  • Am I too late to join?
  • I enjoy hiking alone, and never thought much of it. I have a baby now, and I've gone hiking with her a few times but not alone. I'm iffy on if I would. I'd definitely let someone know where I was though, but honestly, I don't think I would even go. Which sucks.
  • i have no idea what size bra i wear i've only been fitted once and that was years ago so I just wear the same bra most of the time or cami's, but after I had my baby I bought a nursing bra on clearance and it was super super uncomfortable to wear. I accidently grabbed it in place of another bra that looked similiar the…

  • I don't know if this is any help but I work out with dumbbells. My routine is four days a week: Monday/Thursday - bench press, shoulder press, row Tuesday/Friday - squat, lunge, deadlift I do 5 sets of 5 reps. I started at 8 lbs. I've progressed to 20 and for me it goes like this.. if it helps to see how i've progressed 1…
  • I dunno if the mountains are colder than Chicago. Chicago is a beast in winter.
  • 9/1 - 2.31 9/3 - 1.67
  • peanut butter animal fats / proteins sour cream cheese i just buy skim milk because i grew up on it and prefer it but i will drink whole... but i'm on WIC and they give me skim.. don't really care one way or the other
  • Starting at 25 miles. I'm doing c25k and I'm not sure how many miles that comes out, but 25 seems a reasonable goal for a beginner.
  • I just got mapmyfitness after having mapmyrun and mapmywalk and mapmyhike and realizing they ARE ALL THE SAME!!! I liked the icon better for the rest but it was a waste of phone space :P
  • Oh, I already have to adjust things because my c25k will report the same run endomondo reports, and sometimes i try out a new app to track and it does it too.. so i'm constantly deleting.. thats not a big deal. I'd just go with the smaller burn.
  • I have always been called big boned, my 7th grade science teacher used me as an example of someone who might need to worry less about osteoporosis! Uhh I can't even begin to wrap my fingers around my wrists, there is at least a half inch gap. i can pinch the fat and still see that my bones are large. But I don't know how…
  • I am thinking about getting a fitbit.. probably the zip one I'm not sure.. but i read somewhere that if it syncs with mfp you can't add other exercise. Like I use endomondo and runtastic for specific exercises, is that not compatable with fitbit?
  • Absolutely no idea. I take measurements just to see if I've lost in addition to scale weight... but I don't know what an "ideal" would be!
  • I had one c-section (with a 6 lb baby so she was far from giagantic) and I never gained a lot of stomach while pregnant (I gained weight, way more than I should have, but very little in the stomach)..... but I think its not so much that the c-section causes the pouch but being pregnant at all. I can't tell if I have one…
  • So its like 12:30 am and I am totally craving tuna now thanks to this thread.
  • lol, I was going to say the same thing... about "tennis"... Hey I'm almost in my 30s! Thats women's prime time ain't it? Done right, its quite the leg workout. Umm. /TMI
  • My favorite exercise I barely consider exercise... hiking. I could hike for hours and hours, days even. I love it, just getting lost in the woods. Also, trail running and running in general. The only true exercise that I've been able to really stick with, and its like meditation to me. I've enjoyed yoga classes but I can't…
  • Following for suggestions
  • Yes, I keep track with an app on my phone.. and thanks. Thats really true about the difference between a squat and a press, I didn't think about that! Makes total sense though.
  • Wow thank you for the very thorough response! I really appreciate it. Your routine seems great... I wasn't sure about isolation exercises. I know SL is pretty much compound, but this routine I wasn't sure if it was or not (I'm a total newbie). I really prefer whole body over a split routine, but I'm looking for something I…
  • People always talk about the weight not coming off as quickly while weight lifting vs cardio.. and I have a question that I'm not sure I can ask in a way that makes sense. For example, I weigh 179 and at 5'3 thats pretty overweight. Even if all I lost were inches, my lean body mass can't be so high that the scale wouldn't…
  • I'm from "not quite southwest" Virginia. I'm in Bath County, west of Lexington and Staunton, near HIghland and Allegheny county.
  • Daily, I chart it with libra. I log losses, lol. But speaking of Libra, I got a new phone and when I downloaded the app to this phone, even though it kept the data, the formatting has totally changed. I hate the new look. What's a good alternative to Libra for a phont app?
  • It's definitely not the only form that will make you gain weight, its just the one that it seems almost guaranteed. I have been on several different methods, and I always am hungry on most of them (except the paragard IUD, that one has no hormones so I was fine but I bled too heavy). I have nexplanon implant now and I…
  • wow, so inspiring :)
  • I am nursing my 6 month old. I just started to really focus on losing weight, and so far it doesn't seem to effect my supply. I've never been able to pump worth crap... like an ounce here or there.. but she gains weight so she's getting milk when she nurses. I do wish I could pump more though, a little jealous of those…
  • I suppose I could modify C25K to where I just run 2x a week (Tue/Thur). I'm not in a hurry, and plan to do it twice anyway. Once for stamina and once for speed. I won't run a real 5k till next spring. Assuming in the span of time between Thursday and Tuesday I wouldn't lose everything I gained. I think I'll print up a…
  • Thanks everyone for all the kind replies (and the compliment on my cute baby)! I have seen some people post about Smiths and .. uhh.. not had such nice responses. I'd love to use free weights for it all, but I'm truly limited at the moment. It won't be forever, and I will be very careful with form. Also glad to see a lot…
  • Thanks again. I think I'll start out with them on the same days and if its too much I'll sacrifice half an hour on a family day. It won't be the end of the world, I'm just a sucker for routine. They actually have a huge amount of dumbbells there but obviously I'm not going to get near where I would with a barbell, so I…
