White rice tastes gross. I use a brown and wild mix, or a pre-packaged wild rice blend. Great for flavor, nutrition and filling you up on lower calories. It is best cooked with stock rather than water!!

This is my take. At least. if you are eating things like trout, salmon and tuna. But if you are going for catfish and tilapia, that would be equvalent of eating meat... Bad fats.

Real milk and cultured milk (kefir). Real milk has high quality protein, the others do not. I drink real milk because it is one of the most nutritional beverages available to mankind. I do non-fat because I get enough fat elsewhere.

I have found that the MFP calculations work phenomanally well for me. I set myself as sedentary, and I eat back my workout calories... unless I go hiking and burn like 4000-5000. Then I will not eat the all back. As for myself, I would just log my evening exercises and eat the calories the following day to make sure that I…

Yeah. ^^^^^ That! Por favor!

The 2900 sounds high to me. How tall are you? Also, you do not have to wait to "eat back" your calories. If you know what your workout is gong to consist of, you can eat those calories throughout the day rather than after you work out. If you are worried about not getting to your planned workout, you can log your workouts…

Now, why would meat and dairy be bad for an animal that evolved to eat meat and dairy and is designed to eat meat and dairy?

^^^ No doubt!

Sometimes. But rarely...

One thing that got me, is Greek Yogurt that isn't plain. I will still get a single serving flavored one if I am going to be out over night, but the amount of carbs (I love carbs, the majority of my food is carbs) is just way to high...

My healthfoods usually come with skin or shells... And are often high in sugsr or fat...

When you make your own frozen meals, they are still so much better. And, if you make a very large batch, after 3 weeks, you have a good variety to choose from as long as you made enough. Also, you can make one food into a few different things. For instance, when I make crawfish ettouffe, I will make enough rice to make…

Some people are less fortunate than you, and do not have your means. I have been eating mostly chicken for meat lately, as that is what will fit in my budget as a protein food. I did just buy 2 pork roasts... buy one get one free at Krogers. That will make some yummy tacos!!

Absolutely serious. It is the oly way I make them or order them.

Sacrilege! Fresh basil is great in veggie juices, by the way! =)

Try a mid-rare burger with 80/20. It is nasty. Try a mid-rare burger with 90/10, it is perfection!! Perfection is better quality, in my book!!

Until a few days ago, I was on a 1650 calorie intake. That would probably be equivalent to you being on a 1200 calorie intake. I am 6 ft and 238 lbs. I just upped it to 2080 so as to slow my eight loss down. (this is net. I eat back my workout calories) I don't see how that can be considered "to low" especially for a…

Perfectly stated. /thread

Another thing, from my experience. If I drink 5 8oz glasses of juice, it hydrated me so well it was insane. I used to do that. I would wake up hydrated even.

Well, I will say this. I had my goals set to lose 1.9 lb/wk. Over the last month, I have almost always been under my calorie goal. Sometimes significantly as I do some hardcore exercising at times. I was losing 3.5lb/wk. I just upped my calories so as to lose a lb/wk. If I was eating my full calories back, I guess I would…

It is pretty good at predicting, I must say!

I need to start juicing again. I may do a juice fast for Lent if I can afford it.
-
I would guess that you need more fiber in your diet. I am not suggesting you stop juicing. Do that. I would say add some Greek yogurt and/or kefir to your diet, and maybe do fruit smoothies. Add beans and lentils to your diet, and other good fibrous foods such as wild rice. The extra fiver and the probiotics should help to…

Fruit and veggies. Bring a lot of nuts with you, as they will stay well. Also, deli sections in grocery stores are great for the budget, especially in Ireland, where everything costs so dang much! Also, in Ireland, if that is one of the places you are going, you can do the bed and breakfast houses which are very cheap.…

I am down for that! It is something I am aiming for already!!

I really like the Vitamin World "GreenSource" one. It is a 3 a day (I only take one or 2). It has a lot of plant sourced hutrients and probiotics as well.
