Not different, but possibly in greater quantities than the body handles with 'natural' weight loss. It might be a boon for those with stubborn fat pockets despite weight loss, but wouldn't the fat just come back?
-
Okay, so if the fat is no longer in the fat cells, does that mean it goes into circulation and has to be dealt with by the liver and kidneys? If it's a drastically larger amount than one could remove simply by calorie deficit can the body handle it safely? Where does it go? I wouldn't think anyone should try it until they…

When people are posting fast and furious, threads can end up buried, so when people see a post they'd like to read in a bit, or one that they think is important, they'll reply with a 'bump'. The reply moves it to the top of the pile again, and puts it into the much shorter list of threads they can access by clicking on 'my…

A better measure of potential obesity/overweight, if you can't get a body fat percentage, is waist size to height ratio. http://www.health-calc.com/body-composition/waist-to-height-ratio

Closet shopping, my FAVORITE!

That steak I had last night was really tough. How many calories does chewing burn?

Words matter. It doesn't matter if you're "kidding". Every day our daughters are force fed subliminal and not so subliminal messages that their bodies, and how men like them, are all that matter. And the images portrayed as desirable are all air brushed and photo-shopped impossibilities. They are taught to judge and…

Because as we ALL KNOW, the only important thing about a woman is her shape, and the only important thing about that is whether it will make a man happy. ^Sarcasm^ Please, OP, quit contributing to the objectification of women. Perhaps find a way to make a meaningful contribution in the world.

What KenosFeoh said. 1200 cals is a good first step, and avoiding the scale is another good one. Keep at it.

I ate salt and pepper sandwiches as a teen -- just bread, with salt and pepper.

It depends on the relationship. My husband knows that I was verbally abused and left behind on family vacations for being 'fat' when I was a teenager. (Just for perspective, I weighed 150 pounds at 5'8", that's what my family called 'so fat they were ashamed to be seen with me'.) So NO, he'd never tell me that. Just as I…

I remember being 20, and horribly depressed because I'd dropped out of college, not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, and was working at Burger King. I took some time, and thought about what I really wanted to do, then went back to school, got the degree I needed, and haven't looked back. Don't be too hard on…

I am reminded of a patient I once had, very old, and bedridden after a stroke. We were listening to the oldies station as I was cleaning him up and repositioning him, and some song came on...Death of a Teenage Angel, I think, anyway, the old man said, "I remember that being popular, I just can't remember WHY?" So, that'll…

Not necessary, but it comes in chocolate, so I'm there!

In that case, which is what I was suggesting, eat at maintenance, and add lifting heavy (more than dumbells) something like New Rules of Lifting for Women, to your routine.
-
I'm no pro, but your goal weight is underweight for your height. Your current weight is just about right. I think you'd be better served eating at maintenance levels, and adding lifting heavy to your routine to firm up what you have rather than trying to take any off.
-
That's how you stay motivated! Not only that, but you're building the foundation for a lasting life change, one that will keep you healthier and stronger your whole life. Much better than fretting over every calorie now, and looking forward to hitting your goal as 'when I get to eat again', which ends up being 'when I…

Totally unscientific sampling methods, so not really 'scientific', but every time someone passed out after giving blood, we'd ask them what they'd had before they came, and the answer was always either, they hadn't and just lied about it on the intake forms, or they'd had pop tarts.

So false. I even wipe the faucet and counter after. The next person collects something.

Anything with a Japanese guy in a rubber monster suit made by Toho! Godzillan, Rodan, Mothra, I love them all -- even the trippy one made in the seventies with the pollution monster. *Hugs the monsters*

True! The next person has no pets.

Unless you have renal problems, it won't hurt you. The MFP default setting for protein is really low. I set mine for 40% 30% and 30%.

Why is it called 'going commando'? One would think that if there were the least possibility of having to rappel somewhere that undies would be key.

You're at higher risk from it happening during childbirth. If you're recovering from the recent birth of a child, or have had children very close together, I would check with your doctor first.

I think there's a YMMV element to this. I've seen smokers with amazing fitness. Would they have been able to achieve even more had they never smoked, or quit early on? No one knows -- it's not evident from looking at them. Other people, it's quite evident. The last time I had to be admitted to the hospital for severe…

It's in the past tense because it was before he learned another one. Or he died, and he's communicating through his computer as if it were a Ouija board.

People need to understand that Taso's first language wasn't English -- it was sarcasm.

That's like the guy equivalent, of 'I got dumped last night and DIDN'T eat Ben and Jerry's'. Way to go!!

Good luck getting them out of the kitchen now! :D
