  • Yeah, adjust your goal a bit and just keep at it, you'll never lose weight as fast as you'd like. Its a very long process and most of us here are just at the beginning, 1lb a week is not going to be as instantly gratifying as 2.5lbs a week, but it is much easier to stick with. Also, if you've been working out more, you may…
  • I came on here to say the same thing.... thank you for stating it. The 8 glasses thing is a ridiculously pervasive myth based on a bad misinterpretation of a good study. Drink as much or as little water as you feel necessary... sorry to be crude, but your urine should be a very light yellow color. If it is clear in color,…
  • My biggest problem with the "weekly" philosophy is that 1 bad weekly measurement could screw you up mentally for your entire week... and possibly put the entire project in jeopardy... if you get depressed enough. I think a daily measurement that is a bit higher is less likely to destroy your confidence to the point that…
  • I find it to be much easier if I set my goal to 1.5 lb a week or 1lb a week, rather than try to do 2 or 2.5... it makes the lifestyle change a lot easier, and doesn't disrupt my entire life like trying to restrict my calories to an intolerable level.... and makes me a lot more likely to stick with it when I don't see it as…
  • Weigh yourself as much as you like.... just don't get upset at the higher numbers.... only take pride in the low ones. A low measurement in the morning can brighten and motivate for an entire day. Don't put too much stock into a measurement if it ends up a pound or two higher, it isn't a big deal.
  • Cheap bathroom scales are mechanical devices that tend to report differently depending on where they are.... I really notice my crummy weight watchers electronic scale will report different weights if I weigh myself 3 times in a row on it. It also changes based on where my feet are on the scale... the best thing you can do…
  • Stick to things you know the calories of.... I always just stay with Bud Light for better or worse.... 110ish calories per bottle.... it might not be as exciting, but I can track it well. Also only go all out once a week or something.... I'll have a drink or 2 during the week, but there will usually be one day a week of…
