  • NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL INSPIRATIONAL. THANKS FOR THE GREAT POST!
  • i've used a plastic air popper for years, use it on high about 4 minutes with just dry popcorn. Top with about one pat of real butter or the spray butters are really convenient but you decide on the chemical tinkering with those. Microwave packs are gross if you look at what is in there before you cook it.

  • chipolte chili seasoning - all by itself it does the job, no salt or msg or calories or guilt
  • "May" is just a magic word isn't it. Thanks for a great laugh!
  • With such a long list of passionate replies, you'd think we are arguing FOR processed, salted and chemically altered kind-a foods! No doubt they are easier and faster to prepare, but there is a toll on the body. Kind of obvious, right? This debate might be outside the original intent of the poster, but hey threads have a…
  • Water! Ok, if you must have your caffene, there are a ton of great tasting teas you can make in a pitcher in your fridge. The black teas are stronger and have the kick you are looking for. Try the Aztec Chili Tea - marvelous, unexpected and refreshing.
  • Try a scarf or neck wrap that you can cover your mouth/nose at the start of your run. It nicely warms the air you breath and works like a charm. Ear muffs or a hat are a must too. After you warm up a bit you may no longer need it. Works for me in cold weather (I'm a baby about cold too!)
  • Acorn Squash - love to serve it scooped out and mashed with a bit of spagetti sauce and some parmasan cheese Carotts, cauliflower, chick peas - roast with garlic pepper, a dash of olive oil, and chipolte Apples - peel, slice, add cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, sweetener, toss and cook in microwave for guilt-free apple pie…
  • What a terrific win! Should be posted as a banner on the site for all to be inspired by. Thanks for sharing, and congrats.
  • Love the lettuce wraps - has a nice "sandwich-feel" to it. Jimmy Johns has a nice one too. Now if we can just stay away from that tempting cheesecake. Thanks for the info!
  • What's next? A fish jumping out of a pond and hurling itself under your foot? Sorry about the sound effects - must be awfully disturbing!
  • Love the fennel recipe you shared. As a vegetarian I miss the taste of fennel I once enjoyed in italian sausage dishes. Yeah now I have a vegetarian option to try. FYI, I thought Anise was where licorice flavoring originated. Fennel something quite different though both delicious. Thanks!
  • We could really use some good maintenance advise. I'm close also and hope to never creep back up the scale this time. I thought I'd read from another MPF'er that once reaching that goal we need to return to the normal calorie level very slowly to let our body adjust. Tips like this and more, I'd love to see. Thanks for the…
  • If you have issues with food, logging everything CAN lead to obsessing. That is just thinking about food too darn much. Which could lead us to eat more of it. Wouldn't it be nice to just get a life and think about and do other things with our time? I read a quote saying "how lame are we for the amount of time we spend…
  • These are great. Here are a couple more in my signature line....
  • I do this also - it's a good bet that both calories in and exercise cals out are going to miss the mark a bit.
  • Agree everything is geared toward helping us "feel better" about our weight. The size 10 I wore in high school is easily a size 6 now. So if I were wearing a size 10 today and feeling good about it I would probably be 30 to 40 pounds overweight. I tried on a pair of 6 jeans this week and they were WAY too big. It may be a…
  • This is hard the first few days. I've quit before and it isn't difficult after you are off of it for a while. I think there are actual addictive substances in there. Substitutes are a great help. I found a wonderful tea that has a bit of zing to it that reminds me of the carbonation that makes diet soda seem so refreshing…
  • Forest yoga? I've tried several and love them all, but never heard of this one Describe? Thanks! Like the others - recommend taking a live class at your local Y or fitness center. It is a great way to get started out right. Bad form can be corrected easily when you are new and will avoid injuries, Enjoy!
  • Wow, congrats on a great journey!
  • Or try a chocolate protein shake. I add a scoop of the choc, add some cinnamon, half or a quarter of a banana, and lots of ice. You'll think you are having a creamy chocolate malt! Yet it is very good for you. (Sheesh, forgot to say add about a half cup water too.) Depending on the mix you choose, this should be around…
  • It is so addictive - I have not touched it for a long time now, but it was hard. We all know this stuff is toxic, and leaches calcium from our bones. If we don't care about that one today, stay tuned. Worst is it tricks your body into thinking it IS sugar, and after drinking this makes you crave all sorts of other bad…
  • Might be what you are eating? If your diet is heavy in processed foods or high-gylcemic carbs, even if your calories are low your body may be holding onto the weight. I've had much better results by eating real food and putting my calories into veggies and fruits vs. using "energy bars" or breads, etc. Good luck!
  • first name, favorite color
  • Many people who embrace a veggie lifestyle do it in stages. Some may give up beef and other furry animals first, which is what I did some thirty years ago. Next came the poultry. I have never looked back and the transition this far was not hard at all. My hold-out has been an occasional dinner of fish because eating out…
  • Craving killers include: 8 oz warm water with fresh grated ginger Cold water with lemon (1oz lemon to 8oz water) without sweeetner Good luck!
  • Excellent!
  • Use it or lose it applies. If you don't make an effort to stretch, muscle tissue shortens over time. Especially true for people working out and building muscle. Runners are doomed to injury if you don't make the effort to lengthen those tight, lean legs. Beextremely gentle when you are cold. And still gentle when warmed…
