I can totally relate to this. I went through a phase of eating really really less for months on end. I'm not sure if I was anorexic but I definitely had most of the traits. During my binge eating phase, I would eat a couple of hundred calories during the day for around a week and then one day in the week, I'd binge at…

You haven't taken in the fact that healthy meals tend to be much less in calories than high fat, sugary foods. I used to live on a diet of burgers and bread plus lots of sugary cakes and chocolates. I would often have nothing until 6/7pm in the evening when I'd eat a meal of burger and chips, with fizzy drink plus some…

I noticed a difference quite early on. I think once I'd lost around 10-15 lbs I could definitely see that I'd lost weight but nobody else could tell at all. Now, I've lost just over 20 lbs and so far only once person has noticed :( but again, I can tell a big difference so I'm happy. Still have a way to go yet!

I eat around 1200 calories per day. I eat a lot of food; maybe more than I ate to get this big! Before I would only eat one meal per day, some days I had no meals, just junk food like cakes and crisps all day. Now, I struggle to eat 1200 calories per day. This isn't because suddenly this is too many calories, but because I…

Only weigh in once a month! I only lost 3 lbs this month.. but that's about average. I'm on 1200 calories, exercise around 4-6 days per week. If I were to weigh every single week I'd go mad the weeks I lost nothing!

I've been like this for some years. I think mine was due to the way I used to think of food as either being bad or good. For around 4-6 months I would eat nothing but very small amounts of 'good food'. I'd lose a fair amount of weight and get slim and feel good about myself but then there came a point when I just couldn't…

Hi, mine's open.. but I don't always eat right. I'm still working on that yet! I am on here everyday though and I try to be motivating :)

I have the same breakfast every day (not sure if that's a bad thing but I love knowing what I'm having). I have 100% oats, with berries (like blueberries/raspberries) and seeds (like sunflower/pumpkin/linseed). I also might occasionally add around 30g of peanut butter, which is gorgeous but really high in calories so I…

I have this problem too. At the moment I'm around a UK size 16 so obviously have a very large stomach, but even when I was a UK size 4-6 I still had a stomach! Obviously, it wasn't huge back then but I didn't have a really flat stomach and had to stay away from really tight clothing as I looked podgy. Back then however, I…

I'm 5' 2'' and would like to get down to 110 lbs. I've been around that weight previously and I think I looked and felt quite good at the weight. I was a UK size 10 back then, so not skinny but just right I think.

Great post. I completely agree with this although I still rely on numbers somewhat as I know when I looked and felt good and would like to get to around that number again. After years of weighing myself on a daily basis when trying to lose weight (sometimes twice daily), I now only weigh myself once a month. That way I…

I still call my dad 'daddy' too :( I'm 26 but I can't suddenly call him dad now; it'll feel weird.

Do whatever works for you. Everyone is different, what works for one person won't work for another. As long as you're losing weight and feel great, you should continue :)

Hi.. welcome to the site :) I'm sort of in the same boat as you. I've always been able to lose weight but then I stop losing and go back to my old habits and re-gain all the weight back. I'm hardly an expert at giving advice on long-term weight loss therefore, but I just wanted to say that what I've decided to do now is to…

I eat junk food pretty much every day and still have managed to lose weight. In the evening I'm so used to having something sweet with my cup of tea that to stop doing that now would make this feel too much like a diet. I tend to go for small chocolates or cereal bars (<150 calories) or 2 biscuits (<100) or a bit of dark…

You have all just made me realise how silly I'm being by not going and now I am getting ready to join the gym!! Just going to go in there, put my mp3 player on and get on with my workout. Looking forward to going now even though I'm still a little nervous. Thank you all for your comments :)

Lol, my sister uses that excuse a lot as people keep asking her why she's so big. Her 'baby' is almost 2 years old now! However, now she's having another baby so she doesn't have to lie anymore :)

Like others have said, you're probably retaining a lot of water. I once gained 6 lbs in a single day after I had a binge! It made me feel like I'd completely ruined everything and I felt like giving up, but over the next few days I lost most of that weight. Just go back to eating like you were and exercise and it'll come…

Me neither :( I really tried my best but I just fall flat on my face when I attempt them and even doing the easier version on my knees is impossible! I found a video on YouTube which is pretty helpful so I will hopefully give that a go to improve my upper body strength. Here's the video, give it a go:…

I'm short (only 5'2) and I usually walk at around 5mph.

I would put you at around early to mid 40's.

I can totally relate to you. For years I've lost weight through eating ridiculously low calories for months on end (and then regaining all the weight plus more each time when going back to eating more). I now realise that that isn't a healthy way to get slim, (well, I knew it wasn't healthy but I just wanted to get thin so…

Have a cup of tea. Or if your really hungry just eat another light meal, like a soup or have a bowl of oats with water or milk. You really shouldn't let yourself go hungry though as then this will become a diet and you're likely to give up. Even if you go over your calorie limit, tomorrow is another day and hopefully you…

Yesterday I cooked my meals for the rest of week (excluding breakfast) and put most of it in the freezer. Apparently a lot of people do this so I think most things can be frozen.

I used to be exactly the same. I wouldn't even know what to do with half the stuff but now I'm finally just trying out foods that I would never have even considered before. 1. Cottage cheese - I love this stuff! It's delicious, I had it today with lunch. 2. Greek yogurt - I still want to try it, they never seem to have any…

I feel exactly the same way. I have really struggled lately to make the 1200 calories recommended as I find I'm missing meals due to laziness. When I do have something to eat I go for convenience rather than have to spend time cooking and opt for toast or a sandwich. Been having way too much bread lately. I really badly…

I have been drinking lots of water today. Hope that helps!

The pain came literally as I finished eating.. I can only assume it's related to the food that I ate. Maybe next time when I want a cheat meal I'll have something lighter like a baguette.
-
Yes, I'm certain it was okay as I gave a little bit of it to my niece and she's fine. It was a chicken burger - I've been eating them for years from that place and they've always been fine. Maybe I just ate too much :/

That's really nice of you to want to help and support others even though you've reached your goal. I have a long way to go to get to where I need to be. I have over 40 lbs to lose and need all the support and encouragement I can get so add me please :)
