Helen, with that attitude you are going to succeed! No doubt about it! I'm 56 years old and I know how it feels to just see the weight pile on year after year after year. I made every excuse in the world to stay as I was, including "I'm not really that fat." 13 months later, I'm feeling better than I have in the last 20…

"I don't have time.... ....to cook healthy meals" ....to exercise" ....to care about how I look ....to take care of myself." I quit my job and it was the best thing I ever did.

Love my Polar F4!

You run the risk of being shot on sight--well deserved, but certainly unsafe! LOL

A new goal and bilateral knee replacements!

I've got a pair, but I prefer the boot cut. I don't like the tight feeling in the legs at all.

Sir, you have my respect and admiration. Wishes for a long and healthy life.

I love this!!!! Never, ever give up! You are so worth the effort.

I have to admit, I'm a total wine, beer and liqueur snob! There is no way I could give those up. So, I just set aside the calories or exercise harder. I have to say, I can't indulge every day the way I used to, but that's OK. I buy only the best now so that I can really, really enjoy it.

June, 1977 at Soldier's Field, Chicago Emerson Lake and Palmer, J. Geils Band, Foghat and Climax Blues Band. What a night!

What a tremendous gift you've given yourself and your family. You look Just the thought of you enjoying an amusement park with your family lifts my spirits and brightens my day. Best wishes always!

You are fabulous! I am so happy that you look so great and are adding years of life (and life to your years). Wishing you all the best.

Thank you all so very, very much. Your kind words provide further motivation for me to keep pushing myself! At my favorite market today, they were having a hot dog cookout. 50 cents for a grilled hot dog with all the trimmings. In the old days, I would have downed about 3 of those. But I thought of you guys and kept…

Every single one of you lovely people is awesome! Congratulations to all!

What great strength of spirit you have! You look absolutely stunning. I was struck by the contrast of the before and after pictures, not just for the obvious reasons. "Before", your head is hanging low--you look as if you don't want to face anyone. "After", your head is up, you are looking at the camera and you are…

This just made me tear up! Thank you!

We were struggling grad students when we got engaged back in 1979. My husband bought me a solitaire "1/2 caret" cubic zirconia ring set in a simple 10 carat gold setting. It was around $70 at the time. While in a jewelry store recently, the clerk asked me if I would like it cleaned. I said sure. As he handed it back to me,…

I've heard 20 pounds for over 150 lbs, then after 150, just 10 lbs.

Almost 56 years old and I feel better than I have in years! Started at 230 lbs and now sitting at 153. I've lost 10 inches from my waist, 7 from my bust and 9.5 from my hips. Log everything, exercise a bit every day and mix up the exercises. I am facing two knee replacements next year. I have arthritis in almost every…

I always read my Kindle while I'm on the elliptical or a stationary bike. And I've been doing just fine with my workouts. Really, I am. This is why I'd never go to a gym. I don't need to be judged about not doing it hard enough or right enough by the other people.

Work stress leading me to self-soothe with food and booze. Poor sleep. Arthritis in back, neck and both knees that limited exercise.

Reebok has some very nice swimsuits. They cover well, have nice control without making it feel like you are trapped in a corset. I bought one that zips up the front for easy in/easy out.
-
I probably got the same one in DD, also at ****'s. It zips up the front, so it makes it very easy to get into. Pricey, but totally worth it.
-
Kept on exercising on my elliptical even when my poor old arthritic knee was filled with fluid and I had to use a walker to get around the house.
-
I'm just about your "twin", albeit much older. I am 5'6". One year ago, I weighed 230 lbs. (I probably weighed more than that at my biggest). In just 12 months, I am down to 153. I have absolutely horrible knees, and so I can't exercise like a madwoman. I aimed for 1 - 1 1/2 lbs loss/week. I did elliptical and stationary…

When I got to within 20 lbs to go. The first 70 came off so quickly. It makes me wonder if I'll ever reach goal.

Looking good there, Belinda! It really shows in your face and your midsection.
