  • I have a New Years resolution! Mine is to lose weight and tone up. It's a bit hard right now, because we are having a few snow days, so I can't really get out of my house to go to the gym. Finals is next week so I'm struggling to finish all my assignments and I still need 10 volunteer hours for my Government and Polititcs…
  • It's nice to see that you are so motivated to reach your goal. I wish you all the best.
  • Didn't really log food and exercise during the holidays much. But since school is starting back up again after Winter Break, I will have more of a schedule. It's 2010! A new year, a new me. Let's get that New Year's resolution juice flowing in our brains. We should be thinking of the healthier and more in shape versions of…
  • I just got the 30 day shred for Christmas and have not started it yet. I am unsure about some things, so if someone could answer my questions that would be wonderful. First of all, how many days should I do it per week? I initially assumed you do it everyday for 30 days, but I've heard it's pretty challenging. Is this one…
  • That is such an amazing idea. It's about time to see the teenagers of this website come together to support each other. I didn't think there were very many of us out there, so it's good that we're trying to stick together. I'm definitely in!
  • I feel for you. I am the exact same way. I eat things that I don't even like, even though this totally goes against all logic and reasoning. Why do I do this? I have no idea. Perhaps, like you, I have a lack of self restraint. But we just need to learn from our mistakes and try better next time. We should try to be losing…
  • Thanks a bunch. I was sitting there wondering what all the fuss was about the 30 day shred. Does it really work? It sounds like a lot of people like it, so I suppose I'll try it. Is it a video or what? Whatever it is, I'm going to ask for it for Christmas. And good luck to you as well!
  • [/quote] No problem! breast stroke is a great stroke to really feel the power in your legs and upper back. If you ask at your pool you may be able to find someone to give you one or two classes or something to help improve your form. Water exercise classes are always great, too. I know people who just SWEAR by their…
  • Thanks for the advice. Everything in moderation is my motto (but I can't seem to follow it in the aspect that I most need to-dessert). Perhaps I should take it slowly. It's so very hard to go cold turkey right away. So I'll limit myself to a dessert a few times per week, and then go down to once a week. I would also like…
  • I totally understand! I do pretty well at not eating a bunch for supper. But then I screw it all up by gorging on dessert. We should start a dessertoholic group right now to offer each other support and motivation. Bye bye desserts, hello healthy and hot bod.
  • I am really new at swimming. I haven't taken swimming lessons for a long time, so I don't really know what I am doing. I like the breast stroke, think, I don't really know what that looks like for sure :) You gave some really helpful advice. Thank you! I do think my form is totally off. Like I said, I don't really know how…
  • I never knew swimming could burn so many calories! I like to swim and be in the water, but I have found that it's very hard for me to swim for extended periods of time. I know that I am not like totally out of shape, so I have no idea what the problem is. When I try to do laps and such, I get a headache. Like I'm not…
  • I have noticed that a lot of you guys have talked about some 30 day shred thing. It sounds like it works great. I was wondering what it was. I've never heard of it before.
  • I didn't do the Thankgiving challenge. I just let myself slide. Ate whatever I wanted and didn't wake up super early to exercise, but it's okay to let yourself have these kinds of days once in a while. I'm ready though to get back on track with my eating and exercise. I am a new member at the YMCA and do the classes they…
  • I suppose I would fit in at the higher end of the size, with me being 5'4 and all. I've been a member of Fitness Pal for about a month. It's hard to pin point my weight. I ususally fluctuate between 112 and 116 pounds. But I would like to weigh less. Maybe 108 pounds by my birthday (it's on Valentine's Day). That would be…
  • I'm not sure how you have that problem. I'm pretty sure most other people have the opposite problem. For me, I always go above my set limit. I can't seem to get below it. I would love to have your problem. And how do you burn that many calories when you go to the gym?! That's amazing. I would suggest eating healthy,…
  • It's best to stick to actual fruits and vegetables. Who knows what is in those drinks. You can drink them but I wouldn't count them toward my daily intake of fruits and veggies. The simple way (and raw way) is the best.
  • I would just like to say thank you all so much for responding to my post. It really means so much to me that someone is actually reading what I have to say and providing me with feedback. Good luck on your own fitness journeys and thanks again for your support!
