  • It's actually a bit scary. :O
  • Great post. And I didn't know trendweight.com, it's nice, I like to play with these things. As soon as I registered, it showed all the times I weighed myself in the past two weeks. I was impressed, I never set my scale to register anything.
  • As the previous posters wrote, it does not effect weight loss whatsoever, but they can help to higher the amount of protein you consume. I've always used them when I needed more protein. No, they don't have any side effect, the chocolate ones even taste good. [edit English mistakes :P ]
  • Since you have a very busy schedule and it's hard to manage your meals, you could prepare them in advance during the week-end and have them already portioned and packed. You can freeze them, or buy a vacuum sealer with boxes (I have it, it keeps the food fresh much longer). You don't seem to have much time to eat during…
  • I am sorry, I don't know any particular good scale, BUT I just wanted to tell you that it is not so important that the scale is perfectly accurate in measuring the initial weight as long as it is accurate in measuring the correct weight you lose. I don't care if my scale is +/- 5 kg wrong, the important thing is that I…
  • Thank you, I need some luck. :) Norway is a great country indeed. Good luck to your brother and family as well.
  • Thank you, you are very kind. In case of an emergency they would take care of me (I suppose) but if any legal problem comes out I might be in trouble. I am trying to avoid this.
  • Hi, I think that probably your cheat meals on Friday and Sunday (did you mean the whole day?) ruin the effort you put during the rest of the week.
  • Thank you for the message. :) I hope I will solve the legal situation soon (meaning: I hope I find a job soon). Until then I can't even go to a hospital. About the free counsellors, groups etc, I don't think they exist in my town. And the language would be a problem, my Norwegian is far from perfect.
  • This is probably also right. But please consider that it is true that the medications make you more hungry. You (in general, but it's true in my case) literally crave for carbs and sweet things. Why didn't I gain weight the other times I took paroxetine (or other drugs)? Because I was using MFP or FitDay. But I was HUNGRY.…
  • Use a scale, weight everything, eat whatever you like (ok, not only sweets maybe) and count the calories. As for your question: during the University I always brought my lunch with me. I prepared it the day before and put it in a box. You could use a bento and put whatever you like (rice, pasta, vegetables, fish, meat...).…
  • Since you say that you are not hungry in the morning, you could try Intermittent Fasting. I, for example, eat only from 12 to 18, so I have a window of six hours during which I eat all my calories. I never feel hungry.
  • Hi, I used to follow a 40/30/30 plan and it was great for me. Now I don't actually pay any attention to my macros, but if I did I would do 40 (carbs)/30/30 again. I remember it felt very equilibrate.
  • Thank you for all those who answered, every reply is important. I think it can be safe to say that medication makes you more hungry, but it is possible to lose weight, just a bit mentally harder. I will see how it gets, if it becomes unbearable I will start daparox again. Yesterday evening I had a 4 hours straight panic…
  • The metabolism related problems was my concern, I heard about it too, but not even my previous psychiatrists really confirmed it or denied it. What you wrote made me think, I have never given much thought about it, but I used to have between 34.5 and 35.5 temperature (yes really) and now I am back to my normal 36.2. But I…
  • Thank you for your concern, I understand it, I would have written the same things. The symptoms are the reason why I take the medication, not the side effect. I took daparox about 8 times in the last 10 years, I know it well by now. As I wrote in a previous post I slowly reduce it when I get off, it takes about three…
  • Thank you very much, this is what I needed to know. If I use MFP I know I can control what I eat, I can resist the hunger. I never gained so much weight in such a short time and I know the reason why it happened is because I wasn't monitoring my calories with MFP this year.
  • Thank you for your response. In the past I took several kind of medicines (not antidepressants) and the only one that helped me was the paroxetine. Derealization is not, in my case, a side effect: it is one of the most severe effects of my "mental problems" (don't know the correct term in English, sorry if it's not…
  • I still have enough to last me for about a year. And my parents can get a prescription from their doctor (who has known me since I was born) and send them to me by post.
  • Well, I could eat breakfast (in my case: milk and oat, or corn flakes) for lunch and dinner, everyday. :) I do eat pretty much the same food everyday, anyway.
  • Hi, I think you are under-eating and losing weight too fast. Stick with 1200 calories and accept the fact that it takes time. But you definitely won't gain. Edit: if you keep eating so little you'll end up binging or giving up, after a while. I've been there.
  • Thank you for your response Tomatoey. Unfortunately I don't have a doctor and I cannot have one for the moment, not even the "family doctor" (I moved to a new country and I can't have one until I find a job). Anyway, as you wrote, weight loss isn't worth panic attacks. Nothing is, for me. But... I never ever leave my home…
  • I'm going to start 5:2 in two weeks. Right now I am doing 18:6. IF is great if you need help controlling the hunger, in my opinion.
  • Hi, are you measuring everything you eat with a scale and counting the calories?
  • I would suggest you to pre-log your meals the day before. Maybe allow yourself a treat everyday (or whenever you want). Just be sure that you already know what you are going to eat, so you have no reasons to feel "guilty". And there is no such a thing as bad food, so enjoy whatever you like, as long as it fits your daily…
  • I'm going to make them tomorrow, thanks!
  • You are all so amazing and this is the best thread ever!
  • Peanut butter and my finger.
  • White beans/peanut butter chocolate chip cookies (50 cal each). I'm experimenting with food, because I had to eliminate flour (it makes me sick). Surprisingly, they taste really good, although they are way too sweet because I was afraid of the beans and I added too much honey (50g, next time I will put 20g).
  • I would suggest you to log your meal/s anyway. Personally, when I don't, I lose control. (Chicken and salad cannot be considered a cheat meal!)
