While it is true that genetics play into your numbers, most people can lower them with diet/exercise. Limit saturated (animal fats) - will help lower ldl, and get more polyunsaturated/monounsaturated (plant-based fats) - will help raise you hdl. It makes since that your triglycerides were lowered, carbs have a direct…

I think if you enter the time of the run when you log it into mfp it won't double log. I could be wrong, but that's how I understand it.

Awesome!

I'm right there with you. Would like to lose 10lbs. I'll do good for a while, then a few days undo all my hard work! I just need to be consistent!!!

You won't lose wt just from using coconut oil, BUT I do think it's a overall healthy fat. I wasn't sure about using it at first since it's a saturated fat, but I had read that it was good for you. I get labs done twice a year, one for my wellness program at work and another for the insurance through my husband's work. My…

You look great!

I'm a nurse also, haven't worked in the hospital setting for over two yrs now though. I would have loved to have had my fitbit when I did work on the floor though. I'm sure it's easy to get that many steps in a shift! At least now you know you can eat a little more on days you work - if you have the time to eat!

I get what you're saying about becoming overwhelmed with weighing every little thing. Most low cal veggies I just guess at the serving size. I've maintained a 40lb weight loss for >10yrs without tracking. I'm tracking a little closer now because I'd like to lose 5-10 pounds before a cruise in april. If you are losing wt…

I did a zumba video on youtube the other day with my 3 and 5 yr olds. They loved it and I was able to workout without getting interrupted with them fighting with each other! lol I just did a search for "zumba".

5'2 cw 131 gw 120-125 Those last few are hard! You know you're at an already healthy wt, but would like to lose some "vanity" pounds. Those just don't seem as important and those "cheat" meals keep adding up! Feel free to add me.

I had never tried zumba, but was looking for a workout I could include my kids in so they weren't interrupting me every five minutes. Found a video on youtube and we had a great time! It was hilarious! They dance as bad as I do. :)

Are you getting a lot of veggies? LOAD UP on non-starchy veggies. Measure out a portion of pasta, fill in with veggies, and choose red sauce over cream sauces. Quantity vs quality works well when you're trying to fill up. With pizza - make it at home, thin crust, you control the ingredients and have a salad with it. Good…

Hi! I also lost weight in my early 20s (around 40 pds). I've been around 135, except when pregnant, for around 10 yrs. I'm 5'2, so I'd really like to lose around 10 more pds. I usually eat pretty healthy during the week, but can fall off the wagon on the weekends. I've decided to get serious though. I want to look better…
