I totally agree with this!! You are amazing. I am so happy for you!!

Tracking and limiting your sodium will go a long way towards lowering your blood pressure. And eventually, you will feel better from eating less salt. I was a salt-o-holic when my doctor told my to keep my sodium down. I didn't think I could do it, but it was surprisingly easy. As for the veggies, when I was your age I…

Me too! I/m constantly having to explain that I do not eat fish. Constantly. People do not get it.

You are amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing. This was extremely informative and motivational.

Great advice! I'll try this. :) Thanks!!

I have no advice, just empathy. I have the same issue. Just keep trying, that is all we can do. :)

Well, it is better than being my age and people assuming I'm too old to get pregnant...which I AM NOT!!! Thankyouverymuch! ;)

I <3 Trader Joe's!! Their organic fresh veggies are great. They have a lot of delicious vegetarian frozen dinners at great prices. I love their organic coffee....things that are vegan will have a V symbol on them. :) Ask their staff for suggestions. Many of the staff members at the one I shop at are vegan or vegetarian and…

I think you should ask your doctor for your particular situation. My doctor highly recommended it to me, so I eat tons of it and drink soy milk (which I like better than cow milk). I only buy organic, GMO-free, etc. and I feel great and enjoy the health benefits of it.

Your story is very inspirational! 50 lbs is pretty darn good. Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to more updates from you in the future.

Congratulations! Well done! And thank you so much for the inspiration! BTW, you have beautiful children!

Oh, one more thing! Many years ago, a friend got the shock of her life. Because she was too permissive with her son, and let him eat whatever he wanted, when he was 6 years old, he was diagnosed with malnutrition. Her pediatrician told her that if she could just get him to eat some whole wheat bread every day, his health…

I take the supplements that my doctor has asked me to take. But, I also eat as healthy as I can, as my doctor tells me that I still need to eat healthy. I eat one fruit a day at most, but mostly because I don't like sweet things. I LOVE vegetables. 10 years ago, I would not believe the amount of vegetables I eat every day…

You've received some great advice here. I just would like to welcome you back and wish you well!!

I completely agree. And I've never been healthier in my life. I'm in my late 40's but feel much better than when I was a young meat-eater. At my last doctor's appointment, the doctor told me how good my vegetarian lifestyle is.

Great ideas. Thanks for sharing!

Heck yeah! I get almost everything from Trader Joe's now, which is crazy, because the healthy stuff at Trader Joe's costs less that the items at the "regular" grocery store, i.e., Kroger, Food Lion, Farm Fresh. And the Trader Joe's items taste better too. :) I rarely eat out anymore, so my food bill has gone down.…

Well done! You look amazing! I'm so happy for you. :)

Good for you! (On reporting the mean post.) I try not to get into anything other than diet/weight loss/fitness things, but I have to say that snarky comments tend to make reading on MFP less pleasant... Great thread, BTW. I learned a lot. I should add that the only time I didn't have some belly fat was when I was in…

Congratulations! You have done really well!

MFP is accurate in sodium count. I usually get in about 1500 mg sodium per day, and I can assure you, I don't cook much. There are two important factors in getting in lowering sodium: 1) at the grocery store, check everything for sodium count. For example, I not longer buy pickles because they are insanely high in sodium.…

I agree -- it motivates me to exercise if I "get" to add the expended calories on and eat them. Sometimes if I want to plan a big meal for dinner, I will exercise during the day so I have enough calories.

Great thread. My TDEE is 1876, but, I work at a desk job. So to lose a pound a week, I think I would eat 1376 + my exercise calories. I used the calculator on fitnessfrog.com and input that I got little to no exercise normally. Does that make sense? I'll see how this works. I am committed, I am BEYOND committed, for the…

I completely agree. Thank you, OP!

You sound like a good kitty mommy. I've had four cats over the years, and my youngest kitty was a Manx who frequently had crystals in her bladder. There was always blood in her urine, and she would go all over the house; she must have had the constant urge to urinate. She would immediately feel better and stop when we went…

Wow!! Way to get healthy!! Thanks for the inspiration!!

Congratulations!! Keep up the good work!!

Happy one year anniversary! You can definitely see the results of your hard work! And I agree, MFP is much more than a calorie tracker. Here's to another year with MFP!

This is great advice!! I'm going to print this out. Thanks! Good thread, OP!

Great work!! You look great!!
