I agree -- doable, but you will have to be almost perfect with your efforts. Good luck!

Great work!!!

Good for you for taking control of your health! Well done!!!!

Also...if 67% are obese, then 33% are NOT obese...so possibly, of the 44% who eat breakfast, all of those but 11% are NOT obese...that would leave 56% of the population NOT eating breakfast, and they are obese...so your figures support *eating* breakfast. Of course, I'm sure the numbers don't work out to be that…

Sounds good! I'll have to give this a try.

WOW! You are amazing!!! Congratulations!! And thanks for posting your inspirational story. I'm sure I am not the only one you helped tonight. :)

If you are eating right about the number of calories MFP says to eat (i.e., not too much, not too little), with everything else you are doing, I think it is just a matter of waiting this out. Take it day by day. You can totally do this. One more thing: trying new healthy foods, different veggies cooked differently helps me…

I can help here. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure last April, and my doctor told me to keep the sodium below 2500 mg per day. First thing I did was to start paying attention to the sodium content in everything I ate. MFP is most helpful with this. Holy cow, no wonder I had high blood pressure! I was eating 7000 to…

You sound like a smart and committed person, and I see you've received some good advice on this thread. I just wanted to wish you lots of luck. Especially with your busy life, you may find the changes overwhelming at first, but just stick with it and it will become easy in no time at all.

That's great! You are inspiring me!!

I was getting ready to post, but the above poster typed everything I was going to type. From experience, I can tell that you are probably going over 2500 mg sodium per day. And again, from experience, I know I would be retaining water. The advice this poster gave is the same I would give.

Wow!! Thanks for sharing your inspirational story! You've done very well!

You look great!! Thanks so much for the inspiration!!

I don't know anything about you (current weight, age, etc.) but I would say the same thing if I knew: ask your doctor what he/she thinks you should do. I will give you some words of comfort: I gained 36 lbs while pregnant, but lost 50 within the first four months after my son was born and I didn't even try. I was up and…

Way to go! You look great! Keep up the good work! I'll bet you feel a lot better, too. :)

I have to admit I've never heard of horse/rider insurance, either. My horse is insured thankfully, in case she needs medical care Where in the US do you live? I live in southeastern Virginia and horse leasing is very, very common here. :)

I currently own a 9-year-old Trakehner chestnut mare, my sweet Aurora GS. She is currently being trained by my super-fab trainer for hunter equitation and over fences (English)...but we are thinking about taking her to cross-country events. She is 17.3 hh and a sweet girl. She and other horses I ride are a major motivation…

I generally ignore them...with the pushy ones, I tell them that my excellent doctor told me to do it (which is also true.) That usually shuts them up...a few will say that they think I need a better doctor...those people, I have to ignore (either that or say something unprofessional, which I won't do)...last time someone…

I don't have that much to lose, but my doctor, who has always has FABULOUS advice, wants me to lose weight, and get back to the weight I have been most of my life (which is 5'8" 130 lbs). She has never steered me wrong, so I'm going with her recommendation.

I'm in!! I want to get more exercise -- not only for weight loss but for general health reasons. :)

I don't think eating too much sodium makes it more difficult for you to lose weight but it is not good for your health. That is for sure. I recently had to go from eating something like 7000 to 9000 mg sodium per day to eating less than 2000 per day due to blood pressure issues (doctor told me to do so). It was easier than…

There are three reasons I get headaches (in general): 1) Caffeine withdrawal. I just drink one cup per day of coffee, nothing else caffeinated, but if I don't get that one cup, I get a horrible headache. 2) Junk food withdrawal -- when I started eating healthier a couple of years ago I was sick for over a week. I am not…

Yes, I have been able to lose weight while on Paxil. It is the same for me whether on or off Paxil.

I have hypoglycemia, isn't hyperglycemia the same thing as diabetes? (I have no clue, just asking.) I do really well as long as I make sure that I eat plenty of protein and don't go more than three hours (four max) without eating something.

Any vet will tell you that "people food" is not good for a dog. Just throw their leftovers away. As others have said, it's not any more wasteful in you (and on your hips) than in the trashcan. One thing that always motivates me is something I learned a long time ago from Weight Watchers, "your body is not a trashcan, so…

You need your sleep. In fact, I have read in several places that people who don't get enough sleep lose slower than those who don't. If I were in your position, I would do lots of little things that add up, like, parking farther away (during the day, not at night) so you have to walk farther to get to buildings, maybe take…

I may be able to help you. I am your mum's age, and I am in the middle of menopause, according to my doctor. I have not had any symptoms whatsoever, so I didn't even think I was in menopause, but my doctor (who is really good, and also my age) said that I was. I asked her why I didn't have any symptoms, because other…

Glad you found an answer. I had the laparoscopic gallbladder surgery and it was great (as surgeries go). I was comfortably back to work in a week. And now I have NO scars whatsoever. And best of all, no gallstone pain. :)

Well done! Thanks for sharing your pictures. It is inspirational.
