  • Wow I agree wih believe2achieve- if that's a picture of you then you needn't be working so hard, you're tiny! I also agree that you are eating too little and exercising too much- this is probably why you are not having your period as your body is struggling to look after itself. Good luck!
  • Jammyone, a lot of people on here have been 'prescribed' a 1200-cal-a-day diet plan and by and large, it is working. As of this morning I was 34lb lighter since November. Once I have reached my target weight I will readjust my calories upwards so that I am maintaining rather than losing- simple. I am of course combining…
  • Breakfast- typically a Muller Light fat free yogurt, or a sachet of OatsSoSimple with skimmed milk (depending on what combos of protein/carbs etc I'm eating for the rest of the day). As a treat sometimes, scrambled eggs on 1 slice wholemeal toast. Lunch- a big bowl of salad with chicken or tuna and a fat free dressing. Or…
  • I always put mine in as 350 calories as cardio, for a 55 mnute session. It may be an underestimate but there are some sites out there claimig that the actual calories burned are lower. And I always figure it's better to underestomate than overestimate! Hope this helps x
  • I'm eating a lot of fruit as snacks but you have to beware of your carbs when eating loads of fruit so salads, carrot sticks, cucumber etc are good. For 'on the move' snacks and to help make up my calories each day, I am currently eating a lot of things like Dairylea Dunkers! Only around 120 cals a pot. Or Go Ahead yogurt…
  • Bodies are funny things! I've been doing well in general but every time I weigh I have no idea whether I'll have gne up, stayed the same or lost. I can gain as much as a pound in a day despite following all the 'rules', butthe next day it will come off again. I know it's not my scales and I also know I am weighing myself…
  • I'm doing better than I ever thought I could but then again I started in November so I have a bit of a head start. And I have a LOT more to lose so I can't rest on my laurels for too long... just under 80lb still to lose at least and even then my dress might not fit, so I have the dressmaker on standby with a lace-up back…
  • We buy a lot of chilled desserts like Cadburys low fat mousse, Aero mousse etc and these come in quite low in calories- the cadburys mousse is only 60 calories! I also found that a lor of other chilled puds ar quite low in cals anyway- most supermarket creme caramels, for example. We aso have a lot of jellies in the…
  • Agreed re the other thread! Nat set this one up for the YAYW ladies and selected friends, not for all brides everywhere. It's nice to pop in to other threads but also nice to have one of 'our own'
  • Hi ladies I have some more healthy recipes as my Olive magazine has just arrived, complete with a low-fat recipe supplement! Some also quite low carb. Do you want me to post more recipes or have you had enough!? Let me know and I can pop some on over the weekend if needed :)
  • Hi Yes as far as I know all the readings for fat, protein etc are in g. You can tweak them though, t suit your diet. Hope this helps!
  • If you start with a base of olive oil and vinegar you can add pretty much anything to make a range of interesting dressings. Personally I like chilli (leave some chilli flakes to infuse in the dressing), or lime juice, or lemon juice, or a small amount of garlic (again, crushed and infused). Honey and mustard is indeed…
  • Hi S Perhaps you could have soups or small portions of protein-rich foods for lunch? I find Heinz Big Soup, the really big cans, as good as a full meal for under 400 cals- although most do have some potato content, there are a few flavours without and they're all yummy! And sometimes I will make up a low fat chilli at home…
  • ...and while I'm on a roll....! Some more healthy options at the following, many with calorie and nutrition counts- http://www.the-gi-diet.org/recipes/ Mou this might be an option if you are looking at your carbs- Low-gi is all about the 'right' carbs :)

  • I'm not going to copy and paste all their recipes but also have a look at http://www.philadelphia.co.uk and click 'recipes'. There are a stack of chicken recipes in which you could substitute turkey instead- and a lot of them look really lush. No doubt if you stick to low fat versions of the Philly you can save even more…
  • And another from the same website- Ten minute turkey with peas and leeks Serve in bowls with crusty bread or rice to mop up all the sauce. I am also guessing the double cream can be substituted with low fat creme fraiche or similar, to lower the fat and calorie content... Serves: 4 Preparation time: 10 minutes Cooking…

  • Hi KittyKat I have never tried any of these Slimfast-type diets but probably wouldn't- I think that for me it's a step too far. It depends how much you want to fit into that dress I suppose! I think if I were being really honest I would say that I can't get by without eating 'proper' food, and it's possible to get similar…
  • Glad the recipes are useful KittyKat- I will try and get some more typed up this week :o)
  • That makes 10! I have lots more but that's your lot for now. I'll try and find the time to do more in the week. Enjoy!!!
