First, you need to decide if you want to follow the advice in the Roadmap thread or not. Upping yourself to 1300 isn't even close to the guidelines presented there. Second, you need to do some research on calorie rich foods that are good for you, and stop undereating. Third, your calculations are based on what you put into…

Welcome to MFP! When I first started it took my body a good 3-4 weeks to understand that I was going to feed it regularly and that exercise was OK. Then things started to happen. That said, 30DS is known for taking inches off and not having a huge effect on weight, so don't get discouraged and just keep measuring!

I went to a chocolate tasting class a couple months ago and found the answer (for me at least). The craving is chemical, and you aren't going to satisfy that chemical need with anything under 70% cocoa. It can be cheap or expensive (unless you're a chocolate snob), but as long as it is 70% or higher, one small serving…

I'm obsessed with Teavana. They sell loose tea in an incredible number of flavors. You go in and tell them what you like and they will suggest a blend for you. I especially like the MateVana mixed with Rooibos Chai.

I'm in. Are we posting here? Specifics, please :-)

There are a lot of websites to calculate ideal weight for height. Just as an example I used the Weight Watchers calculator, as they have been doing this a very long time. This is what it says for your height (which is also my height, BTW, and I am aiming for 150): "Your healthy weight range is 132 to 164 lbs. If you're…

You don't seem to understand that tea IS WATER with herbal additives, where chocolate cake is not. Also, where your definition of "correct use" of the water meter is awesome for you, it may not be how the rest of the world measures their intake. Unless you wrote the MFP program and in doing so defined the "correct use" of…

For those of you interested in what actual health professionals think, try this: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/water/NU00283 Of particular interest to this thread: "Everyone has heard the advice, "Drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day." That's about 1.9 liters, which isn't that different from the Institute of…

Hi! I've got over 100 to lose as well, and am not nearly as far along as you. I'm always looking for encouragement, input, and new ideas to help keep me on track. You're welcome to add me!

I have a rescue mutt, most likely to be Border Collie and German Shepherd, but it's really anybody's guess. The rescue told me she was a lab when I got her at 12 weeks...but I'm pretty sure there isn't any lab in there. She's my big furry baby!

I really enjoy Hawaii (Maui, specifically), for a laid back atmosphere with tons to do. I like to go at the beginning of December, when high season hasn't yet started, the prices are lower and the beaches are nearly empty. I can sign up for activities or just lay the day away on the sand. It's extremely relaxing.

Hi all, been here on MFP about 30 days, and am new to the group. Native Californian, living in Burke, VA, and commuting to Reston. Looking for local workout buddies that might be interested in hiking/walking/dog parks, etc.

Well that's good news. Do you know if there is a place online that I can watch a bit of it? I don't want to buy something yet that I'm not sure I can make the most of.

Thanks for the info!

Hi all, everyone seems to love this workout, but I'm wondering if someone can tell me a little more about it. I've got an injured foot and can't do anything that puts undue pressure on it (e.g., jumping, standing on only a portion of the foot, or only on one foot). Would there be enough left of the workout for this to be…

Hi all, I guess I'd be considered a general biologist: B.S. Biological Sciences M.S. Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Disease Ph.D. Biodefense in progress Glad to see so many scientists on here!

Well done! I can't wait to see 199, and think you're awesome for getting there!

Bump

You're inspirational; I hope to get to where you are one day. :-)

I'd be interested in joining some walks. Are dogs welcome too?

I'm in Burke, right next to West Springfield.

I really like the German Rock Sugar available at Teavana for my tea. 1/2 teaspoon provides just enough sweet.
