Eat real food! Real food, unlike processed food, doesn't leave you with witdrawal once digested. The withdrawal may feel like hunger, but hunger comes hours later or the next day. I'm never hungry when I don't eat, evenings included, and when I do eat, it's at regular social times. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you're…

I'm not sure what you mean by satisfied?
-
I can only assume you think you know exactly what you're doing and why.

A friend of mine on bioidentical estradiol transdermal patches says her weight has been stable.

Who knows, maybe one day OP decides to take up bodybuilding. So let's say you believe by eating in the evening you maintain muscle better and you have also taken an interest in fasting and your eating window is the evening hours. Would you eat fruit at the beginning of the window or simply skip fruit altogether? Fruits…

So simple, yet so efficient. My kind of versatility, lol.

Good points. Automation and specialization. Let people do what they're best at. Leave the cooking up to us, the food business said. And look what happened. We're up to our eyeballs in processed food. As for womans' rights, everyone, both men and women, need to to return to their kitchen. Much more on all of this in Michael…

They ate home-cooked meals. They biked. Soda and bagel sizes were smaller. No cell, no Internet, no texting!

Spikes in blood glucose are normal after consuming a meal. Diabetes is a special case though, and protein may help. Then again, different foods are digested differently, see William Howard Hay. My own meals show no particular pattern, lol. This discomfort could be withdrawal rather than hunger. Some foods digest faster…

Fruits contain sugar. The body's biggest production spurts of growth hormone occur during the early hours of sleep, and high blood sugar levels inhibit growth hormone release. Cottage cheese should be fine before bed though.

I allow myself all the snacks I feel like having. It's just that I don't often feel a need to eat between meals. No cravings from processed food because I don't eat a whole lot of it. And when I'm bored or stressed, water or tea will mostly do. I'm not hungry when I don't eat, and when I do eat, the meal can be a treat…

I drink some water and think of something else for a moment. It's not often it happens to me because while anyone can feel bored or stressed at times, real food does not promote cravings. When digestion is ending and you enter fasting, people who eat processed food can experience withdrawal at this time, which they may…

That's total bogus, lol. Show us your articles! "Eating before bed slows metabolism and encourages weight gain, says Dr. Mark Hyman in his book "Ultrametabolism: The Simple Plan for Automatic Weight Loss." Get into the habit of eating dinner earlier and opt for a smaller, lighter meal to reduce the time and energy needed…

That's often also the time when you run out of willpower. So sleep burns fat before just eaten carbohydrates, lol? "Before electricity and all-night diners, we humans used to spend a long stretch every night without food passing our lips. "Staying up and eating late is a very recent phenomenon in human history," Panda…

"As a rule, processed foods are more “energy dense” than fresh foods: they contain less water and fiber but more added fat and sugar, which makes them both less filling and more fattening. These particular calories also happen to be the least healthful ones in the marketplace, which is why we call the foods that contain…

Thank you for your feedback. My apologies for getting giddy last night; my willpower had run out of juice. This morning I ran into a couple of articles, (a) and (b), which, along with references, have been touched on in the mfp forums; I have quoted three for particular attention. (a) 5 Simple Steps to Burn Fat without…

Having garbanzo beans with lunch makes you feel less hungry at dinner time. A downside to coffee at 8 a.m. is 1/4 of the caffeine is in your body at 8 p.m.

Haha, of course you do. You're addicted to them!
-
Oh yes, haha. And when they snap out of it, even then they usually don't see anything wrong with it. They may be addicted to mindlessness. Maybe it's a hormonal thing. It's like those driving in the passing lane of a freeway and unaware of it. Traffic must be piling up fify times a day making them pull over, and nothing,…

"One of the surprising things in our work is that whole-wheat products turned out to have the least healthy responses of all, and this is not what we expected." Sourdough bread may be better than whole wheat http://www.ctvnews.ca/sourdough-bread-may-be-better-than-whole-wheat-1.307157

If I eat a Carls' Jr. Charbroiled Atlantic Cod Fish sandwich like I mean it and do so floating weightlessly while traveling in outer space, would that affect my weight loss? What if there's a full size poster of noted swimsuit wearer Nina Agdal on a wall in the spaceship's padded cell, lol?

You may be interested in the graph in the following article. Keep in mind that when digestion has completed and you enter fasting, people who eat processed food may experience withdrawal at this time, which they could interpret as hunger. It's not hunger. And of course if they eat then, it's right back on the blood sugar…

The study says no such thing. If I have overlooked something, please let us know! Could it be that withdrawal following digestion of processed food feels like hunger to you?
-
That's your truth. Here's mine! Snacking keeps your blood sugar constantly elevated. It's better to maintain low levels of insulin allowing your body to more easily tap into your stored fat for fuel.
-
Hunger or withdrawal (or boredom or stress)? "Our hypothesis is that a diet containing an abundance of processed food and low in micronutrient-rich plant foods can create physical symptoms of withdrawal when digestion ceases in between meals. Our contention is that during the catabolic phase of the digestion and refeeding…

I was hoping someone does! Which brings up that each of us here likely has different thresholds for being persuaded on various topics. Your feedback is much appreciated.

My knowledge of bodybuilding is near nil, so I was hoping you can give us your take on this: "Here's something fun to try: Go up to the biggest, most shredded, most muscular dude you know, and say nothing to him but "catabolic." Then proceed to watch him run and hide in the corner, frantically trying to mix up a protein…

I wonder if you could let us in on what "appropriate total intake" entails. For now this: Nighttime snacking reduces whole body fat oxidation and increases LDL cholesterol in healthy young women http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23174861

There are two stages of digestion, the anabolic stage and the catabolic stage. "Anabolic stage is when you’re eating and digesting. It’s like fueling your car. This is the stage when you are filling up the gas tank! In this stage, you are breaking down food and turning it into… you!" "When you stop eating you enter the…

"Diet induced thermogenesis (DIT) can be defined as the increase in energy expenditure above basal fasting level divided by the energy content of the food ingested and is commonly expressed as a percentage. It is, with basal metabolic rate and activity induced thermogenesis, one of the three components of daily energy…
