the c25k program. It is GREAT. I did it last year in preparation for a 5K. Then I took…

Height: 5'6" Starting weight: 154 lbs Current weight: 136 lbs Goal weight: 130 lbs Age: 37 Calories: depends on the day. I have a desk job - so not very active throughout the day. Days I don't work out, I try to get about 1400 calories. If I work out on a day, then I adjust up to 1600-1800 calories. I have been losing…

Yep - I am a 'weigh every day' person, too. :) In the morning before getting dressed. I do understand the 'obsession with weighing' comment - but think that for a lot of people, weighing every day isn't a bad thing - as long as you do understand that you may fluctuate some from one day to the next. :)

Why do anything about it? If you are more 'acquaintances' than close friends, it is likely you aren't sharing all your personal life information with each other. If you have a problem with escorts in general - then it is up to you to be up front with that person and explain your side of things, but overall, remember it is…

Set small, manageable goals. Doesn't have to be anything big at all. When I get in a funk - some of the small goals I set are "smile at a random person today". It is mind over matter. Accomplishing something, no matter how small, has a HUGE effect on your overall attitude. Success in a small thing leads to success and…

Prior to having a smart phone, I would go to: http://gmap-pedometer.com/ to plot my course prior to an outside walk or run. Now that I have a smart phone, I use mapmyrun, and have the voice feedback set to .5 mile.

I don't have children - so any advice I have on that subject would be way out in left field. :) As for eating out in general - I've started 'planning ahead'. I usually know a day or so before an 'out' meal - so I have a chance to look at the menu online and make my food choice ahead of time. Most places will have a grilled…

I actually have been eating fruit on an empty stomach, usually as a late mid-morning snack. The stomach cramps come on about 15-30 minutes later and last about an hour to hour and a half..... I am leaning toward a fructose intolerance - but need to just "test the waters" a bit more with different fruits and amounts. :) I…

I've only done a couple 5K's, and tomorrow is my first 10K. You will do just fine! 5K's are fun... try not to let the nerves get to you. You are only running against yourself - and with most 5K's there are a lot of people in the run - so it is tough to even know where you are placing or time-wise (that is, if you are that…

More alcohol than normal helped contribute to my "10 pounds of summer" than I am now trying to lose! :) Weekends are my downfall as well.... add to it being around friends who are all having drinks, and I really don't WANT to say 'no' to them - why? Because I enjoy an occasional drink or two! Vodka is my 'go to' drink of…

I'm kind of leaning toward it being a high-fiber issue in certain fruits rather than fructose intolerance.... from the articles, looks like fructose is a common additive in other non-fruit/packaged foods as well... and breads, pastas, regular soda (back when I was drinking it) don't seem to be an issue. Thanks again for…
-
Thanks! I will check out the article links. Also - kind of nice to know I'm not the ONLY one that this happens to. :) I haven't noticed it with veggies.... then again, I LIKE the taste of fruit much better than veggies, so am really hoping to find a combination or way to eat them without the stomach cramps. :)
-
Thanks for the comments.... I might try eating 'less' at a time and see if that makes a difference. :)
-
:) At first, I thought it was just bananas.... so stayed away from them for YEARS. :) The last few weeks though (since I consciously started buying and actually EATING more fruit), I've noticed that the others are the same. Good thought about the fiber intake, that certainly could be part of it. :)

PE teacher.... showed up to work in a baggy t-shirt and sweatpants. Shadow.... dressed all in black and followed people around all night.

I will add to the Couch to 5K comments.... this program is GREAT! I did it a year ago in order to work up to a 5K. I am NOT a runner. This program eases you into it.... I'm now working on the next phase - a 10K. Don't worry about pace - I am still slow like a turtle. :) Good luck!

I second the comment about you needing to find that motivation within yourself.... however, maybe you will find that other people stories or experiences of motivation will give you some direction or things to think about or things to do. :) I've been 'stuck' at my current weight for 3 years. Not my 'happy weight' but not…
