You work three jobs, and go to school, sounds stressful. Stress causes you to release cortisol which causes your body to hold onto, you guessed it, belly fat.

Hi there! I'm 53, and a lifelong 'chunker' too, except for a few times after severe dieting, but those never lasted long. I'm looking to make the change permanent this time. Friend request being sent.

I say 'of course you can stop -- if that's the absolute LAST rep/step you can do. Are you sure it's your last? Sure you can't do ONE more?' Funny thing, it's never the last.

For pure slyness, and evocative word pictures, I like 'You're So Vain (I bet you think this song is about you)" by Carly Simon. "You went up to Saratoga, where your horse probably won. Then you flew your Lear jet up to Nova Scotia, to see a total eclipse of the sun. You're where you should be all the time, and when you're…

If you lose the weight slowly, as you've planned, you're less likely to have problems, though your breasts may always need a little extra support. I lost about 79 pounds after my first child was born, and didn't have many problems. You're young, so your skin will recover a good deal. Staying hydrated, and keeping your skin…

That's a stupid, shallow question. Why on earth would you want to know? Don't you know whether you're carrying too much fat or not without referring to an arbitrary number that someone else put on something? It all depends on your height, frame size, and level of musculature. Obviously a five foot tall woman with a narrow…

Superman, the first one, with Christopher Reeve, and Animal House.

I put a length of closed-cell foam pipe insulation around the part of the bar that rests on my shoulders. I work out in my garage, though, so there's no one to look at me funny.
-
Good luck! It's better to go slower when you've less fat to lose, so you can hold on to more of your lean mass.

My body fat percentage according to the Imperial calculator (the one the US Navy uses) is 27%, Fitness frog has my TDEE at 2359. I've also increased the intensity of my lifting days workouts, and those make me gain weight, but man, you can bounce a quarter off my butt afterwards --- or is that TMI?

See if talking/texting dirty, some suggestive looks, hot kisses, and lingering touches throughout the hours before bed don't get him with the program.

I work out in my garage, and I went to put another plate on my barbell, and a spider ran out of the center hole and across my hand. I dropped the plate, and jumped around, and screamed -- so I got a workout, just not the one I wanted.

I've run close to five miles, and don't take water, but I get pretty dry mouthed by the end. At six to seven miles I think I'd take enough to moisten my mouth, and save the real hydrating for after. I can't stand anything on my stomach, even water, when I run.

Intervals worked for me too. I'd built up to being able to run 50 minutes or more at a stretch, but couldn't get much over 5mph -- my best day was 5.2. After a few weeks, I was tired of it, so I did several modified interval training sessions, where I ran for a half hour, but with eight one minute long intervals where I'd…

Oh man. I wake up at night heart pounding, sweating, feeling like I'm going to suppocate and die of heat. I hate it. I haven't really had much trouble losing weight, but I've noticed that the weight wants to hang around the belly much more than it did when I was younger.

I am Menopausal Fat Broad. Yeah, I remember there was a sign outside, forgot what it said though. Has anybody seen my keys? No? How 'bout my glasses?

They mean the soft green stuff that isn't the rind or the pit.

I run three days a week, lift three days a week, and take a nice long walk, or a swim or something on the seventh day. Resting doesn't mean just sitting.

Hey, you sound like me! I'm 52, nearly 53, and came here with about 80 pounds to lose. I'd tried other diet plans, and lost weight on them, but then put it back on during maintenance from never learning how to eat properly when NOT on a diet. That's what's so great about mfp, you can eat the same foods while you're losing…

The best reply to a comment like that is: "A great happiness for the woman."

I took nursing classes as a single mother, working my way through nursing school as a nurse aid. I felt guilty when I was with my daughter since I needed to work more, and study more, felt guilty when I was studying because I wasn't with my daughter or working, and felt guilty when I was working because...well, you get the…

I am 53, and probably have more experience. The advice was there in my question by implication. If you approach men with this expectation, they will sense the walls you have up, and react to them. That's not to say that some men don't have such fragile egos that they won't be intimidated, but you will have better luck if…

Why do people ask questions that stereotype the attitudes and behaviors of an entire group because of a few experiences they've had?

I loved that crossover! Congratulations! I also loved the Plus Size to Regular Size crossover.

Congratulations, those are all amazing!

My 'shape wear' no longer shapes -- it sags. And with the overall layer of fat gone, what I have left is lumpier.

That depends on whether you want to live up to the media ideal of what's sexy, and that many* men don't agree with anyway (remember, in 2010, the men's magazine Esquire chose Christina Hendricks, whose thighs most definitely touch as the best looking American woman) or whether you want to be a strong, healthy, confident,…

Also, what level of activity did you set for calculating your TDEE? You might need to increase it (or take a smaller deficit, either way.)

I tried it and had severe...digestive problems, painful and inconvenient ones.

I find it very difficult to get the amount of iron, and b12 that I need to avoid getting anemic with a vegan diet. I simply could not digest the amount of foods to give me enough non heme iron to make up for the more bioavailable heme iron in meat. Other people might not have that trouble.
