Go to the gym. Just make a pact with yourself that you'll go for 15 minutes. After that if you still don't feel well or, if you mood/stress/physical feelings have not improved, give yourself permission to leave. That way, you've given it your best shot and there's no guilt involved. I made this deal wth myself and I almost…

You can have a gin (65 cals) and tonic (10 cals) with a twist of lemon/lime. Very little sodium to worry about and, if you order in a tall glass, you have something to sip on all night. Just make sure the bartender knows only ONE shot of gin as usually they'll pour two for a tall glass. You'll also probably be just fine to…

Just be very careful of how many calories you take in per day with Medifast. I did the program very briefly for a while as it was very similar to a fasting program I did years earlier. Make sure you get in all the proper nutrients and you're getting in at least 1200 cals a day. You can read my blog or Google "Thrifty…

Intersting study! I certainly make better choices when I'm well rested and not lacking from sleep. I just had my Grehlin duct removed and I am never hungry. I have to watch the clock each day to remind myself to eat. I have also noticed that I am also always sleepy since its' removal. I just chalked it up to post surgery,…

I just noticed this 50+ group! Yea! Just the kind of group I was hoping to find. I've been going through many of the posts and, Lord, it will take time to get to know everyone and what your goals are but it seems this is just an awesome and supportive group. It looks like many of your have been successful in your endeavors…

Carbs. Just about any carb but usually the texture varies with my emotions. Angry or frustrated and I want things like hard pretzels, chips, you know, crunchy things! On the opposite end of the spectrum when I'm content, I want creamy sauces and pastas - soft warm things. When either are eaten in too much quantity, they…

I joined a fitness center about 4 months ago and Monday I meet with a personal trainer for my first training session. I'm so excited! While I was fairly diligent about going and working out, I get bored and she promised me no boredom. I hope she works me til I drop! I also hope training will really help with my weight…

I'm a little late joining the convo here but I had Verticle Gastric Sleeve 10/21/10 and have lost just over 20 lbs. over the past 5 weeks. While it took me some time to fall in love with my sleeve, it's the best thing I could have done. I can finally see myself at a normal weight sometime within the not too distant future.…

I stay within my daily calorie allotment as set by my nutritionist. I'm striving for a real balance between my nutrients right now and know I wouldn't be able to achieve that on a weekly basis.

Thanks, J! I'm just now working my way around and learning all of the nooks and crannies here. What a GREAT site w/ lots to offer! So glad to be here! Priska

I just had WLS (VSG) so I'm focusing on Protein, Water and Vitamins. I'm just starting to add chopped up food back into my diet but I'm very OCD about weighing everything and charting here and elsewhere for my nutritionist. Cheers, Priska
