I just sent you a request. I'm a vegetarian AND I'm currently doing the south beach diet which is low carb. Feel free to take a look at my diary. Basically, I just sub veggie burgers or other meat substitutes for the meat. As far as sides go, I do lots of salads, I make the "mashed potatoes" out of cauliflower, and eat…

Whenever I'm feeling under the weather, I do a low-key workout. Maybe walk on the treadmill or take a walk? That way, you're still getting some exercize and burning some calories, but not overdoing it.

Ahh! My mouth is watering from all these recipies! Here's hoping the Farmers Market has butternut squash this weekend!

This is exactly my goal, too! I'm in!

I was never a breakfast person. I read all the posts about people saying they started losing again after starting to eat breakfast and all the info about jump-starting your metabolism..blah, blah, blah. I still never did it. Then, I totally hit a plateau and was so frustrated! I started doing the South Beach Diet, and it…

I agree with those steering you away from frozen meals. Take the extra time to pack yourself a "fresh" lunch. It's worth it. Look for things that are high in protein but low in fat. Most days for lunch I eat a wrap with 2% cheese, light mayo, lots of veggies, and soy turkey (I"m a vegetarian--but you can substitute regular…

This is a really interesting topic...I've enjoyed reading all of the responses. I do not eat "what I want" anymore. That being said, "what I want" is starting to change based on my desire to lead a healthier lifestyle. I love Taco Bell and ice cream. BUT, I learned that I can't eat healthy amounts of either of those…

1. Dogfish Head 90 Min IPA 2. Blue Point Hoptical Illusion 3. Troegs Hop Back 4. Sweetwater 420 5. Sam Adams Boston Lager

Nachos, for sure. I've done my best to come up with a "healthy version" where I make my own chips from low carb high fiber tortillas, and use low fat everything, but let's be real...it's not as good.

Maybe try changing what you're eating?? Try cutting down on carbs / sugars for a week or two and see if that helps? How close are you to your goal weight? I'm just asking because if you're close, you may have just hit the weight your body wants to be.

I have an ice cream problem...there, I said it. I've eaten an entire 1/2 gallon of ice cream more than once in my lifetime. I've given it up for lent and am hoping maybe the habit will stick?

This is amazing. I'm printing it out and putting on the dash in my car!!! If that doesn't deter me from pulling into the drive-thru, I don't know what will!!!

PERFECT!!! Thanks, Gale! I should have known I could count on you! :)

This site is so cool!!! Thanks for posting about it! I can't wait to go home and create a new playlist!!!

Try this link http://runningmusicmix.com/ It looks like they sort music by BPM (Beats Per Minute) You'd have to figure out how that equates to your running pace, I guess, but it looks like it might be helpful?

I'm sure you can google the effects of the chemicals they put in diet soda if you need a good scare. I mean think about it, if they remove the sugar, they have to replace it with something--almost always chemicals!! I've also heard (could be a total lie) that diet soda makes you crave other sweets. As a personal story, I…

I know I'm way behind on this post, but I just searched the topic because this is my life!!! I do such a good job during the day and then I get home, eat dinner, work out, then sit down to work some more and all I want to do is stuff my face!!!! I've tried the brushing the teeth and drinking water, but neither has worked.…

I think the biggest thing I learned about eating out while dieting is that restaurants can be flexible and you shouldn't be afraid to ask!! Ask for something grilled instead of fried, skip sauces, switch sauces, or get something on the side. The other best piece of advice is to make a sensible choice when ordering and then…

I found a delicious recipe in an old issue of Women's Day magazine for butternut squash ravioli. I posted the link below...it's delicious and about 332 calories, depending on the ravioli you use. http://www.womansday.com/recipefinder/ravioli-sauteed-butternut-squash-thyme-recipe-123139?click=rec_sr

What an amazing success!!!

I LOVE this idea!! Thanks so much for sharing...I'm going to pick up some apples this week at the store and give it a shot!

My trick for a big night out is to alternate vodka & soda water (about 65 calories) with plain soda water (0 calories). I put a lime in both and no one else can tell the difference and truth be told, they taste similar! That way, you can appear to be keeping up, but actually be limiting your calories. Even if you skip the…

I have no scientific basis for my thoughts, but I feel like I have more energy in the morning when I drink water. I also usually wake up thirsty, and I've always heard we should listen to our bodies about these things. My guess is that drinking 64 oz of water in a day (anytime during the day) is good and will help with…

I've heard similar advice about sushi v. sashimi as well. I'd recommend still getting at least one roll though, because without the fillers, you'll still be hungry if you just get 3 orders of different sashimi. I'd drop the shrimp tempura roll because the tempura adds unnecessary calories. Go with either the cucumber or…

I'm 5'9" 174 lbs currently and MFP still has me at 1200 calories. It seems like not very many, but once you add in exercise calories, it's fine. Even on days I don't work out, if I don't snack, I can manage to stay close. I don't know anything about the medical / nutritional aspect of it, but I know that when I have bad…
