Losing weight comes with eating at a deficit, but I imagine it's a very good muscle endurance and cardio workout. So it'll definitely aid you in losing weight and get you... "toned".

No, I'm from the UK but thank you for your post. Got a pair of chucks, use them often but I didn't think they were that effective, I have been thinking about a pair of Adipowers actually.
