  • I have rewards planned out (and they include food... nice dinners are not going to ruin my weight loss!) but I haven't reached any of them yet. 4 more pounds to the first one. I have most of them stacked, but won't necessarily want/need each one repeated. I don't understand rewarding myself with new work out clothes or…
  • I added a section to my food journal for breastfeeding and I have two that I've used one is -300 and the other -500. Lately I've been sticking to the -500 but as my daughter gets older (she's 6 months and EBF) I'll consider dropping the negative calories if my weight plateaus. I set my daily calories at 1300 so with the…
  • Definite improvement already! :) Keep at it (though 30 lbs in 2 months IS A LOT.. How is your diet?) I don't even know what my stomach is going to look like once I get closer to my goal. RIght now I don't seem to have a mommy pouch, even after a c-section, but I'm sure it'll rear its head as I lose fat! So its encouraging…
  • Thanks, I was looking for high-protein ideas too
  • In your after picture, you look like a young Stevie Nicks!
  • I'm not even sure actually.. thinking about it it seems like I've lost more than I've kept track of or mentioned in my previous post.. if that makes sense I started out at about 162 or so. I had previously lost 30 odd pounds prior to getting pregnant using MFP, tracking and working out. My highest pregnancy weight was 206…
  • Well, I get your woes from Appalachia. It CAN be hard to eat here, and Appalachian culture is something I'm deeply steeped in. So what I've found is that its actually not that hard to make it slightly healthier while staying here. Butter beans are great, and they're not unhealthy even if they are cooked in lard. Just limit…
  • I love Eckhart Yoga on youtube. She has a website too you can join, but there are plenty of free videos.
  • I'm 5'2 and have 50 to 60 lbs to lose. I'm a new mom, so its coming off slowly since I'm nursing, so I have to stay patient.
  • I'm basically a West Virginian, and if I had it my way, I'd just go ahead and move across the border. Maybe someday. Welcome!
  • Thanks both of you :) I actually don't eat 1300 a day, I eat 1800 a day figuring 500 for breastfeeding. Althea has never nursed a lot though, other than at the very beginning. I don't feel like I can use 500 calories feeding her but I'm unwilling to risk it! She is exclusively breastfed, has done wonderful with all her…
  • Oh, and yes I realize I had mcdonalds for lunch today. If you look through a few days of my diary you get a better idea of my habits. I know there are improvements to be made, but still!
  • Definitely both.. but they fit together well. When I lost weight before it was strictly for health and I found I did better in school, had more drive and focus. And the fact I felt like I looked more how I wanted to look made me feel more confident.
  • I have 60 pounds to lose and I hope to lose it by my birthday at the end of January so that makes us about the same on 40 pounds in 4 months. Feel free to add me.
  • I lost about 30 pounds prior to becoming pregnant. I did not eat healthy during my pregnancy, and had a very rough time emotionally. I went from about 170 to 206. I'm now at 188. I hope to get to 135 eventually. I exclusively breastfeed and my daughter is 5 months old. I plan to let her wean when ready, so I'm not sure how…
  • I got a weird one... gummy bears (or other fruity gummy type snacks) Chocolate for sure. Chocolate is often though, not strictly PMS. Other carbs not so much. Not really greasy stuff either. But gummy bears? NOM NOM.
  • I have a coworker who every time she takes a drink immediately goes "ahhh". It's like the Seinfield episode.
  • mine wouldn't flip :( The dog ate them though, hehe I would try them again though, they did smell great. I just couldn't bring myself to eat scrambled egg and banana.
  • Can't remember any about my weight or physical appearance... I don't tend to get many comments one way or the other there. I wonder if I'm not invisible! But I had a professor tell me I was "too smart" for my name and should consider using another one!
  • I see some misinformation here... Combined hormonal birth control options, including the ring, increase your risks for clots. It has to do with the estrogen in it. There is some evidence that desogen type progesterone may play a role, but it is DEFINITE that the estrogen does. For most women combined BCP are totally safe,…
  • I have a legit subway addiction. Its one of the only "fast food" restaurants I enjoy eating at. I just get the honey oat and whatever I'm craving. I try to eat well otherwise, so subway is my treat. I'm odd, I'll admit. It's the damn cookies that get me.
  • I count water, herbal teas and unsweetened tea as water. I don't drink coffee or sugar free drinks often, but when I do I count them as what they are rather than as water. Obviously anything with sugar I would never count as water. If I were tracking fluids then I'd just put them all together and count water alone. So....
  • It's 3 am here and I'm still awake (like usual!). I just count from the time I wake up to I go to bed as one day. I'm assuming sleeping and all its hormones and such "reset" the clock. That's my logic..
  • Welcome! I'm sending a request now.
  • Yeah, maybe if she was buying clothes..... She buys like one pair of scrubs at the goodwill when she runs a hole in her others... I realize the issue is with her though. But it goes well beyond just any one topic. She is in debt, she is depressed, she doesn't qualify for food stamps because she is in debt with a decent…
  • Very good point.
  • That's another thing though... even though she has more money than I do, she is in very severe debt and rarely can afford a lot of groceries at once. That is part of why she buys things at the dollar store... she doesn't seem to understand that spending more at once is the same as small purchases everyday. She also has no…
  • I see this with my mother everyday. It hurts to see it too. We live in a town 45 minutes from the nearest grocery store. We have Dollar General stores and one general store, not even really any convenience stores. My mother buys 99% of her food at the dollar store. Boxed crap, all of it. Boxed crap and liquid calories. She…
  • I love love LOVE Moroccan food! Many thanks for the recipe. So often crock pot recipes focus on food I find rather boring and standard, its so lovely to see something a tad more exotic!
