This is good but unless you eat less than you burn you could still gain weight eating these foods. It's all about portion size.

You can't lose weight soaking in a tub. You don't lose weight by sprinkling flavor enhancer on your food. You don't lose weight with shakes and supplements. There is no magic pill. You lose weight by consuming less calories than you use.

This plus disposable reuseable glad containers. I have 1 cup ones that have marks on that side at 1/2 cup. This makes making lunches for things like cottage cheese, applesauce, yogurt, super easy to portion out. I have a bluetooth HRM and I love to use it with my phone for mapping and tracking outside running. I also use…

Do this it works. Except for me on #4, I prefer to run alone for others belonging to a group can get you out more often. My schedule doesn't usually allow that so I run when I can. #3 was huge for me. Even on the treadmill I can set measurable goals and they translate to real world improvements.

It's hard for you to see it in yourself. Many of us will continue to see the fat version of ourselves in the mirror. We see ourselves everyday and it's hard to detect the changes as they happen. Taking pictures and comparing them over time is the way to see the difference.

You keep saying this and it's a bit rude. The whole number game is estimates built on estimates. The calories in the food is estimated. The amount of fat in your body is estimated. The number of calories burned is estimated. The amount that it takes to burn the estimated amount of fat is estimated. The amount your body…

Think about this though, weight loss with diet without exercise will make you look good with clothes on. Weight loss with diet and exercise will make you look good with your clothes off. It's your choice.

I often wonder why some things stick and others things that I eat often don't.

What's the question?

Does your gym have any free assistance for setting up a workout plan and teaching you how to use the equipment available without hurting yourself. Not all gyms have free help available and not all of them are competent but its usually a good place to start. We don't know what you have available to you so it is difficult to…

It's a watch with a chest strap. I have not heard of a good wrist only monitor.

Talk to a doctor. You didn't gain it in a month your not going to lose it in a month. Instead of trying to lower your calories do you have any room to improve the nutrition? More protein, less carbs, more whole foods, less processed foods. Everybody is always talking about calories is what counts but I think the…

I remember when I first run a mile on the tread mill. It wasn't that long ago. It's a big deal. So well done! I used to hate running mostly because I couldn't do it. I've run 2 5k's since then. Some people say outside running is harder. I think paved trail running is easier. Dirt trail is different. Edit: noticed the post…

Lots of kids in the 5k I ran yesterday, It was a walk/run. My kids can go that distance, at least walking. We've done some hiking and they can do it with backpacks on. The youngest I took one of them was 3 miles when she was 4 and she carried her own pack with sleeping bag and a change of clothes. My oldest 3 want to do my…

They can often be found at asian grocery stores or health food stores. Some of the big chain stores have them as well. They will likely be in the glutun free section but some have tofu in them and will be found with other refrigerated tofu foods. The tofu ones aren't zero calorie (20-40 cals usually). The ones with tofu in…

Is reindeer the same as Caribou? The caribou I brought home from Alaska was some of the best meat I've ever had. Very lean but very tasty. If it's similar to what I brought home you cook it the same way you would cook similar cuts of beef. It's it's tougher and gamier like venison then try venison recipes.

I use the Meijer (local store) brand stevia in packets. I don't use it much in plain yogurt and unsweetened applesauce mostly. I like it. I haven't tried any of the other brands.

It looks like your trying to attach pictures from Gmail. That's not going to work. As soon as you admitted your secret I knew where this story was going and I was cheering and crying by the end.

For less than $20 you can make your own. Google it, all they are is straps with handles on them.

1000 calories is 90 minutes of intense exercise. I did it last night playing 7 games of racquetball. Is your Goal weight set to lose 2 lbs a week? That's pretty aggressive but everybody seems to start with that. I understand wanting to lose as much as fast as you can but in many cases that leads to burn out. My favorite…

12 days is not very long. If you've made these radical changes your body may still be trying to adjust.

I bought a size medium shirt today. I don't remember the last time I wore a medium. When my wife bought me a 2XL that was one of the things that motivated my lifestyle change.

High cal, high sodium, low nutrition. Cheap, easy, fast, and tasty. I remember the days of eating 2 packages as a side dish to a meal. It's no wonder I'm fat. Look into Shiritaki noodles if you want pasta. They have no calories and hence no nutritional value but if your looking for a pasta substitute they work. Make sure…

It takes a lot of work and effort to get bulked up like that. It makes me laugh every time someone says I don't want to lift because I don't want to get bulky.

I don't think there is anything wrong with food rewards as long as it's not bingeing or often enough to hurt progress. Small snacks and treats are great mini reward incentives for some people. There are also dangerous for others like a recovering alcoholic having a drink. I think final goal weight rewards should be some…

I'm a guy, I'm not supposed to get excited about clothes. I danced a little jig and was as giddy as a school girl when I dropped a pant size. My plan was to buy new clothes but it happened much sooner than I expected. I'm only half way to goal so now I'm hoping to drop another size. I'm living with baggy pants and am…
