 In 20 minutes I get to leave for the gym. Tonight will be my first offical C25K night. I CAN do 20 minutes of running/walking intervals. It will hurt but I can do it, lol. Also when I ran the last time (for the first time) on the treadmill on Monday at the gym I did not notice my breaststs bouncing. Funny. Now I am…

Ohhhh speaking of Kinnikicks brands... We LOVE thier frozen GF cinnamon cake donuts. I don't buy them very often but every once in a while I will. We just nuke them and gorge. Delicious. Better than any other cake donut out there.

Oh shoot sorry..should've put this down in the recipes section.

ALSO - if you don't have a Le Cruset or dutch oven, you CAN use a regular bread pan...the bread just doesn't get that thicky lovely crust on the outside..it is thinner.

Try Trader Joes if you have one..they have several brands of sprouted grain breads not in the frozen section. I also like the Ezekial breads as well, especially their hamburger/hotdog buns. www.shilohfarms.com sells sprouted wheat flour and I buy it from there, but I'll tell you I've had one heck of a time getting the…

This might be a long shot, I don't know..but in my quest to find information about wheat free diets for my 3 year old, I've come across some interesting articles on how parents have changed their childrens diets to help with ADHD, ADD and have had some luck. You might look into that. I think you need to go with your gut…

Okay to broach the time told topic of hot conversation on this site...are you guys finding that eating back your exercise calories is working for you? I've only been eating a little bit of them back. For example I'm eating around 1650 a day, burning anywhere from 400-600 cals at the gym at night and maybe eat 200 back..so…

Natural sugars as found in fruits and veggies are okay. It is the processed sugars you need to stay away from as much as possible. There was just a post on a forum here not too long ago...."sugar is your enemy" or something like that. Search for it..

My smoothie recipe 1 scoop vanillaprotein powder 1 banana (not frozen) 1 cup silk soy vanilla light ice It works out to right around 300 cals. The ice and milk make it cold, banana thickens it up and gives it flavor. Plus the banana is filling and is a serving or two of fruit.

...unless you are eating soybean products that are made with the company Monsanto beans. Not only are they putting farmers out of work if they aren't using their beans, their soy beans have been genetically modified to resist Round Up. What does that say about soy products made with Monsanto beans? Pick your food battles I…

I never really measure how much I drink per day, but it has got to be in the upwards of minimum 50 oz a day, probably more. I find if I am low energy in the afternoon or start to get mild tension headache feelings that if I drink some water I immediately feel better. One thing to think about: if your tea is caffinated, it…

Cds - where are you moving? Sorry for making you repeat yourself...I'm at work and don't have time to look back thru at the moment. Last night I ran for two minutes on the treadmill in an effort to push myself and such. I decided when I got to work this morning I would print up the c25k program and start it. I always see…

Hey All! Can i join? Can I join!?! I think I am residing right around 210. I will weigh myself when I get to the gym after work today to see. I've been up to 221 before at the high end in January. I have been working out consistently and eating around 1600 cals for going on 7 weeks now. Not seen much difference in weight.…

I too just watched Food Inc. Prior to watching the film I knew about the corn industry and had already stopped buying 95% of boxed food, etc. What got me is the meat. I now go to a local butcher shop who only has organic/all natural/antibiotic free meat. I don't want ammonia washed meat or chlorine washed meat. I was…

I've been working out minimum four times a week and eating within my cals. I splurge on my Friday night dinner. I've been doing this for going in six weeks now and haven't seen the scale budge much at all. Like none. BUT I do know I've lost inches or whatever. My hips are smaller and so is my stomach, neck and face. Keep…

This is really interesting because if you look at the back of many GF foods many of them say they are imported from Ontario. I don't know what area you live in, but I was all excited to be traveling to Ontario this spring on business and picking up stuff to ship back to Oregon!

I am in Eugene and from Medford. I would be surprised if Medford has anything but if you head up to the Ashland Organic Co-Op there is a very good chance you will find GF baked goods. Also the Market of Choice in Ahsland has stuff. And the Market of Choices in Eugene have a TON of GF products and the best cupcakes ever.…

Kelynn, Have you tried sprouted wheat breads? Do some internet "research" on sprouted grains...I got a few books and came across Essential Eating books and have found that my daughter can eat sprouted wheat breads with no issues. The grain aren't processed the same way as refined wheat so that is the difference. I don't…

Organic buffalo burgers on organic wheat buns with a ton of veggies on them. Maybe a glass of wine? Maybe some sweet potato fries. Friday nights have officially been dubbed hamburger night in our house for the time being. Until we get sick of them. LOL

The body bugg is like $180 at the cheapest and its my understanding that you have to pay a monthly fee to be able to upload the info to the internet. Buy a Polar heart rate monitor if you want an accurate count of calorie burn. MFP is off. Way off. But if you are just using it as a general idea, and not really interestings…

To quote another above me: "The government chooses to regulate items like gas and tobacco....maybe they should start regulating the s@%t on the grocery store shelves since obesity and poor health in this country are such an issue? " The government does help regulate it...they support the handful of large food processors in…

To each thier own on diet choices I guess, but coming from a place where I have to buy and cook gluten free foods for my wheat intollerant three year old daughter, I would not choose to do a gluten free diet if I didn't have to. For one, GF foods can be expensive. Two, I've read several articles in various magazines that…

I think I might have replied to this early on to the same effect as everyone else - disgust..or maybe I read the post and thought it. Can't remember. Anyways, I recently watched Food Inc on dvd. Have any of you seen it? I used to judge people severely what they put in their cart. Now I don't after watching that movie. It…

http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/chile_relleno_casserole/ Instead of sausage, I used free range organic chicken. I also added fresh spinach leaves and corn to it. Oh and instead of the tomato sauce, I used Trader Joes enchilada sauce. It was seriously fantastic! I'm going to make it again next week.

I do! I do! It is the only way I can get the gym during the week and feed my family before 7 at night. So I plan my meals, go shopping Friday after work or Saturday morning. Then I either make most of the dishes or get all the prep ready Sunday so all I have to do when I get home at night is either reheat or put it…

Currently: cup of 1% milk, ice, banana and protein powder all blended up with my magic bullet How about a poached egg with half a slice of lowfat cheddar and a piece of canadian bacon on top - all melted together in the oven. I make 5 on Sunday so I have them for the whole week so they are convenient to grab and go Or…

I throw it into soups instead of barley or rice. I just made pineapple rice with quinoa in it (just put it in the rice cooker with the rice). And I just posted a black bean quinoa patty recipe on here a few days ago, but can't find the link now... Also try: http://foodgawker.com/?cat=0&s=quinoa This is my favorite-est…

Good Lord if you do it after, with all the water pasta soaks up, you'll get like 9 noodles for your 210 cals!! Why would you want part of your precious calories to come from water?? Measure before.

You might just try the first two weeks of the South Beach Diet if you are just trying to cleanse your body. No sugar, no red meat, no white carbs, etc...it does work. And you get to eat. I did it with my husband a while back and found that we both lost weight and "released" a bunch of...stuff...from our systems.
