Our bodies were not designed to handle the abundance of food that we enjoy in modern society... Its kind of hard to fault 100000 years of human evolution for not being able to keep up with the last 50-100 years of technological advances. Its the (relatively small) price we must pay to overcome famine and starvation...

+1.... good one.

It would be nice. Pretty much all the MFP groups that I've used have never been particularly lively.

Beer is my kryptonite. I love craft beer. I've been abstaining since the beginning of the year, but that ends Sunday. I'm worried about how things go after that...
-
Looking forward to weighing in tomorrow.... I don't expect a big loss though. My weight has been pretty steady all week.
-
^ Correct... and your avatar is amazing.
-
Not much activity around here in a while, that's for sure....
-
Yeah.... its not health food by any means, but if it fits in your budget, feel free!

32s are a mythical....

Welcome to MFP, you're making a good choice, hopefully one of many. Best wishes!

I cut out alcohol 2 weeks ago and I have no social life now... what do non-drinkers do for fun?
-
Yup.... Cincinnati....
-
I really like Hall and Oates.

... everything everyone said is good. I just wanted to add that if you aren't already, start taking measurements in addition to weighing yourself. It can help you see progress that might not be shown by the scale.
-
I've been doing this.... its not been terrible so far because my partner has been told not to drink for a while because of her migraine issues... we do have about $100+ of good craft beer in the fridge, though, going to waste.

I agree with you, I don't really like most healthy foods much. If you're having trouble eating "healthy", just eat "less". I pretty much eat whatever I want, but just make sure to keep my portions in check to keep myself under my goal. It might work for you, although some people will probably think its blasphemy.

Its tough.... the best way (short of not drinking, obviously) would be to just exercise to make up the difference. I managed it for a while, but its tough because drinking usually leads to bad food decisions... or hangovers, for which the best cure seems to be bad food...

Good work, everyone!
-
Welcome... This is a good place to help do that. If you stick with it, you can definitely meet your goals....
-
Welcome....
-
Feel free to add me.... the more the merrier!

+1 for the people defending gardening.... 4 hours of gardening can really kick your butt, if you're doing it right....
-
This has been the most effective for me in the past. Any "diets" seem to just get annoying and repetitive after a while, this at least lets me choose what I eat....
-
I love my craft beer, but generally it just kills my progress so I try to keep it in moderation.... feel free to add me.
-
The only morals I need: "Don't be a dick"
-
+1 for chili..... it is easy to prepare and typically good for you.
-
Hi everyone.... I just joined today, looking forward to seeing how everyone does....

For some reason I can't stop listening to Lateralus lately... I haven't listened to it in like 10 years and then it just hit me.

Whiteys is so nasty..... it makes you feel terrible for at least a day.... its only good when drunk.
