  • Weight loss is 100% diet, fitness is 100% exercise. You can lose weight by eating less, you will increase fitness by moving more. Loseing weight thru diet you will look good with your clothes on, lose weight with exercise and you will look good with your clothes off. Google the term "skinny fat". You can lose weight just…
  • Couch to 5k or c25k, google it. It's a program to take a non- runner to running a 5k. It does it gradually and is great for people that have never run before. Work it with your friend and you will have a great time doing it. It sounds like you've picked a fun race for your first one. Just be careful because once biten by…
  • I'm not seeing bashing.
  • The first line of the first post links to the thread this is continued from.
  • Lifting light for 3 hours vs. lifting heavy for 30 minutes will give you different results. I know all bags of dog food aren't light but how many 100lb bags of dog food do you lift? My guess is the majority of what you lift isn't "heavy". The movement is great but it depends on what your goals are as to how much progress…
  • Many say resistance first so that your not tired and have the best form. It's harder to lift with proper form if your already tired from cardio.
  • I absolutely love racquetball, I can barely squeeze in 2 games a week. One of them I drive 40 minutes each way to play at.
  • My work says they do but they do all this ineffective stuff. They have health coaches but every time one calls you and tells you they are your coach the next time they call it's someone else. They are just reading from scripts when you ask questions they don't have any real knowledge or training. I wish my wok would pay…
  • Lucky! I've got to drive to my gym at lunch. By the time I drive there workout, get a shower, drive back, I can barely squeeze a 30 minute workout in.
  • One small sustainable change at a time. Don't try to change everything at one time. Make a it a lifestyle change not a "diet". Don't go crazy low calorie. If your hungry your doing it wrong.
  • No fad diets, no special supplements. Load up on lean meats, fruits, and veggies. Cut back and limit processed food. Make healthy choices. Research your food, low fat, no fat, light, diet, nutrition added, are all buzz words for healthier food that isn't always healthy. With many things I'd rather cut my portion by 10%…
  • For me I have to eat more often but just try to control my portions and eat healthy. Fresh foods, lean meats, fruits and vegetables seem to help me curb my hunger the most.
  • As a married man I encourage you to not withdraw from your husband or withhold your body from him or from him seeing it. Guys are visually stimulated we want to see. If you don't let him see he may be tempted to look for it elsewhere. We also don't understand when our wives withdraw from us because of their own perceived…
  • Man you should just stop. Broscience = claiming wikipedia is an authoritative source and quoting it without providing a link or any reference.

  • Today's foods are engineered to make you feel not full and to want more of them. When Lay's potato chips say "You can't eat just one" they mean it because they've made them that way.
  • Not processed foods, you want whole foods, lean meats, fresh fruits and veggies. These foods will help you with weight loss. Stop eating engineered crap that is designed to make you want more and not feel full. Why do so many people drink coke? Why can't they quit? It's because it's engineered to be addicting. I'm not…
  • Making your observations match your theory, that's broscience dude! The earth is not round.... It's an ellipsoid.

  • If they can't have fun because you aren't drinking that's their problem. Don't go.
  • You are not going to bulk up. You have no idea the effort people that look like that go to. So stop using that as excuse. Pick heavy things up, put them down, repeat.
  • You can't spot remove so just keep working at it. When your at a healthy body fat % then it might be time to consult a doctor on what your options are if it bothers you enough to want to do something surgically about it.
  • Everyone I've known that has tried it couldn't sustain it. Several of them lost significant amounts of weight. Everyone of them gained it back plus some. I've never done it. I don't like diets that tell you to eat certain things or don't allow you to eat certain things. I'm more of the mindset all things in moderation…
  • If your not losing as fast as you think you should be or your struggling with why your not losing then you need to log every single thing. That will either motivate you to do better or tell you why your not doing as well as you should.
  • Welcome to one-derland! Keep it rolling!
  • I would encourage you to ask people that have cheat days or cheat meals how effective their weight loss has been. Then decide how serious about your weight loss you want to be. Also anyone at or near healthy weight or just looking to maintain has different goals and calorific needs then those of us trying to lose weight.…
  • Take a deep breath.... Don't try to change everything at once. Start with portion control. Then make healthier choices. Slowly cut back and eliminate the things that are the worst offenders. Ignore the macro's as others have said until you get a grip on your calories. Make changes you can sustain long term. It's much…
  • Depends on what you mean by cheat meal. Instead of starving myself so that I can binge on a regular basis I'd rather run a reasonable deficit and eat the same all the time. I'm not cutting anything out, I'm not forbidden to eat anything. I just need to make it fit within my goals. I quickly learned that I'd rather eat a…
  • I have a Yonana machine and the kids prefer that to ice cream. You can do almost the same thing in a blender but you'll probably have to add some milk or other liquid to get it to blend.
  • Don't let where you were yesterday determine where you'll be tomorrow, let today decide where you will be tomorrow.
