The best thing you can do is learn to lift properly. Otherwise you risk injuring yourself seriously. If you can afford a few sessions with a trainer, I would recommend that to start. Once you have learned good technique and have a routine, don't overdo it. A quick online search will reveal that you can do a lot at home…

Before I started MFP, I tried calorie counting on my own. When I worked night shifts, a typical day would be: light breakfast at 8:00 a.m., sleep 6-7 hours, light breakfast again at around 4:00 p.m., then lunch at 6:00 p.m., and dinner and snacks during my night shifts (7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.).
