I am cutting out wine because after a couple glasses I hit the pantry for snacks. I can’t just seem to have one glass and call it quits for now. I am going to make it through January alcohol free and then add it back in on weekends only and see how it goes. Definitely not quitting for health reasons!!

Oh wine... you are the devil!!! 😂 I’ve cut out wine - 3 nights so far without it and I miss it. Trying to cut it out for the whole month of January. My in-laws visit in 2 weeks - not sure I will be able to get through that weekend without it!!! 😂🤣

Ha ha!!! On my phone it showed as the last post as being a year ago, then I logged in on my computer and saw that it was still current!! Oops!!

I feel you - been a yo yo dieter all my life and now at 46 the yo-yo is slowing down and I have been putting weight on like crazy. I am now as heavy as I was when I gave birth to my third child (11 years ago). I have tried and tried on my own to lose weight, but have failed. I’ve never visited the community section on mfp…

Hi all! I’m 46 and have struggled with my weight all my life. I’ve never been “thin”, but as perimenopause is creeping in, so is the added weight (especially in the belly area). I need to make life changes and cannot do it alone (I’ve tried and tried!). Please feel free to add me so we can take this journey together!

Hi! Trying to get to where many of you seem to be. 😊. I am 46 and really need to change my lifestyle. I have been slowly gaining weight and am not happy. I want to turn this around before I begin to experience health issues from being overweight!

What started out as a few glasses of wine on weekends has morphed into an almost every night occurrence. With that comes the late night snacking. I’ve gained almost 20 pounds in 4 months and I attribute a good chunk of that to wine. I’ve never heard of “Dry January”, but this is what I need!!

I would love to join!

Hi! My name is Nicole, and I am an Army wife as well. My husband is currently stationed at Ft. Belvoir (VA), I am very familiar with Ft. Campbell - we spent 7 years there. I have 3 kids - ages 3, 5, & 7. I have been using mfp for a few months now and it has greatly helped me not gain any weight this summer while my husband…

They look good! I'm always looking for low-cal snacks. Thanks for posting!

I'm glad you finally took the plunge! I am a chronic yo-yo dieter, and have made the decision to really REALLY stick with it this time. It's hard, though, because I've been doing this for almost 10 weeks and - I'm happy that I'm losing - but it is coming off soooo slowly this time! This decision you made isn't an easy one…

I didn't realize I hadn't been on here for awhile - last week I gained a pound, then lost a pound this week. Stuck at a 5 pound loss. I was REALLY hoping to lose 10 pounds this month for our challenge, since I was just starting up - usually when I start dieting the first 10 pounds come off pretty quick, then it slows down.…

Good for you Tammy! I hope today isn't too terribly bad for you. I've never smoked, but I have plenty of friends and family who do, and I know through them that quitting smoking is not easy. The ginger soak sounds interesting... let us know how you feel afterward! Joni - You blow me away with the way you squeeze so much…

How are those floors looking Mary? Mine need it sooooo bad too. I just got home from the Y - did the elliptical for an hour. Maybe I'll at least get my kitchen floor clean... You've inspired me! :o)

I have been updating my diary on my phone, but have not been able to post to the message board from it. I have had such a busy week, and am really hoping for a slower one this week. I got together with a group of ladies and we did "Once a month cooking" to stock our freezers with healthy food in single size servings so we…

I agree, Tammy! Bike riding is fun and it gets the kids moving as well. I think I might have to do that one day this week. Added bonus for me... the 35 pound boy that will be riding on the seat behind me! It makes a HUGE difference when he is on the bike! :o) I was so mad at myself today. I met a friend at the mall to…

I lost 4 pounds! I am so happy, because the week before (which was the week before Easter & Easter weekend) I GAINED 2 pounds. I was hoping just to get myself back to my starting point, but I have have a number on my ticker now other than 0! It looks like everyone has lost this week so far... keep up the good work!!!

Good for you! A little bit is better than nothing. :o) I don't feel like doing anything today either, and keep putting it off! lol I guess I better just get to it. 30 minutes. That's all I've got in me today.

Hello everyone! I am happy to report that I did FABULOUS these past three days of traveling, eating out and a cookout/going away party. I am not normally one to brag about myself, but I am just so pleased with myself for making good choices and not obsessing over food that I shouldn't eat, but focusing on all the yummy…

Mary - Ugh... I HATE days like that - It's so hard when you can't get full, then it almost becomes an obsession! I hope you get distracted by shopping! :o) I like the fruit/vegie tray suggestion... I think I will do that! Thanks! I hope you all have a great day!

I cheated and peeked also - down 2.5 lbs (this is my first week - I always do pretty well when I'm all pumped up and excited about getting thin) BUT the next 3 days are going to be rough. I'll be traveling today and tomorrow. I don't think I'll have any chance to exercise, and I'll be eating out. I'm going to pack food for…

Good morning! I didn't get a chance to post my weight and measurements yesterday. I took the kids to a botanical garden in Richmond yesterday and they RAN for almost 3 hours straight! I got some good exercise chasing after them! It was nice and hot out yesterday, which made me not want to eat much - YAY!!! - I needed that,…

Good Morning! My name is Nicole and I am a classic yo-yo dieter. I take the weight off and then it creeps back on, every single time. I am starting back up again and am really, really hoping to keep it off this time. My goal for May is to lose 10 pounds. I want to exercise at least 4 days a week and really bump up my…

I've never done the c25k, but I have p90x. It is brutal, but it produces results! I have done all of the workouts, and I have 5 or 6 that are my favorite. I do those a couple of times a week in addition to cardio. The only thing I don't like about p90x is that it really is more strength training than cardio. You still work…

I'm excited to get started! I started on MFP on Monday, but still have a lot of junk around the house I've been eating everyday. I'm going to encourage unhealthy eating all weekend to my dh and kids to get rid of it all to start with a clean slate on Monday!

I'd like to join the challenge also! I am starting back up after a dieting "break". I lost 60 pounds 2 years ago, but have gained back 30. I want to lose the 30 I've gained back and hopefully learn from my mistakes and keep it off this time. I am 38 years old and am a stay-at-home mom to three wonderful children. I belong…
