  • Definitely the hot shower afterwards- plus the fact that since I'm in a public shower stall at the gym and its not my own luxurious shower at home, I treat myself to great smelling shampoo and fancy body wash...makes it all so worth it....definitely my favorite time of the day!!
  • I too did WW for a long long long time, many, many times. I think my first meeting I was about 19- about 15 yrs ago...I've been on and off since. I had some success there, but ultimately I needed a change and a more personalized program to deal with my food issues One thing I can say about WW is it is a corporation out to…
  • Peeps come my way!! You will be safe from the jaws!!! All I can say is ICK!! i cant stand those things...eew. If ya'll are tempted by them, send them my way and I'll find a good home for them under the kitchen sink in teh trash. ick.
  • Definitely call corporate!!! No English sounds like an excuse to use when convenient. I used to date guy who used that excuse all the time...it made me crazy. Dont take this lying down. This is the reason why overweight people, peeps with disabilities, and such are ostraized from society and made to feel horrible about…
  • Great topic!! I read a couple of books- Dont Sweat The Small Stuff ( original and For Your Family), The Secret and another I cant remember the name of....overall the message I got from all these is this- LOOK AT THE POSITIVE. Ignore the negative. I was doing SO much of that- concentrating on the negative in my life and…
  • So because of Excercise, I have like 700 extra calories to eat, about 1050 left for the day-however, I have only 8 grams of fat left- Does anyone else battle this? Lots of calories left to eat, but not much fat? Or does no one else count fat grams along w/ calories?
  • LOL!!! Boy do I know what you mean!! I started with 10 minutes- I thought I would die. I'm happy to report this morning I did a FULL HOUR on that thing!! Woo Hoo!! BE determined and you'll do it as long as you want- eventually. Take some time to build up to it!!
  • You can add a new category if you'd like- go to the 'food' tab up top, then look directly below that for 'settings' and it will take you to a page where you can chage which foods you want to view and you can add/change the categories.
  • I had a completely undeserved gain of 4.9 lbs this week- I've been drinking water like crazy, so I'm thinking its just retaining water, but how do I get rid of the water? Seems like I'm not 'going' as much as I need to....Friday I drank 1 gallon of water and apparently retained every ounce of it- I watch my sodium uintake,…
  • four HOURS a day?!? Well no wonder they are losing huge numbers!!! Good grief! If I worked out that much, I'd lose weight like crazy!!! And here I was getting all flustered last night while enjoying the show because I barely lose 1 lb per week!! No wonder!
  • I just calculated my BMR, in order to stay alive, basically, I need 1740 calories. So how come I am supposed to eat 1680?? That's only a 60 calorie deficit per day, no wonder I'm not losing!!! Could MFP really be this wrong? I'd rather be wrong, but it doesnt make sense. In order to lose 1 lb/week, I need a deficit of 3500…
  • I watched this show for the first time ever last night-- holy moly!!! I loved it!! I cant believe I've never seen it!!! A couple of things I was curious about though- They all are wearing some kind of band on their arms- is this a heart rate monitor? How many hours a day do they excercise? I am so envious of them, but of…
  • Just wondering if anyone out there knew a healthy amount of sugar to have in a day- Cant seem to find an answer...what is healthy? I cant help but to wonder if the amt of sugar I'm eating is holding up my weight loss. Thanks for any light you can shed!!
  • I'm an addict too- I can pass up drugs, alcohol, even cigarettes, but tell me that I can never ever again have cheetos, chocolate, pizza, or any other equally horrifyingly unhealthy food and I'll go insane. I think this is something we will always deal with, I know I personally have most definitely gotten better, but I…
  • Just think of how many people have sneezed all over the goodies. That usually does the trick for me.
  • I think you are doing FINE!! Really!! DOnt be hard on yourself..this is a tough battle. Honestly, I would be THRILLED TO DEATH to lose an entire pound in one week.....I've been getting these .2 losses for way too long and I'm sick of it!! Hang in there!!
  • Sunday My DH & I took my 5 yr old step daughter to Brunch. It was an all you can eat buffet--my husband & I gorged ourselves, literally( for one meal off), meanwhile, we let hsi daughter choose what she wanted, she was able to get it herself-she old comes back with a box of special K cereal "I think its good for my heart"…
  • I had something similar over the summer- NO idea how I did it ( I know it was something at the gym though) Be very careful to let it heal COMPLETELY before doing anything at all, its pretty easy to-re-injure ( or at least it was for me) I went to the doctor after it started and he told me the pain in the ribs was beuase I…
  • NEGATIVITY!!! Boy do I need it- I've been doing so much better, but man alive, for awhile there, I was Ms. Negative Nellie!! P.S. when exactly does Lent start?
  • I didnt know about it either- Thanks!!
  • I break it into small goals- my next one is 20 lbs....then I'll set another
  • me me me!!! I love weight loss books/ motivation books. I havent bought one in awhile, but I love going through my old ones and re-reading them. I might just have to do a little shopping now!!
  • How much water have you had today?? <--32 ounces ( 8:58 AM) Drink it up, baby!!:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
  • I have a digital scale and its not new ( maybe 2 yrs old?) and it does the same thing. I can move the scale and get a different reading- and move it again and get yet another different reading. Its annoying and frustrating, but I do think that's " normal" for scales. P.S. Mine is a Health O Meter
  • I wondered that too- By drinking so much water, we can 'relax' a little about sodium intake?? Seems to make sense. I beleive that someone who consumes 2500 mg of sodium, and drinks at least 64 ounces of water will be overall much healthier than the person who consumes 2500 sodium and drinks no water.
  • I heard several times- ( from Weight Watchers, and other health conscious articles, and such) that it is safe and actually healthy to drink one half your weight in ounces for weight loss...so if you weight 150, you should be drinking 75 ounces of water per day. While some may see that as too much, depending on the weight…
  • In used to be able to have a cheat day and eat whatever I wanted, but I'm finding that I cant do that anymore, as I undo a lot of my hard work and actually gain weight- so I try to eat what I want, but in small portions and try to excercise more. I think it depends on the individual and what works for you- if you can do it…
  • After over FOUR months at yo-yo-ing at the same weight (give or take four lbs), I finally broke my plateau!! I'm even in a new "decade"...Woo Hoo!! What broke it for me was this new 'program'.- MFP!! I lost the first 40-42 lbs on Weight Watchers- Which was great, but I needed a change- so I did it "on my own" for awhile…
  • Cheese! String cheese is a great snack, also cheese slices or cubes, I recently got on a kick of Light Salami and other meats is a great snack and it fills you up too!
