A good HRM would probably be very helpful! I used to record my calories burned off of the website or off of the cardio machine at the gym. According to the gym equipment, I would burn about 1000 calories per hour, but according to my HRM, I am actually only burning about 500-600 and hour. That is almost double! So I was…

The only suggestion I can make is to have a meal replacement shake for one of your meals. The one I drink every morning for breakfast has a total of 180 calories, and this helps me a lot.

I really feel what you said here. I have lost almost 60 lbs. I lost 60 from August to February and then from Feb to May gained 10 and from May until now I have lost about 5 more so my next weight loss is about 55 lbs. I think it was so much easier to lose the 60 from Aug to Feb than it has been to maintain (or try to) and…

I agree with some of the others.........you should report it to management. Maybe if they know they could be losing potential customers due to her lack of experience/enthusiasm of what ever you want to call it, they will be more likely to hire instructors who are motivating, qualified, and make people want to come back for…

There is a Jillian Michael's link to a video for arms: http://www.exercisetv.tv/workout-videos/body-sculpting/armed-dangerous-9817 I've done it and need to be more dedicated to it. All you need are about 5 lb. dumbbells.

What a great idea! I'm gonna use this!

Welcome! As long as you log in everything, you will see results! Good luck!

I have always tried to drink about 1/2 my weight. For example, if you weigh 200 lbs, drink 100 oz. a day. It seems like its hard at first, but if you are like the old me, I drank so much other stuff (cokes) that 100 oz. of liquid a day isn't that much. I think I probably drink more than what I should, but if I am thirsty I…

Ok so its official...........it does get easier day to day, just finished day 3 level 1. But are you supposed to do each level for 10 days or once you feel like you can move on? I don't think I am quite ready for level 2 yet, but don't think it will take me another 7 workouts to get there............how are you supposed to…

I used to go there 4 days a week and would barely break a sweat. Needless to say, I never really lost any weight. Granted I didn't count calories at that time either. Now in 30 minutes of working out, my shirt is drenched in sweat and I have very little left to give after a workout and I am lucky if I burn 250 in 30…

I think that both of them are probably inaccurate. You should invest in a good Heart Rate Monitor so that you can monitor your calorie burn for each individual exercise. I used to go to Curves a couple of years ago, and compared to the workouts I have now, I highly doubt I burned over 200 calories during the 30 minute…

Its a very fine line to walk. When you are overweight, you family and friends want you to be "healthy". And then once you start doing it and losing weight they make comments that make you think you are going overboard or something. I myself am still very overweight and over a 32 BMI, which is unhealthy and people tell me…

I am pretty much in the same position as you. I seem to do well and then something bad happens and I turn to food to make me feel better. As of late March, I had lost 60 lbs. On April 6th, my best friend was killed and I seemed to find so much comfort in food. Within 2 months, I gained about 10 lbs. So my weight loss ended…

I feel the same way! Food is a drug for me............I eat when I am happy, I eat when I am sad, any emotion you can think of, I eat! I find myself spending so much of my day thinking what I get to eat next. Its like my life revolves around food. Sometimes I choose not to go out with friends because I know that I don't…

I'm a day late, but I just finished Level 1 Day 1. Totally kicked my butt, at times I thought there was no way I could finish, but I did it. In fact just typing this, I can feel how sore my arms are gonna be tomorrow.........but it will all be worth it. I need to lose about 10 lbs by my birthday at the end of August. I…

My doctor prescribed it to me several years ago to help me with food cravings. She said I should lose weight with it. Although, I didn't take it for very long, and I didn't lose weight, I didn't gain any either......good luck!

I have, but there are so many that it is hard to weed out the good ones, and I guess I am looking for something that is an actual clip from an official DVD, even just 5 or 10 minutes to try out.........maybe I can ask my friend to borrow her video to try out.......Thanks!

I have a hard time when people "compliment" me. I never know if its truly a compliment or if I just have such a wall up because I have struggled with my weight for 1/2 my life. I have to flat out ask my mom not to mention my weight loss, which she still does pretty much everyday. For example today she said "and you aren't…

I've been wondering the same thing. I love to swim but my HRM isn't waterproof, so I cant accurately count the calories burned. I know that all of the calorie burned numbers are totally off from what my HRM records, so I just don't trust the calorie count that the website gives.

I never deprive myself from craving because I know that I will end up eating other stuff that I think is better than my craving and it still doesn't satisfy it................I try to eat sweets and everything else that I crave in moderation. For example, I love love love chocolate. So I buy my favorite kind, which is…

I agree! Take it off, and it sounds like if your HR is staying that high once you have stopped working out, there might be something wrong with the monitor. When I work out at my highest I get to about 160 and with a 2 minute cool down I usually drop down to about 125 and then by the time I stretch I am down to about 100.

I think its really a combo of both.............you know that without reaching your mini goals, you will never reach your big goal. I have lost all of my weight by watching my calories.........I work out too, but I have been able to lose weight with no exercise (when injured) by watching calories...........I try to limit my…

I feel the same way as you. I eat late just because that's what fits into my schedule and if I eat too early, then I am hungry around 9 and then I end up eating more anyway.............I had this annoying boyfriend who would not eat after 6 and it would absolutely drive me crazy............we had to go out on very early…

I feel the same way..........I started back in August and for the first 6 months, I did great. I lost a total of 59 lbs. In March I went on a mini-vacation and of course gain a couple lbs back, and as soon as I started getting back into my healthy routine, my best friend was tragically killed in an accident in April. Once…

I'm so excited! I just found out today that my insurance will cover me to get these veins removed! I'm really happy my insurance is going to cover it. It would be about $300 a session and my Dr said I probably need 3 sessions, so I will get it done w/o out having to pay $1000 for it! Thank God! Wish me luck, I go for my…

First let me say that I totally sympathize with you! I blame steroids for about 50% of my weight gain. Anytime my asthma has been really bad my Dr. would put me on a 7-day or so steroid treatment. This usually meant gain at least 10 lbs! Luckily, I have had my asthma under control for at least 2 1/2 years. I do not have an…

I would say just as difficult as it is to change your lifestyle and what you consume to lose weight, you are going to have to change your lifestyle again to now maintain your weight. Its not gonna be easy but try to incorporate good healthy calories in. For example you could add small things here and there like avocados to…

I tried this video for the first time today and could only get about 1/2 way through it. According to my HRM I burned about 250 calories in that 20 minutes, so I think its a great workout. I am going to have to modify some of the moves because I just can't do them. The butt kicks and high knees are almost impossible for…

You need to listen to your trainer and have to know the limitations of your knee. I know! It sucks. If you push yourself too hard even though your knee is telling you to stop. Maybe as far as cardio, you can try interval training on an arc trainer or elliptical. I have found interval training to be very beneficial for…

I too loved coca-cola and still do, but I was able to cut back from drinking anywhere between 6-10 a day. I first started by limiting myself to one a day (usually with my dinner). After about a week, I noticed how awful I felt when I did drink a coke. I would feel bloated and just not very good. I realized that I really…
