Aiming to low will actually cause your weight loss to slow... Try something like 1500, you may be surprised and loose weight even faster! I've seen it happen! Either way, if you keep going at the same pace, you're likely to get discouraged and may hurt your progress and you may even want to give up.... Please dont!

Started weighing in several a week but only recording the ones that showed progress... And there is truth in doing it on Monday morning to be accountable through the weekends so I made a compromise: Monday morning and Friday afternoon. Honesty is the best policy!

Actually? Friday afternoon, this is actually my heaviest time for the week so I always feel a little better knowing those numbers are high.

I would say after about 45minutes I notice it kicking in, but the longer I go, the more intense it gets. I feel like I could take on the world after about 120 minutes!

I remember the feeling of regret I had last time. I also learned to leave some extra wiggle room at the end of the day, cuz sometimes, I really want that glass of wine!

If you have made the decision to remake yourself, then you have made the first step. Every day, every time you doubt, every time you want to reach for a snack think to yourself- "Do I want to start all over? Or keep going, I've already started!" Every grumble of your tummy, every time you drag yourself to a workout, EVERY…

Well said. Also, exercise is a product of habit. The more you do, the more you want. But if you let yourself slide, it is a slippery slope.

ME TOO ME TOO!!!

Very true.

I like what you're getting at. If we were so fed up with ourselves at one point to demand better, then why do we discount our other qualities? If the point here is to be more wholesome then we need to love our WHOLE self. Yes, I agree that the torso shot is probably to show off progress, but I would be loathe to see people…

You will find lots of love and support here!!! If you are honest with yourself and your diet it will work!

I think its great that you openly asked her about her health and showed concern. I think the fact that she reacted so dramatically shows that you are, in part, on the right track. People often become defensive when trying to hide something like depression. But put yourself in her position, how would you have reacted if she…

The true answer is really up to you. If you feel that this is an exertion, find a way to log it. Personally I don't log short things, then at the end of the day if I'm say 15 calories over my goal I can silently tell myself that its okay because of the extra little stuff I did that day and didn't log. (I also round up on…

I have three kids myself, log in daily, but have modest ambitions at the moment. I want to loose some weight then get into the fitness/marathon training. Would love to be of some help!

Well done! What a nice refreshing reality check!

cows milk is designed to turn a 70 lb calf into a 700lb cow. you do the math. besides, almond milk is waaay tastier than soy.

Fri 09/14/12 05:07 PM I don't have cheat meals that send me over my calorie goal (well, not any more...I have had 2 all up in my 140-odd days of being on MFP). I've always exercised either before I have a big meal, or afterwards, to make sure I have enough calories in my "allowance" to cover it. Having said that, I've been…

Nothing is wrong. Some days are harder than others. Rember, if you are trying to loose weight, your allotted calories are there to do just that. If you go over by 50 or so, that's sill hundreads less than your maintenance level. It also helps to find food and drinks that help you feel full but really have no calories. Try…
