  • You shouldn't need a powder - just low carb foods to get you into ketosis.
  • I have a couple of squares of 85% chocolate most days, which is about 3gm carbs. IIFYM etc...
  • I have had problems over the years with my 410 - sometimes it won't download to my PC, which can be very frustrating, other times it will take 20 min to get a satellite signal, in the exact same place it took 30 seconds the day before. That gets annoying when you are only wanting to record a 15 min commute. I don't think I…
  • Weekdays I have 3 a day in an omelette, a couple fried or poached at the weekends, and half a dozen in a couple of lo-carb loaves I make every week, so around 24 a week.
  • I often do 3-4 hour cycle rides on keto - no need to eat while I am out. I'm not racing, just cycling for fitness and enjoyment. I don't have the explosive power that I do when I am eating processed/starchy carbs, but then I don't hit the wall, either.
  • You have to count calories for any weight loss in my experience - I find with keto WOE I feel fuller on less food. If I eat processed carbs like bread and pasta, I get hungry much sooner than snacking on cheese and ham. We're all different; I am just happy I have found something that works for me.
  • search for the low carb, and keto groups on here. They will help.

  • In the UK, Halo Top ice cream. Around 5gm of carbs per 100gm.
  • I cut down on the Bad White Stuff like bread, pasta, sugar, rice and spuds for a week or so (eating smaller potions or avoiding them completely,) then when I felt it was the right time to commit, cut down to 30g carbs a day on MFP. (I am a large build and active) I first tried keto 5 years ago and the comment that made me…
  • Lots of good info here too: https://www.reddit.com/r/ketogains/
  • I saw it mentioned on reddit when i was looking at weight loss info on there, and did some reading. The thing that prompted me to try was someone saying you can make it as easy or hard as you like. I started easy, then got more careful logging etc. Broke a very long plateau and did it for a few months. My weight loss…
  • Been frying a couple of slices of this in fat to have as toast with my omelette. Worth trying...
  • I made this this evening - chopped up Chorizo instead of chia (because I like it) and used yoghurt instead of quark. It's pretty tasty, and I will try it again with quark. I'll have some with my omelette in the morning and then burn off any carbs cycling to work. Thanks for posting.
  • I have breakfast every day, and lunch but I am happy with snacks for evening meal. I eat about 12-1500 cals before I think about eating in the evening. I find I get grumpy if I don't have breakfast but we are all different.
  • You need to read a lot about it rather than just asking here, and make your own mind up about it. There are low carb and keto groups that may be more supportive than the general forums here. Personally, I haver fewer cravings and less desire to snack while I am in Ketosis, and I can lose weight with less effort than I have…

  • Seriously, don't worry. See how you are in 30 days. Stick to your macros, and the science will work. It's not easy but it is doable. Also, what Qweck said - note clothing fit and belt sizes. Sometimes I don't lose weight for a week but then I notice I need another hole in my belt.
  • I seem to consume about 40 but take off the fibre and it's much lower. I am around 100kg atm and walk about 8 miles a day which helps burn of any excess. Sometimes I think I have overdone it (wine or a couple of beers on a Friday night ) but I still have the smelly pee in the morning. I think everyone is different though,…
  • I had disrupted sleep weeks 3-6 but then settled pretty well. Usually the issue is needing a pee around 4am from all the water. Now I can get back to sleep immediately instead of lying awake for 2 hours.
  • Search fro Low Carb and Keto groups on here - plenty of support and information there.

  • I ask people why they didn't tell me my diet was bad when I was 25lb heavier and stuffing cake, bread, beer and potatoes into my face as fast and as often as I could. When people say the weight will go back on when I stop the Keto WOE, (I may or may not long term - not sure yet) I tell them when I stopped working out, my…
  • Yes, I lost around 25lb in 3 months but a month at home with family meant I stopped that WOE, and gained about 10lb. I am back on the Keto WOE again - everything you read about weightloss will tell you it's not linear and weight fluctuates. Count calories, be strict (cheating WILL lead to weight gain) and the science will…
  • Yeah, I spent 4 weeks back home in NZ and put on 4kg. I was expecting that though (was planning on 5kg) but I am back on the wagon now.
  • This morning I wore my ski jacket to walk to work as it's getting cooler. I always used to button the elasticated snow skirt up inside it. as it stopped the cold wind getting in. The elastic was so slack around me that the wind kept getting in.
  • Sometimes, but then I remember I hate being fat more than I hate logging calories.
  • I found my weight stayed the same for a couple of weeks but I noticed clothes getting looser and belts tightening another hole. Just be patient and it will work. Think of it as losing 9lbs in two weeks - that's pretty good.
  • Yes - same omelette for breakfast mon-fri as it's easy to prep. I prep the same lunches for work - chicken thighs, broccoli and creamy blue cheese sauce - because it's easy and I like it. Dinner is different every night, with extra veg/fat for me and carbs for my non-keto gf.
  • ^^My comment up there should say 44" chest, not waist... Another bonus is my flatulence has diminished to about 1/10 of what it is if I eat processed carbs.
  • My gf knows I am doing this - We eat similar meals but I will have more veggies and maybe a cheese sauce, while she has carbs. Works ok so far.
  • Sorry TC, I should have explained that. Every day's a school day.
  • This is my second time in ketosis, the last time was 5 years ago. I did it for a few months but hit a plateau. I can't remember how long for but it may have been the PISS. My weight stayed at 99-100 constantly but in hindsight, I was cycling a lot and was probably swapping fat for muscle. I have decided to commit again,…
